Mother Gorilla - Third Farm

Hello my sweet Diary. Here is a new diary. Lots of new challenges this time for me. The first time I plant feminized seeds, I will use organic nutrients from RQS. Also, I will replace my airpots with fabric pots. But let's start from the beginning. Why Mother Gorilla? When I choose the strain for the next planting, the main category is that I would like it to be sativa. Since I am also a daytime smoker, I do creative work, and I want my smoke to help me and stimulate me to work, not lie down on a sofa and listen to music. I have to be productive. The other parameter is the height, since my Box is 120x60x180, the light should be 35-40 cm from the plants, the height of 100-110 cm is the maximum for my conditions. And so Royal Madre, which meanwhile changed its name to Mother Gorilla, was the winner in the current selection of strains I have in my collection. This time, I planted two Mother Gorilla plants and one Somango XL plant, a little indica for evening smoke. In the meantime, as I was thinking about which strain to plant, the team at RQS were changing genetics and sending me a new seeds (mother Gorilla) whose height was no longer that small. We'll see what lies ahead. Mother Gorilla provides a stimulating effect typical to sativa-dominant varieties. It’s the perfect level of energy and excitation. She swiftly wakes up the mind and gets the neurons firing, without being overwhelming. Users will enjoy a motivating and creative mindset that, in small doses, can be good for artistic and athletic ventures. Smoke enough of her flowers, though, and the effect becomes completely euphoric. Mother Gorilla’s flowers contain an impressive THC content of 23–25%—more than enough to provide significant therapeutic effects for medicinal users. The strain has the potential to reduce pain and stoke the appetite. Her bud also contains high levels of the terpene caryophyllene, a type of "dietary cannabinoid". The strain is also high in the mood-boosting and relaxing terpenes limonene and myrcene. This terpene profile culminates in tastes of rich chocolate and earth complemented by sweetness and spice. So, this is my set-up: Box - Secret Jardin DS120W 120x60x178 Lights - MIGRO 200+ Fan - Blauberg Turbo - E 100 Ventilation - Monkey Fan 20W Oscillating Soil - BIOBIZZ Light - Mix Small 0.4L for germination and 11L fabric pot Seed - Royal Queen Seed 21.01.2020. Planting. After photographing the seeds, I prepared 3 small pots for germination. Two for Mother Gorillas and one for their roommate Somango. After that, I added 1g Easy Roots - Mycorrhiza to each hole where I put the seeds. After that, I soaked everything well with water and put it in the Box. The light was on for 24 hours, the temperature in the box was about 25 degrees and the humidity was 35-40%. 25.01.2020. Plants sprouted after 4 days. The day before, I sprayed them a little with water. 29.01.2020. Day 1. In size and development, this is the first day. 30.01.2020. Day 2. For the first time, I watered the plants with Easy Grow Booster tablets. I split the pill into three pieces and put it in water to melt. It takes about 3-5 minutes to dissolve the whole tablet in 7 liters of water. Depending on the water temperature. For start, when the pots are small, I only prepare a third of one tablet in 2 liters of water as I do not need large quantities for watering yet. 01.02.2020. Day 4. Watering. 03.02.2020. Day 6. Hello Diary. The big week is behind us. When I say "Us" I mean my wife and me :). We transplanted plants for the first time and I have to admit I was pretty nervous about it, but with the help of my wife, everything went smoothly. I must emphasize that although my wife is not a consumer, she helps me a lot with my whole project. But let's start from the beginning to see how the week went: 06.02.2020. Day 9. Transplantation. First, I prepared everything I needed for transplanting: Fabric pots, BioBizz Light Mix, Easy Boost Organic Nutrition, Easy Roots - Mycorrhiza Mix and I prepared water with which to water the plants after transplanting. I prepared 7 lit. of water into which I put one Easy Grow Booster pill. After about 5 min the tablet was melted and the water was ready for use. First I put the soil in a new fabric pot and added 50g Easy Boost Organic Nutrition in the form of pellets and mixed everything well. After that I added 4g of Mycorrhiz and also mixed with soil and pellets. After that I made a hole into which I put 1g of Mycorrhize, I removed the plant from a small pot and put the plant in the hole. On this occasion, I saw that the roots had developed quite well in such little time. Most of all thanks to Easy Roots Mycorrhizza Mix. After that, I did the same with another plant. More specifically, my wife did it, I took pictures and ordered :). After the whole operation, we watered the plants well. It was faster and easier than I imagined. In the end it was nice to see plants in new pots. 09.02.2020. Day 12. Watering. This time I only watered the plants with water that I had previously lowered p.H. at 6.3 with Plagron's Lemon Kick. 11.02.2020. Day 14. Photographing and measuring plant height. Mother Gorilla #1 - 11 cm Mother Gorilla #2 - 12 cm Conclusion at the end of the week: Although the transplant seemed complicated to me, with the instructions I watched on grow diaries and read on the RQS blog, everything went great. Adding nutrients is a lot easier for me now. I put the pill on and that's it. What I wish was different is the humidity and temperature of course. I wish it was higher, but given the time of year and the heating in the apartment, I'm super pleased with how the plants are developing. We'll see how they will be in new pots now. Hello Diary. Another week is behind me. All is well, the plants grow beautifully. Watering the plants is now much easier with Easy Grow Booster Tablets, after adding the tablet I regulate the p.H. on 6.3 or 6.2 with Plagron's Lemon Kick, and thats it. This is how it looked this week. 13/02/2020. Day 16. Watering. I decided not to add the Easy Grow Booster Tablet at every watering. This time I put a tablet and regulated p.H. 16/02/2020. Day 19. Watering. I didn't put the tablet this time. I just regulated the p.H. at 6.3. At each watering I prepare 7 liters of water in which I put one tablet. I equally pour all three pots with 7 lit. 18/02/2020. Day 21. Photographing and measuring plant height. Data for grow diaries. Mother Gorilla # 1 - 25cm Mother Gorilla # 2 - 27cm The conclusion at the end of the week is that everything is going well. I wish the humidity and temperature were higher, but for now I don't see anything missing. It's nice to see them in new fabric pots. And for now, I have no problem with watering. In earlier diaries I took pictures twice a week. This time I decided to take a photo on the last day of the current week. I think this is enough to keep a close eye on the development of the plants. Hello Diary. Last week of vegetation. Given the height, I'm switching to 12/12 light mode tomorrow. This is my first such experience, the first feminized plants. I don’t know yet if I should have switched to 12/12 earlier. We'll see. Otherwise, the plants look good and healthy. They are much taller than their roommate Somango, so I had to raise the pot a little higher. The branches are rarer than in Somango and in general the structure and appearance of the plants are completely different, which is cool. On the last day of the week I made my first defoliation, I did not cut too many leaves and branches, so that I can water more beautifully and easily. But let's see an overview of the week. 19/02/2020. Day 22. Watering. I prepared the usual 7 liters of water, inserted an Easy Grow Booster tablet, and lowered the p.H. at 6.3 with Plagron's Lemon Kick. With these 7 liters of water, I water all three plants evenly. 22/02/2020. Day 25. Watering. The watering process was the same as three days earlier. 25/02/2020. Day 28. Watering, I added the Easy Grow Booster tablet one last time, before that I took photos of the plants and made my first defoliation. They are switching to 12/12 light mode tomorrow. MOTHER GORILLA #1 - Day 28 - 43 cm MOTHER GORILLA #2 - Day 28 - 44 cm The vegetation phase is over, the plants is developing beautifully. We'll see what the coming weeks bring. I am uncertain how tall the plants will grow, given that the box height is 178cm, I am quite limited in height. But, we will see. See you next week.

Hello Diary. The first week of flowering. I switched the light to 12/12 and now the fun part comes. Plants grow like crazy. They will soon be twice as tall as their Somango roommate. The branches are less spaced compared to the Somango, but to me the plants are beautiful. They are developing nicely and I hope they don't grow too tall. They started showing gender too :). I keep watering every three days, it seems to be optimal considering the conditions, temperature and humidity. 28/02/2020. Day 31. Watering. This time I put the Easy Bloom Booster tablet for the first time, after which I lowered the p.H. at 6.3 with Plagron's Lemon Kick. I prepare 7 lit. water from which I water all three plants evenly. 02/03/2020. Day 34. Watering. The watering procedure is the same as it was three days ago. 03/03/2020. Day 35. Photographing and measuring plant height. MOTHER GORILLA #1 - Day 35. - 68 cm MOTHER GORILLA #2 - Day 35. - 71 cm The flowering phase begins, again a new experience for me. 12/12 light mode I use for the first time. Since I have automatic plants in the previous two grows, this is the first time that I am influencing the beginning of flowering with my actions. For now the plants are developing nicely, I have to admit that I am a little worried about the speed at which they grow, given the height of the box, I might have problems. But we'll see, I'm optimistic anyway. See you next week.

Hello Diary. The second week of flowering is behind me. The plants were very branched out so I decided to do a new defoliation at the end of the week to refresh them a little. Everything else is going well. I am a little concerned about the height, the plants are now 100 cm tall and given the 178 cm box height, he might soon have problems. They started to be more thirsty than before, so I started watering the plants more often. But nothing extreme, I watered two or three times a day earlier than I used to. Let's see a quick overview of the week. 03/04/2020. Day 36. Watering. As a standard, I prepare 7 liters of water, put on Easy Bloom Booster tablets, and after the tablet has dissolved, measure the p.H. of water which in my case is about 7.2 and with Plagron’s Lemon Kick I regulate the p.H. at 6.3, sometimes it happens to be 6.2 or 6.1 but I don't pay much attention to it. After that I evenly water all three plants in the box. 07/03/2020. Day 39. Watering. The watering procedure is the same as three days earlier. 10/03/2020. Day 42. I first photographed the plants, then measured the height and made a new defoliation and after that I watered the plants. And officially ended Week 6 of the diary :). Mother Gorillas look beautiful, real sativa, I hope they stop growing in height. Flowers are starting to sprout, so I'm looking forward to new motives for my photography. See you soon.

Hello Diary. Third week of flowering.😀 Plants turn into giants given the size of my box. I have to admit I didn’t expect it, maybe I should have topped them off but somehow I would be happiest to always grow naturally, no matter what I would get a higher yield with. Anyway, the plants grow nicely, the flowers develop. Their roommate Somango shows signs of CalMg deficiency, which I didn’t notice on Mother Gorillas. The only thing that worries me is the height, I’m afraid I’ll have to bend them, and I don’t know how it’s going to end. We will see soon. 😏 I did a little defoliation again, I cleaned the lower branches and leaves, to let more energy go into the flowers. 🙏 13/03/2020 Day 45. Watering. As always, I prepare 7 lit. water in which I put one Easy Bloom Booster tablet and with that amount of water, distribute it evenly on all three plants. p.H. I regulate with Plagron, Lemon Kick. 16/03/2020 Day 48. Watering. The procedure is the same as three days ago. 17/03/2020 Day 49. Photography and height measurement and defoliation. Mother Gorilla #1 - 114 cm Mother Gorilla #2 - 120 cm Taking photos in a box is getting really hard now, I won’t be able to photograph the whole cycle the way I planned. I’m going to have to come up with some new way of taking photos because I like to do it almost the same as growing. 😉 See you soon. 🙌

Hello Diary. The fourth week of flowering, and Mother Gorilles want to break through the roof on the box.😵 They’re really huge, I’m going to have to bend them to the side to get the light. I was totally surprised by this situation, I didn’t think it would grow that big. 😳 First experience with feminized seed. Anyway, what is there is, the plants otherwise look beautiful and healthy. Of the nutrients, they get only Easy Bloom Booster tablets and Plagron’s Lemon Kick to regulate p.H. 💪 The flowers are developing beautifully and I am happy about that. 😀 I don’t know how much more I can expect it to grow, I hope it won’t be much higher in height. 🙏 19/03/2020 Day 51. Watering. By default, I prepare 7 lit. water in which I put one Easy Bloom Booster tablet and distribute that amount of water evenly on all three plants. I use Plagron's Lemon Kick to regulate p.H. 22/03/2020 Day 54. Watering. The procedure is the same as three days ago. 24/03/2020 Day 56. Photography and height measurement. There is already quite a crowd in the box and it is difficult to take the plants out for photography, and I would like to photograph the development phase every week, I am afraid I will soon have to figure out a way to photograph them outside the box. In the fifth week of flowering, Mother Gorillas outgrew the height of the box and I had to bend them. 😞 I decided not to take them out of the box until the last two weeks of flowering when I would photograph them in more detail. Otherwise besides being huge, the plants look beautiful and healthy. Real sativa. 😍 Of the nutrients I still give Easy Bloom Boster tablets and p.H. I regulate with Plagron, Lemon Kick. 25/03/2020 Day 57. Watering. By default, I prepare 7 lit. water, I put on an Easy Bloom Booster tablet, I regulate p.H. with Plagron’s Lemon Kick and water all three plants evenly with that amount of water. 28/03/2020 Day 60. Watering. Same procedure as three days earlier. 31/03/2020 Day 63. Try taking photos. I also watered the plants after the photo shoot. We will see how the flowers will develop, now the lower branches are a little in the shade but it is too late now to cry. But in any case, for now, they are not showing that they are missing anything. 😀 See you soon. 🙌

Hello Diary. Sixth week of flowering. Mother Gorillas thrive nicely, the flowers are covered with trichomes.😍 The tops on the lower branches do not get as much light because they are too far away, and this will certainly affect the quality and development of the flowers on the lower branches. 😞 A few more weeks so I’ll see what I’ve accomplished. 03/04/2020 Day 66. Watering. As before, 7 liters of water, one tablet of Easy Bloom Booster, to regulate p.H. I add Plagron’s Lemon Kick and with those 7 liters I water all three plants evenly. 06/04/2020 Day 69. Watering. Same as three days earlier. 07/04/2020 Day 70. Photography. For now, I will do the best I can and in the end I will try to take better photos. Less than a year ago, I bought two monkey fans from jecret jardin, the first died after a few months and the second, last week. Although they are visually beautiful to me, I said goodbye to the secret jardin and bought this black and green fan. It seems to me that the quality is incomparably better. See you soon.

The seventh week of flowering and we are slowly approaching the end. 😃 I didn’t photograph the plants this week, I couldn’t photograph them the way I wanted to and so I’ll wait until next week, I don’t want to disturb them by taking them out of the box. 😊 I posted two photos from the week before, just as a reminder. The flowers are now nicely developed although they are not too big. Everything else seems fine, except for the lack of light on the lower branches, I don’t think they lack anything. 09/04/2020 Day 72. Watering. I water all three plants with 7 liters of water. I give each one about the same amount. I dissolve one Easy Bloom Booster tablet in water and regulate p.H with Plagron’s Lemon Kick. 12/04/2020 Day 75. Happy Easter :). Watering. Hello Diary. Eighth week of flowering, another week and we have a harvest. 😋 I finally bought a black background for photography, now I can enjoy it again. As you can see Mother Gorillas have grown big and skinny, I would say, real sativa. On the upper branches the flowers are full of terpenes, as if sprinkled with snow. Too bad I don’t have a higher box so I didn’t have to bend them. I stopped adding nutrients and from this week I only watered with water. 15/04/2020 Day 78. Watering. I stopped adding Easy Bloom Booster tablets and watered only with water. 18/04/2020 Day 81. Watering with water only. 21/04/2020 Day 84. Photography. I bought a black background for photography and now the photos will be even better. I don’t know what I enjoy more, growing or photographing and filming? But in this second part I certainly have more experience :). Another week and harvest. See you soon.

Hello Diary. The last week of flowering and finally harvest. We've been through a lot in these thirteen weeks. My first experience with feminized plants. It literally broke my expectations. I believe that the yield will not be the same as before, but according to the appearance of the flowers and how they smell, I can't wait to try them. During the week I checked the trichomes under a microscope, and when they started to brown I decided to harvest. 91st day since she sprouted. 24/04/2020 Day 87. Last watering. 28/04/2020 Day 91. Last photo shoot and harvest. Now ten days of drying so we will see the result. Buds are little, except main cola, thay are full of trichomes and sticky. See you after drying, trimming, tasting and taking photos.

Hello Diary. After thirteen weeks and a total of 91 days since it sprouted we have a harvest.😍 I will remember Mother Gorillas by their height, they grew a little more than 150 cm, I must admit that I did not expect that. 😳 Given the height of the box of 173 cm, I had to bend them. With them in the box was also the Somango XL which grew twice as small as them 😏. During all thirteen weeks, the plants developed nicely, showing no lack of anything. Although the flowers were not too big, we eventually got 30, 35 g of dried flowers from two plants 😍. Throughout the cycle they were given the RQS nutrient line which proved to be good but the most important thing for me is that it is organic.💪 After harvest, I hung them in a box upside down and they were dried for ten days at a temperature of 24 degrees and 35% humidity. Drying is followed by trimming, weighing and storing in jars. The flowers are sticky and full of trichomes, which can be seen in the pictures. Mother Gorilla, is great for consumption during the day, gives me motivation and energy and helps me in my creative work 😎. And so ended my first grow with feminized seeds. Next grow back to automatics.
