First grow journey, any tips will be appreciated!
I will be planting the Royal Queen Seeds "Quick One" (Autoflower) outdoors (starting indoors) in northern hemisphere.
Seed germinated easily using wet paper towel method after 2 days and a bit. It actually germinated earlier but I decided to let it linger a few extra hours to get the root to grow slightly more.
Planted it once I deemed it ready (root was approx. 2 to 5mm) in regular humid soil in a small pot as I will transplant to the ground or a bigger pot later on (I know it's not recommended but I don't really have a choice as it is slightly too cold outside I think, 8°C at night to ~15°C during the day).
Next few days I just kept the soil humid, progressively lowering the pH of the water to arround 6.5, as I started off without lowering it.
Putting it outside arround 9 in the morning and bringing it in around 4:30.
Grew first 2 pairs of leaves.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome :)
Happy to say I've seen some significant growth this week, loads of new leaves and it's getting along nicely (I think).
This I might repot it sooner or later.
Any tips or comments are welcome!
Strong growth this week, really happy about it.
Germinated another 2 Quick Ones so might be updating/asking questions related to them.
Started developping a really small aroma, which is a good sign I would guess.
That's about it.
Still some nice growth this week.
Started feeding it with some nutrients I found in the garage, bad idea but that all I have for now.
Not seeing any bad signs for now which is good.
Planning on starting LST next week, and leaving it outside 24/7 in 2w, hopefully.
Regardless of the few issues encountered, it's been a great week. I've started feeding on a regular schedule, but I'm still experimenting with the dosage. There's also been constant growth for the leaves and branches, which is why I started LST at the weekend.
As for the issues (see last pictures), I'll start with the leaf miners, which is the first one I encountered. I squished them with my fingers and sprayed organic insecticide, which seemes to have gotten rod of them (even though I'm not sure they were leaf miners in the first place).
Secondly, some of my leaves have had the tip of their leaves brown a bit, but I read some bit and figured out it wasn't really a threat (again, this is my first grow so I'm not 100% sure).
Finally, I think I might have given it too many nutrients at some point, but I watered it again the same day to reduce the PPM, just in case.
If you have any ideas what the incidents might have been/be, It would be very helpful if you left a comment :)
I'll be planting it outdoors next week hopefully, as temoeratures have risen.
That's about it for now.
Great week, started with moving the plant outside to a sheltered yet sunny place.
No stress apparently.
Kept on feeding it, while increasing the dosages.
A few buds also started growing (as seen in the quite stunning last picture).
The plant seems healthy overall, and I am happy with how it's turning out.
Hey,
I've recently noticed some white spots on some of the leaves. They look kind of like paints splashes (even though I highly doubt that's what it is!)
I'll post the picture tomorrow (week 7) as it seems to not upload with the question somehow ?
if you're growing outdoors these things sort of happen, probably what's left of a small moth's cocoon , nothing you can really do against it and nothing to worry about. Hope this helps ! 🚀
They could be due to some tiny bugs under the leaves so check under the leaves.
If there are some bugs you can use some been oil mixed with water ( 10% neem )
The plant has been doing great this week, despite the high temperatures (> 30°C) during the day.
There's been some nice bud development, and the smell has been getting stronger.
That plant has also grown significantly after moving it from the pot to the ground.
Sadly it's been raining a bit these last days, but I'm making sure to shake the water off as often as possible.
Regarding last week's grow question, about the white spots, they have been washed away by the rain, which is a relief. Still don't know what they are though.
Might be harvesting in about 3 weeks ? Tell me what you think!
Have a nice day.
Looking Good! I wouldn't worry about the brown tip, most likely what you said a little heavy on the feed or it's touched the soil where there has been nutrients when watered. I have just hit day 16 with mine, 3 quick ones, they're doing pretty well I think. Looking forward to the end of the week. Good luck 👌
@RLewis, looking good outside buddy 👌 I think it's because mine are only 25 days old so still young, although 2 of my 3 girls popped pistols on day 24 😆 which I think will be interesting to see how far the 3rd lady is behind them.. Good look and happy growing.
Nice job mate! I’m growing for first time as well the “Quick one”, only at day 15, looks like yours at week 2 so hopefully we are doing fine!! Cannot give any tips to you, just sending positive vibes 🤙🏽🤙🏽
@Johnny420_pt, I had a look at yours, and I can't stoo but notice that, like most other quick one diaries, yours looks way "bushier". Mine is kind of skinny without many leaves I don't know what to do, or what I might cause it. Might be that I'm using natural sunlight ?
