May 24: it grew an inch today. Tried the CO2 shroud again. The pepper cage works well to open up bud sites to sunlight 🌞
The calcium citrate and kelp extract foliar spray seemed to help with the calcium deficiency. Foliar spray is used for cal-mag deficiency in tomatoes so I figured it would work. The best fix is preventative...dolomite lime in the soil mix, but the fast growth from CO2 addition seems to be what caused the deficiency.
May 25: grew another inch today so now 16 inches tall. Watered lightly with two calcium citrate pills (2*300 mg) and some Epsom salts in 1 L, plus 0.5 dose of grow nutes and 0.5 doses of flower nutes plus a teaspoon of molasses.
May 26: almost another inch taller today 🤠
May 27: another inch taller and more of the calmag deficiency. Adding calcium citrate and Epsom salt to water nearly every time but deficiency is still showing. Some of the leaf markings are due to spilled vinegar but most of it is calcium deficiency and that seems be due to fast growth lately.
May 30 now 18.5” tall. Using pepper frame to apply LST to keep it open to the sun.
Man that girl just hasn't been getting the uv she needs hey.. That's too bad.. Temps low? it's like not the temperate but the low uv index... Low light no crazy growing plant. You did good work tho.. Man mother nature what a pain..
@Northern_Ent, For sure hey. I got to do more outdoors plants.. It's really cool using the sun and having like a secondary garden for me anyway.. I don't like bugs but I guess part of me getting better is challenging myself so I will be throwing a couple autos outdoor soon. See you inspired me :).
@DeadwebsiteBoringcommunity, yeah it might be low UV but this time of year has the strongest light. We’ve had some rain lately but the sun is strong when it’s out. This plant started very slowly compared to some others autos that can handle the low temps better (Gelato, Super Skunk, Triple XL) so I think it’s the low temps. Flowering is going pretty well though lately.
Outdoor has its hassles, but it’s fun and the plants can get big.
@densesensi, I’m taking it down tomorrow morning. The plant is smallish but the buds have fattened up fairly well. Test smoke from an early bud is nice. My guess is 30-40 grams dried.
