The growth of this lady seems to be very slowly. Could it be related to the soil mix (buffered coco coir 40%, soil 35%, perlite 10%, bokashi 13%, bat guano 2%) that I´m using? Is it recommendable to transplant her to a new soil media? She is with a pink kush also with slow grow

I think you should only transplant it if it doesn't grow even for another week. automatic plants don't like transplants

JERgarden Well. I little improvement in the growth. I´ve topped her, and wait for a good explosion within next few days. I water her with a little of organic molasses to improve microorganism activity within the media.

JERgarden Nice week 5 for this lady. The good thing is that she still in the vegetative phase and growing nice, so probably the yield would not be that bad.

JERgarden Well. This girl begin to show some white pistils, so I think she probably enter to flowering next week. Overall, she looks great, good leaves color and no sign of over or underfeeding. However, I don´t know why she took so long to begin to flower. Hope flowering also don't take too long.

JERgarden Nice beginning of week 8. This girls so far havent ask for nutrients. The runoff Ec oscillates between 1.2 and 2, and runoff ph range between 6.5 an 7.2. I think she is growing nice, not as thick and robust as I want, but for sure coul give a decent harvest.

JERgarden This girl is still growing. Hope she stops next week and the buds begin to get fatten. Despite I broke one of the two main colas, the other stems of such cola begin to grow exponentially. Hope this mistake don't affect the yield of this lady. Despite Runoff EC is still high (ranges between 2 and 3 ms), ph is relatively stable (between 7 and 7.3) and the plant isn't showing signs of nute burn.

JERgarden Nice beginning of week 10 for this lady. Runoff EC still very high (EC= 3 - 3.5) , so probably won't feed her until one or two weeks. I suspect the reason of the high EC is the soil amendment (Bokashi plus bat guano), and now some leaves seem to be turning a little bit dark green without signs of nute burn. Ph is stable, ranging from 6.5 to 7. Nice trichome production of this lady.

JERgarden Nice week for this lady. Buds still fattening, and looks very frosty. Runoff EC still little bit high (EC=2) without signs of nutrient burn or salts build up (PH= 7). Probably feed her the next week with the bat guano humic extract that I´ve prepared.

JERgarden This girls has darkened her leaves a little bit. Fed her 6 days ago with my bat guano humic extract at an EC=1.2. So far she is showing a stable runoff ph (6.6-6.7) and intermediate runoff EC (1.1-1.8). I don´t know what kind of nutrient excess is she showing, since theoretically the bat guano is the P-rich one, with very low levels of nitrogen. Probably the cause of the darked leaves lies in a phosphorus excess. I will let her rest of nutes for one week and see what happens.

JERgarden Normal week for this plant. This girls has some yellowing on old and middle leaves. Considering the stability in the runoff ph (6.7-7.1) and EC (1.2-1.7), I guess this color could be related to a nitrogen deficiency. Moreover, In case it could be a magnesium deficiency due to an excess of P or K, I just add a little bit of epsom salts. Next week I´ll be checking trichomes.

Hi growers. Is this a nitrogen deficiency? Or Could be a zinc or magnesium deficiency? Currently at week 6 of flowering and givining to her a home-made bat guano humic extract. Thanks in advance.

Senescence (spelling). Plant is slowly dying toward end. Some extra N would likely help reduce that fade (bottom of plant and up yellowing and from tips in = nitrogen), but don't over do it if very close to end. The key is that a canopy of soem sort exists with soem green. Enough to finish powering it through. If you think it's fading too fast relative to when you are likely to harvest the plant, you do want to react to it, otherwise, it's normal and won't hurt you.

JERgarden Some bud fattening this week. Gave her a little bit of earthworm casting humus to provide a little bit of nitrogen. However, yellowing of the leaves continue, still the color is really beautiful. First time I let a plant without nitrogen since middle of flowering, and probably do it again with next crops.

Happy Harvest Day!

I consider this strain very strong. The fungus gnats infestation affected the cbd plants that were together with this plant. However, this girl did not show any sign of gnats infestation and growth normally. The early stress that I put on her early in her life (overwatering) stunted the growth, and It was reflected in the yield. However, 194 grams of wet weight is a decent harvest for an auto (not for this xl strain). Hopefully, I will get around 40 grams of dried buds. The smell of the buds are amazing, very citrus and fruity., with a lot of resin production. In two weeks I will be updating the smoke report.

Hi mate! Let me know if it was the guano:D i acedently closed the topic

JERgarden commented5y ago
@Hunteq, Hi mate. Yes, probably is the guano that is giving you such high ec values. How old are your plants? are they showing signs of stress? For now, just give your plants water, and in each watering give a good amount of water after the soil is dry to not stress your plants by overwatering. Probably the high ec values continue for a while, so try to not feed them with other stuffs. Take care, mate.

Hunteq commented5y ago
@JERgarden, thanks for the advice! Emm they have to become seedlings yet. They are in seeding soil in a redcup placed in the 25l pots.. think once they pop up i lift Them out and flush the soil. But i wonder if there would be Anny badguano left for the feedings
JERgarden
JERgarden commented5y ago
@Hunteq, yes mate. Try to flush your soil as many times as you can before transplant your plants. If u want to mix the bat guano from the beginning, next time just use it in the soil mix at 1% (in your case would be approximately 500 grams in 50L). I have 3 other cbd-rich plants that I will use to test my own liquid flowering fertilizer made with bat guano diluted with caustic potash. I think with this methodology I could control more easy the EC that I give to my plants.
Hunteq
Hunteq commented5y ago
@JERgarden, iam very curious What you pull off with that blend, never heard of caustic potash can you tell more?Think next time i go 150gr on 25l. A mate of mine told that it light alsof be something else in the guano messing with the electral field of the EC meter maybe i Let one Stay in it to be sure. Also i mailed pragron (the brand of the bad guano) that they'r max recomendations are brutal over kill even the 1/4 of it seems to much already.. i want compensation since nothing grows on it in theory
Hunteq
Hunteq commented5y ago
@JERgarden, btw mate, should i flush a lot at once or flush and wait till its dry and flush again. Or doesn't matter?
JERgarden
JERgarden commented5y ago
@Hunteq, Mate, try to flush heavy at least 3 times. Let the soil dry a little bit. For instance, last time I have to flush 3 times muy pots before the transplant. I stopped until the runoff ec of the pots were between 1 and 1.6 more or less.
JERgarden
JERgarden commented5y ago
@Hunteq, plants could grow in a soil even with an runoff ec of 4 or 5 (It happened to me with last grows with bokashi and bat guano as soil amendments), but for sure, it will give a lot of headaches (it definitely will raise your ph) and you will have to flush them a lot of times (put more stress on the plants). I just decided to low those soil amendments, and currently i will run a few growths without them. Regarding the bat guano with caustic potash, I found a master thesis (in spanish) that run some test with that combination in lettuce growths, and they find very nice results in the yields. They used citric acid to extract the mineral part of the bat guano, and use the caustic potash to extract the organic material from bat guano (I will use only the caustic potash). They used 100 grams of bat guano, 100 ml of potassium hydroxide (caustic potash), let them react for 24-48 hours (other researchers in other study let the caustic potash react with goat guano for 7 days), mix with 900 ml of water and then filtered to remove solids. This gave a very strong solution with a ph of 13, so you have to adjust the ph once you mix them with the water. For instance, I use 10 ml in 3 liters of water to obtain an ec of 1.2-1.4, but this dilution and final ec can vary depending on the bat guano composition (be sure your bat guano is phosphorus-rich one and not nitrogen-rich one). I have never used it in a full-flowering phase, yet I used it in the last 2 weeks of flowering of my meringue diary and buds fatten a little bit more, so for sure I will do the full test with this strain. Let me know if you need something else. Take care, mate.

@JERgarden, thanks a lot!! Good answers and defently mind bending about the mineral absortion, will Read more mate! Very curious about your aproach thanks a lot for sharing Today i started first flush.. the run off EC was Incredible.. 14.0 The ground EC was 1.2 right after flush. Sadly wil do it again.. my seeds have become seedlings and are doing well so far! Lucky me to place Them in redcups xD Will start a dairy soon!

JERgarden commented5y ago
@Hunteq, nice mate, Hope the best in your growth. With the bat guano mixed from the beginning I think your plant probably will ask for nutrients in the middle flowering as mine. The caustic potash is used to obtain the organic content in many guanos around the world, and I was told that some organic nutrients in the market designed for flowering used it along with organic molasses to provide the potassium needed to fatten the buds. Anyway, I will use it in small doses to prevent potassium deficiency during flowering, and let the guano and its nutrients do their thing with the plant and see what happens. I've used banana peel extract with autoflowers and didn´t see any improve in bud fattening, so I assume that their short-life cycle prevents such extract to act properly. Maybe it could be useful in photo strains.
Hunteq
Hunteq commented5y ago
@JERgarden, i think also mate, for that time i wil use some guano tea and some green Sensation at the last weeks. Also got my eyes on pk 13/14 but i think that the guano's taste effects are minimal Then. Your journey is really intresting mate! I gonna do something with this in the future. A mate of mine told me about the banana thing. But he didn't make extract het Just layd them around the plants, great results! Maybe its beter to use the banana's as this could it be? The banana produces Then more of that hormone or something due to further ripe
JERgarden
JERgarden commented5y ago
@Hunteq, yea, that way probably banana works better. Hope you get the desired results, and let me know if u need something else. Take care, mate.
