Greetings from Massachusetts! Last November residents of this state voted to pass Question 4: the legalization of recreational cannabis. We have been able to grow our own weed for just over a year now, and I’m on my third grow using a cabinet set up. This is the 1st time I’m documenting my experience, and what I’m attempting is an experiment that involves heavy defoliantion (hence the name of the grow). I’m using Oregon’s Only Nectar for the Gods sample pack, with Nectar #4 soil, and Photosynthesis Plus. These products claim you can’t over feed with them, or burn your plants, so we’re about to find out.
Merry Christmas! So this is the end of week two, so far so good. I transplanted into it’s final container, and fimmed at the third node on day 14. We’ll see how she recovers next week. Started full strength early veg nutes this week, and I’m not currently seeing any signs of burn.
Happy New Year! So I feel like I’ve definitely stunted the plants growth by transplanting and or fiming so early, which is kind of what I’m going for. I’m hoping for a compact plant with 4 to 6 colas. The idea is to keep it small enough to start another plant midway through flowering so I can get a perpetual harvest going.
This week I decided to top my fim job because it didn’t respond the way I wanted it to. Maybe because I fimmed to early, but moving forward I’ll probably stick with topping until I feel 100% comfortable with it before I move on to more advanced techniques. As the plant grows I’ll continue to remove lower fan leaves and use low stress training to try and keep shoots the same height and symmetrical.
It’s coming along as I want it to. I think she’ll start showing preflowers and stretching in week 6. I’m on track to have 4 colas. Once I know I’m in flower I’m going to start a second plant. Look out for that diary starting soon.
Started flush this week, and I plan on harvesting in three stages to let the side growth develop more. My next post will be my harvest post so it may be a little longer than a week when I update. In the 1st part of my harvest trichomes will be mostly cloudy with a few clear. 2nd I’m planning on mostly cloudy with 15-20% amber trichomes. And in the final stage of harvest I’m looking for 30-40% amber.
