So I decided to use Jiffy Pots to germinate this go around. This is my 2nd grow so still trying to find my best way.
Covid-19 got all the distilled water shelves empty in my city so i had to jus go with spring water. Dunno if that'll make a huge difference.
Took a couple days to crack so i got a lil scared and popped a second seed but then this one took off real quick and is showing some fast early growth. I have another strain starting from Ripper as well and yeah they both seemed to pop off before the other 2 breeders in my tent.
Might end up doing 2 of these, or give one to a friend.
I feel my last grow was stunted a bit due to waiting too long to transplant from 1 Gl pots, so this time i went straight into the big pots. just watering around the seedling to save on nutes.
Also went with a happy frog soil and Coco blend this time so im feeding light nutes from the jump.
So far so good. Might end up keeping this 2nd Acid Dough since i have a weird issue with another strain. Ive been just visiting my grow lately so my feed schedule has been a bit off but these ones are doing jus fine. :) I'd say Ripper Seeds' genetics are the truth!
These Dough Babies tripled in size this week... or at least the one that's a few days ahead did.
I have some other genetics in my tent that need to catch up to the Ripper stuff, so im def topping sometime this next week.
Hit a bit of turbulence this week with this Acid Dough. Leaves are getting some white markings randomly in the middle and edges of fan leaves. Turns out I had some fungus gnats. Put some sticky cards in my tent and I’ve caught some of those Lil fuckers. Hopefully they all gone now. Might order some neem oil just in case.
Topped this week, and then the other small AD went into a bigger pot but, I dunno.... it’s just a main stem and fan leaves. Up like 6 nodes already. It don’t seem to be getting any Bush. But that was jus my lil backup. I topped it maybe it’ll take. The main plant has taken some leaf damage but is still growing...
Went to town on these Gnats and their lil larvae too! did a water and hydrogen peroxide drench, sprayed the topsoil with some Neem oil in warm water, and been sprinkling diatomaceous earth on the soil and around the tent. Ive been using sticky cards but damn they always get stuck to leaves and cause alot of leaf damage themselves!
I just replaced all my sticky cards today so ill know next time i check if i got any adults come out the soil to play.
Hopefully they all dead.
This plant has been going from droopy to perky alot and im not sure if im underwatering due to being worried about the fungus and all that. In these pics she is currently droopy.
My 2nd grow so I no longer have beginners luck!
Topped again this week so we up to 4 tops. growth has slowed a bit.
This plant was a fast grower but the Gnat larvae has def slowed her down a bit. By the time im sure i have all that disease and bugs sorted it'll prob be a 7 week veg.
Topping the lil backup acid dough seems to have activated all them nodes and its starting to flourish.
Alright growth on these considering.
Plants seem to be taking well to the scrog.
Unfortunately I’m still battling gnats in my tent and this Acid dough prob taking the biggest hit.
Been trying it all. Peroxide, neem, DE, all that
The lil backup is getting more Bush.
Got the gnats to a controlled level. Added a layer of sand. Future harvest's Planticillan, and got some carbo blast in prep for the flower cycle.
7 weeks is long enough next week will be a bloom week.
I did see some fuckery on some new growth one lil leaf is all spotted and mangled up. gonna do some research....
Have seen some overall improvement of plant health on this Acid Dough. The lil one is no longer a backup. Looks like i'll just have 2 of these after all.
Got the gnats sort of taken care of.
Gave all my plants a coating of Neem oil and Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap. damn that neem oil stinks. Going into flower i don't want to have to worry about any more bugs.
Big first week stretch. This my second grow, and although my first harvest was a'plenty, these ones look alot bigger already! Gonna be some monsters!!!
That lil' one is jus as big as the other one now. buds coming in nicely, and everything aight.
Gnats are still present in low numbers and dont seem to be causing alot or any damage. Every 2nd straight water feeding i've been adding hydrogen peroxide to try and take out any larvae. Still dusting with DE.
Humidity was becoming a real issue for me especially on rainy days. I bought a better dehumidifier and have sort of got it under control. Have to dump it everyday.
These AD plants are tall! Def bigger than my other strains.
Everything going great with these Doughs in week 4.
Heat is starting to become a bit of a worry as its tougher for me to control in the summer. This strain seems to be handling temps over 30, but i cant seem to keep it down at 28 where i'd like. Also at night it stays hot even without lights.
Everything going well with these Dough plants. I’m surprised at how the little one that stated with no lower foliage has grown to be the largest plant in my tent.
Managing the heat and humidity this summer has been tough. But this strain seems good and resilient.
Did a lil bit of defoliation but maybe not enough. The plants are super healthy rn and with heat conditions not perfect I didn’t want to stress the plant too much. I did some shuffling in my tent but these 2 acid doughs I left where they were at the back. Just rotated them. These doughs are by tallest plants with seemingly the strongest stalks/branches. They are all able to stand on their own.
Got some amber trikes happening so halfway thru this week I decided to start flushing these babies.
Have a sick plant in my tent, not sure what is wrong so I’m just gonna flush and get these outta there soon too. I was hoping to push it long because I’m in favour of couchlock, but tbh these are ready I’d say. Big, healthy, I’m stoked to chop and taste them.
Everything is looking good after a week of flush. The plants are not really cannibalizing or anything, but yeah at the end of this week I chopped and started drying.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get temps low enough in the finish to bring out colours but these look good still.
Had a bunch of issues in my tent this run from mushrooms, gnats and deficiencies. This strain was a champ. pretty much no matter what was happening with my other strains the 2 Acid Dough plants were fine. I did however leave too much lower bud sites on there so i was left with a tonne of larf and my tops and secondaries were a bit light and airy. After curing the buds have tightened up alot though so we all good.
I would recommend this strain for its ease of use and its ability to fight off any issues you could throw at it.
but yeah... other than the fact i wasn't able to get the colours out at the end cuz of overall hot temps in summer, this strain was a dream to grow. If you want a creative, motivating Sativa vibe, this one is for you.
