So I decided to use Jiffy Pots to germinate this go around. This is my 2nd grow so still trying to find my best way. The Virus got all the distilled water shelves empty in my city so i had to jus go with spring water. Dunno if that'll make a huge difference. This seed cracked and sprouted real fast. First one of the 4 types I'm running. I have another strain starting from Ripper as well and yeah they both seemed to pop off before the other 2 breeders in my tent. This time i went straight into the big pots as soon as they sprouted. Just watering around the seedling to save on nutes. Also went with a happy frog soil and Coco blend this time so im feeding light nutes from the jump.

Okay so Ripper genetics and Brain Cake is good. Fastest growth ive seen. But HELP! I watered my plants yesterday and exposed some lil Yellow mushrooms growing under my soil/coco blend. I think i had been overwatering since ive been quarantined at my girl's house and going every 2 days to water. I've been feeding regardless of how dry my soil is. Ive lowered my humidity now, and im gonna let my soil dry all the way out before the next feeding. Ive scooped out the mushrooms and did some research. alot of people are saying its just a sign of healthy soil. TBH i find them unsettling and want them gone for good. Any tips in the comments are appreciated.

Okay so I found some little yellow mushrooms growing in my fox farm/coco coir blend. I did a quick google search and some people are saying its a sign of healthy soil and not a huge issue, but.. I don't like them and want to get rid of them. What is my best course of action?

Hi @GrowLikeYknow bro get rid of it, a mushroom is a fungus. you have good products on the market to get rid of them. this is what i use: http://www.agrobacterias.com/en/products/amanitha Fungicides are among the most toxic chemicals. Here are a few alternatives: * Listerine - Mix 1 teaspoon of Listerine into 1 quart of warm water * Hydrogen Peroxide - 1 Tablespoon per gallon of water * 1/2 teaspoon baking Soda, 1/4 teaspoon cooking oil in 1 quart warm water * All of the above recipes should be mixed directly into the sprayer and applied every 10 days or until there is no evidence of fungus. * Cinnamon powder dusted directly onto damaged or cut areas prevent fungus on plants. good luck mate 🙏👍

This Brain cake still looking good. One leaf has a hole in it. One of my other plants has some gnat damage I think. So I put some sticky cards in there and caught some fungus Gnats. Got rid of the mushrooms but along with those some gnats came I think. Hopefully the cards are enough and I don’t need to get neem oil or something. Topped this baby this week and included super B+ with the feed for added stress relief

Been battling mushrooms and Gnats. hopefully i got it under control. Using traps, peroxide, tried some neem oil, and been dusting with Diatomaceous earth. Topped again this week, got 4 tops now. Put in a net today, gonna get a good canopy goin and then once i know i'm good on the gnat situation I'll flip into flower. prob Veg for 7 weeks and have some monsters.

This brain cake doin aight. Growth seems slowed a bit but still chugging. Been working on the canopy a bit. Still battling gnats. Using diatomaceous Earth, peroxide drench and some neem oil. Damn that stuff stinks. I keep putting fresh sticky cards and they may have less adults stuck to em but there are always new ones popping up. I’m afraid to flip my tent to flower until I sort this out. I’ve got a lot of headroom so I’m not to scared of a big stretch.

Added a layer of sand to the top of my soil and did a Hydrogen peroxide drench this week to try to finalize fungus and gnats. Flipping to flower end of this week. I feel 7 weeks is plenty long to veg. I am seeing one odd thing with this plant rn. some of the new growth looks pretty dark, with yellow edges and lines. The serrated edges look extra sharp as well. I'm thinking its either a copper or zinc deficiency. Maybe due to the peroxide drenching... or i guess it could be light stress. What ya'll think?

This Brain cake doing good. Seems to be a bit of a late bloomer in comparison to my other strains. Buds are currently like half the size of everything else in my tent. Plant is a lil bit shorter than the rest too, but not a big enough difference that i need to prop it up or anything. Added Carbo blast and bud start from future harvest to the feed schedule.

Kind of odd that in veg, this Brain Cake was the fastest grower and was showing signs of being huge. The buds are developing slowly in comparison to other strains. Very small nugs. I'll do some more research on the strain, maybe thats a genetic trait. Might be that when I was going into flower i cycled my plants and put that one in the middle so it's possibly not getting as much airflow, or direct light. but it has light on each side so You'd figure it would balance out the amount of light or even get more. Plant is nice and healthy though!

I’m a bit concerned with the size of these buds. There is one cola that’s not too bad, but the rest are tiny. Maybe It is that the plant is in the middle of my tent and not getting as much light as the others. Might cycle the tent to share space and light and airflow.

So I thought maybe the size of the buds on this are due to it being in the middle and not getting enough light or airflow. I decided to move the plant out from the middle to get more direct light and give it some more space. Defoliated a bit to get some more airflow. Health wise the plant seems okay. Def not as big as I’d have thought considering this plant was FAST in veg.

I was hoping to get some cooler temps to bring out the dark purple that is inherent in the braincake genetics, but it’s just been too damn hot in these summer months. Overall the plant is pretty healthy, the buds are small but lil rocks, so the density might make up for the size when this baby hits the scales. Halfway thru the week I checked my trikes and was seeing some ambers, so I decided to start flushing. I ran a bunch of water treated with future harvests plant flush and then just straight ph’d water.

Chopped this week, started the dry/cure process. These buds on this brain cake smell fantastic! Small, but rock hard. The genetics are supposed to be super dark. I am getting some purp in there but the temps are too high rn to really bring out the colour. Will follow up with a harvest report.

Man this some of my fave sh*t right here. super couch lock, great sleeps on this stuff. has a nice lil rush that fades to a heavy stone and no paranoia. The smell and taste is super unique while still having a sweet fruity thing goin on. Im getting berries, fruit, lavender and mint. Seriously my only issue with this strain is I shoulda done 2 of em. The buds are small in size but they are nice and heavy/compact. Really nice stuff, just a small harvest. smallest of my whole run but possibly my fave....

Had a bunch of issues in my tent this go around. 2nd grow so i got the sophmore curse! The Brain cake didnt really get affected by any disease or nutrient problems. pretty damn resilient. This strain was so fast and big early in veg and i figured it was outperform in my other strains. In flower it slowed right down. probably cus i had it in the middle sharing too much light so i cant hold that against the genetics. It was the smallest yeilding plant of the group but the product is fantastic so I'm not mad at that. Would grow this strain again for sure.

Congrats mate! Looks like they packed some weight in the last weeks and those small golf ball nugs look top quality nice job! Shame for the low temps but you still got some color in there, most dosidos Ive come across still has green in it... Im excited to hear how she smokes and if its one of those flavors you just can't get enough off and still enjoyable for the last tokes :) Good luck with the cure

Hey mate nice diary im tuned in! They look near to perfectly healthy throughout your grow up to now. Indeed the brain cake nugs look slightly smaller.. I just started a brain cake in dwc but have a hard time finding info online on how it grows - it does say that she can grow big if you give her the space. Hopefully the end product will be to quality flower if she doesn't pull the weight! Good luck mate, can't wait to see how she turns out!
