Hi guys/gals, so this run I'm working with dry organic ammendments from Gaia Green a Canadian Fertilizer Producer in B.C. I am trying to keep things as simple as possible without synthetic nutrients. I'm just waiting for her little head to poke through should be any day now and then I'll post pics. Stay safe!!
Keep em popping

Hello π
I was curious with using the dry amendments, have you tried to do an ec or ppm test of the soil before or after adding any ingredients?
If you take a couple ounces of the soil and mix them with distilled water, let it sit for 24 hours and then strain through a coffee filter till clear, you can test that water to understand the ppm of the soil.
Unfortunately if you're growing "organically " the elements haven't yet been broken down so the ppm reading wouldn't be accurate.
@WeedTheNorth, i love this podcast by kisorganics.com the cannabis cultivation and science podcast. It's a lot of organic people on it and great info. Give it a listen sometime
@Experimentgreen,very resourceful information. I thought I should ask to be sure. I do appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. All the best!! π¨π¦πππ
@WeedTheNorth, so if you're not using any bottled nutrients, just dry additions then you should be ok to apply the same as a photoperiod, maybe just less often though. I say this because in an organic soil condition you've built all the microorganisms to do their jobs, if mycorrhizal fungi/ bacteria/ etc are in place they will break down, consume, dispose. Its like a tiny factory at work where everyones employee of the month. Lol
However if you are using any of these organics as a foliar spray....that i would dilute at a lower rate, 1/4 strength to start.
I'm not sure if the 8000 ppm was wholly accurate, also do you water with distilled or tap water? If tap, consider that water has a ppm value already before adding nutrients.
