Starting the next delicious batch of goodness!! Cheers to the Netherlands! I’ve been to Amsterdam twice and had an amazing experience both times! I’m excited to see what this seed will do for me and humanity!
Day 8: had to start another seed since the first one crapped out. Germinated in 24 hours!!! She’s a tad behind her tentmate, but she will be just fine, I think.
I had to help the seed shell off, but she is doing just fine and roots are starting to pop out of the side of the rapid rooter plug. I’ll be transplanting her into soil in a cup in the next few days.
Day 29: I transplanted to 1gal fabric pots and used fox farm ocean forest since I was out of happy frog. I also used some great white rooting powder to give them a jump start in the new soil. However, when I went to move the plant back into the tent, I grabbed the pot wrong and smears a snapping sound. I totally snapped the main branch!!! I immediately applied some clonex gel to the break and tried to prop her up. I checked later and she was dropping and I didn’t think she was going to make it. I checked the next day and you’d never know I broke the stem. She’s growing just fine like nothing happened!! Whew!!
Day 43: starting week 7! Transplanted to 7gal pots using great white rooting powder and watering with 30ml/gal URB and 15ml/gal molasses for plants to get the microbes going in the soil. They are very happy and looking good!
Day 50: starting week 8 of Veg! Did some tie downs and topped the second and final time to get enough branches for the scrog. She’s doing great and is a lush dark green. She seems very happy in her 7gal pot! This is the first time I’ve reused soil as it’s very expensive to buy new each time. I talked it over with a friend and he likes to reuse his soil after removing the rootball from the previous grow. I figure I’ll just have to add more nutrients than I might otherwise. They done seem to show any signs of deficiencies, so I’ll continue as normal and see what happens. Until next week!
Day 63: ending up week 9 with some lst tie downs. I’ve been very busy lately and haven’t had much time for my garden, so I made sure to get the branches tied down to prepare for the scrog screen next week.
Day 77: wrapping up transition week 1 of 12/12! My other tent had evidence of thrips, so I treated this tent as well. I called a local grow shop and consulted them and they seemed to think I was in the clear to lightly spray since I’m only into the end of the first flower week. I hope I got them all! Otherwise, she’s healthy as can be is filling the screen out nicely!
Day 83: we have a shooter! This beauty requires some major scrog tucking! Finishing up the second week of bloom and she’s as healthy as can be! The screen is nearly full and I’m already at the outer edges! Time to grow upwards!
Wrapping up the third week of flower. I’ll do a bit of defoliation today and open up some bud sites. Definitely have some shooters! I think she may be smaller popcorn buds, but we shall see how things develop in the coming weeks. She’s super healthy and growing strong!
Day 101: a bit late for last week’s update, but wow what a jungle! I wasn’t able to move things around anymore, so up she goes! Looking good entering the 5th week of bloom
Day 106: did a major Defol at the end of this week to get more light to the lower buds. What a jungle! I can’t spread the canopy any more, so she’s growing kind of wild. Going to be a decent yield from what I can tell! Smelling great in the tent now!
Week 16, day 5: She's looking really good now! I don't think I'm going to get huge buds on her, more small popcorn buds, but they look great! Very tight and compact buds that needed yo-yo supports from the lanky branches falling over.I may need to do another small defol as needed in the coming days.
Day 125. Flower week 7, Day 6. It won't be long now! She looks like she's a short ripening strain and I will likely begin flushing this week. I went one day too long between watering and the branches can't stand back up on their own, so I had to use a bunch of plant yo-yos to hold them up. I'll be glad when this run is done. She looks like a small yielder after all. Oh well.
Day 132. Flower week 7, Day 6. I think I may be harvesting this beauty today. I checked the trichomes again with the jewelers loupe and I see all cloudy, with some amber. I am really looking forward to smoking this strain!
A fellow grower mentioned this strain and I picked up some seeds on my next order. She was a little slow to get going, but she picked up speed and was eventually overtaken by her tent mate. I noticed she had longer branches with large node spacing, so the buds weren't tightly packed together. I wonder if there are other phenotypes which will deliver larger buds? I guess I'll have to try again! Great tasting buds and a real pleasure to smoke. I wish I had a little bit more than I do, I can see it getting smoked pretty quickly.
