Trying out coco, smartpots, and new seeds. Right now there's a Double grape and a Bubbly livers in the coco.
I've invested a good amount (extractor, cooltube, humidifier, airpots, coco...) to provide the perfect environment hoping to finally grow a decent double grape.
I've let one of my previous mutant run, and it's the frostiest m*therfucker i've ever seen, and it smells insanely good.
Setup:
hps 400w@55cm
Airpots 9.2l
Canna coco pro plus
Canna coco A&B, rhizotonic, cannazym, pk 13/14.
So far i've soaked the coco with coco A&B at 0.5ml/l and rhizotonic at 4ml. Should sprout by tonight or tomorrow morning.
I'm new to coco so any tip appreciated.
Update day 5 : so far so good. I've picked the fattest seed of the bunch i've received.
They already seem pale green but i guess it's more because of genetics than deficiency so early.
Currently at 0.2 EC of canna coco on top of my 0.4 EC water. Will be pushing it to 0.4-0.6 EC of canna coco on day 7.
Day 8 today! Upped the feed for both, 1.5ml/l of coco a and b. Right now i'm around 1EC, including my base water at 0.4 EC, around 0.4 of coco a/b and 0.2 of rhizotonic / cannazym.
They are both growing steadily. First set of leaf is complete, second one growing. Pretty nice start so far!
Bonus pic of my almost ready double grape.
The bubbly livers is doing fine, but the double grape is doing like shit. She's never happy, she goes from overwatering drooping to underwatering wilting, no in between. I'll probably kill her if she's small when she starts stretching. I really believe this plant can be great but it's a freaking russian roulette.
Week 4 is over. Nice growing so far, despite slight n tox. Might be because of bionova calcium, it's written as NPK 3 0 0 AND 8 0 0 on the label... I guess it's 8 0 0, and I should have reduced my N feeding.
They are starting to drink a bit more, i'm watering 1.5L and it dries over 40h. They're all the time drooping but I believe it's because of the poor start. Next plants are already doing better.
The bubbly livers is showing some great mutations. From splitting branches to 3 leaves nodes, it ends up in things like 5 branches from one node (2 tops, and 3 side branches, see pic)
Had to cut down the feed because of clawing and possible nute burn. I'll be Moving the light a bit further for the 6th week too.
Stretching is happening.
Going well. Slight calcium and magnesium deficiencies as expected. But still very green! I'm trying to figure out if I should defoliate the BL as I did in my previous grow or let her grow. I'm thinking of letting her grow since most budsites are on the sides, almost nothing on the inside. (Pic2)
looking healthy, despite some calmag def. i'm increasing dosage slightly everytime.
i've decided to try and compare canna pk13/14 with an unnamed pk 13 14 I used in my previous soil grow. it worked wonder and i think the bud fattening it slow with the canna one so far. bubbly livers gets the unnamed pk, double grape gets the canna.
Such an annoying week! It all started with calmag deficiency. Then, as they were not eating much, they suddenly showed heavy PK deficiencies. The next day, they both had something that looked like either boron deficiency or pH fluctuations.
Decided to flush both, give them a bigger feed in A&B, and calmag.
They seem to have recovered since then. Double grape suffered more than bubbly livers.
They're both getting fat, but the double grape is getting normal fat and extra frosty, while the bubbly is getting extra fat and normal frosty.
The DG smells very chemical for now. It has turned like that a few day After introducing canna pk13/14. Don't know if it's related.
The bubbly livers is getting really smelly. I can't really describe it. You can't smell the bubblegum, but you know there's something sugary in there.
With my sour alien livers reaching flowering, i'm getting a good idea of what the famous "livers" is, and I gotta say it's really a good strain to cross stuff with. I'll have to try more in the future.
Still trying to recover from light stress.
The Bubbly livers is doing quite well, no new def showing as far as I can tell. Smells like sugar, i'm quite disapointed that this "dank weed" smell is vanishing so fast. Getting a bit frosty.
The DG smells like... Actual shit/rot? At first I assumed I had Root/Bud rot. But there's nothing like that. I'm guessing the light stress + deficiencies fucked up the terps? Anyway, we'll see how it smokes, but right now I think this is gonna be extraction material.
Double grape is now flushing. She's around 50% cloudy so she should be mostly cloudy when she's done flushing. Using canna flush, cannazym and topmax during this time, cannazym because I want to reuse the coco, flush at the start to, well, flush, and topmax because she still smells terrible and I hope it can change the smell.
Bubbly livers is back on pk13/14, the phosphorus def is way out of Gand and she's still mostly clear. She's got a month left i'd say. Maybe 3 weeks.
The double grape is close to ready. I've sampled about a gram, smoking it right now, no curing. Can't wait to get the finished product. I'll cut her in a couple days.
The bubbly livers is getting there, i'll start flushing next feed. I'd say about 50-60% cloudy, hopefully she's 80+% when I plan to harvest her. She's showing some purple trichomes, to my surprise.
Hardest plant to grow so far. She's very picky about anything. Temps, RH, watering,...
I would recommend her only to the best growers. In better hands, she might be one of the best strains. I mean, the high is crazy, the trichomes are off the charts. But she requires some damn skill.
As for the product, i would recommend it to people smoking for recreationnal purposes. If you want to party and get stoned, this is for you.
However, i would recommend against it if you smoke for medical reasons. This strain does trigger my anxiety every now and then, and she prevents me to sleep. (Like, i get lazy but too lazy to sleep).
She's got a small grape sugar taste, but she's mostly earthy. Whenever i smoke a bowl, it really tastes like a kief bowl.
Weight coming soon, they've been drying for a week. The bubbly livers is coming down Tomorrow. And I already know I don't have enough jar. Expecting it to be my biggest yield so far. (Not hard to top 35g anyway)
Edit : weight is 36g. I've also been smoking it for over a week, and have small buds that are going to bubble hash soon, not on the scale. Pretty happy considering how troublesome she was. Now i'm even more hyped for the bubbly. 60g? 80g maybe?
Anyway, i've decided that the double grape is gonna be used for all the hash, dab and other extractions/edibles i intend to produce.
Very bushy, lots and lots of buds and branches. Responded perfectly to LST. I was learning coco and struggled early on, but she still gave me a huge yield! I did not use any boost, just canna coco and pk 13 14, plus supplements.
The high is really indica, hitting hard for about 1.5/2h. The potency isn't really big, but that's probably because I had too too much light in a small space. I also blame that for the lack of smell. It did smell great until day 70ish, then... Meh. All the top buds lost most of the smell.
Really happy with the strain all considered. I'll grow another one in the next batch with proper room, light and nutes.
Made some hash with lower buds and sugar leaves. Now that's one of the best hash i've ever smoked. The 25u bag gave a beautiful flexible hash, that smells and tastes so dank.
As I said, I did not have the perfect environment and was learning coco. I think i've got the hang of it now, thanks to this community and others. I'll start a new one soon, in better conditions. My goal is now the 100g!
I've had some weird odors from buds as well, but if they're properly dried and cured it goes away.
I blame the nutrients! It's easy, for me, to overfeed a plant from seed in soilless, and roots must be well washed at the end.
I'd love to grow organically in coco, but it doesn't seem to be work very well.
Now I'll try feed with biobizz and go low on the a+b (like a 1/3 of recommendations) looking for better smokes.

@Tesla, hopefully it does go away. If it doesn't, i've ordered bubble bags. Should give me top tier hash considering the amount of trichomes.
Yeah it might totally be because of me messing up the nutes. These plants are my first try at coco. I'll start flushing next week, maybe it'll start to fade away...
Right now i'm testing organic "nutes" in my other diary (cheese). I'll update soon but so far so good! I haven't seen anyone growing with it in coco but I asked a pro and he said it works in both soil and soilless. The trickiest will be to find the right calmag feed schedule.
Looking good. Some strains like a little more canna coco A than B in early veg. Are you planning on using canna boost or canna pk 13/14? . Good Growing :)
@Monkey_Magic, i do have the pk 13 14 and am currently looking into other boosts, not sure what to use since the canna boost is so expensive...
Thank you for the tip 🙂
@ForestGreen, nah dude I forgot the legend! It's from a freshly harvested double grape that has no diary. Felt like sharing her, sorry for the misleading !
