This will be my first grow. Keeping it small scale and budget as it is for personal use only. One seed was left in tap water overnight then transferred to damp paper towel. Covered between two plates and left for another 24hrs (re-dampened down after 12hrs). Day 2 - Transplanted to seedling pot using tweezers. Humidity dome added. Vents will be cut into dome each day. Day 3 - Head has popped out. Humidity dome vented now. Day 5 - Humidity dome off now. Lowered light as she looked a bit leggy still just misting twice a day as coco is still moist. Lights off for 8hrs a day now.

So today was I suppose classic newbie messing with the plant too much. I thought I could sink the stem into the coco a little so that it has more support but ended up breaking the stem. I rescued with a mini wooden spoon, some wire and sellotape. Overall she does not look happy at all!! Will check again in the morning 😞 any advice will be appreciated. No hate please, I realise my mistake but want to share for other first time growers. Lesson learnt, leave the plants alone! *** UPDATE *** She didn’t survive 😞 I’ve got another seed germinating overnight so will start a new diary.

Hi @Derbyspecks When plants are small they are quite fragile and should be treated like babies. these things happen, the important thing is to act quickly and fix the damage. the plant seems to me that it will survive, do not move it for about 3-5 days for it to recover, after about 7 days you can point a small fan blowing the wind gently so as not to knock it over and for it to shake slightly and gain strength in the stalk, the more the plant shakes the more the stalk thickens and gains strength. good luck mate 👍
