Starting off a new diary and a generation of cloning. This is a regular clone off of one of the fast flowering photo period testers by FastBuds. FFT3 is projected as a 49 day flowering sativa/indica. I started off the first five fast flowers, and ran into environmental and noob troubles. Of the five, FFT3 was one of the first to do well and go to flower, and thus one of the first I cloned. I only got one. What I can tell you, FFT3 is decently strong, in that being somewhat successful in my grow says something. Second, nice round buds with wonderful citrus smell. I have not got to harvest as of this writing. I will be harvesting the parent of this clone st about eight weeks. I transplanted to a container of BX Pro Mix and side filled with a mix of 10 parts BX Pro Mix: 5 parts worm castings: 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog soil. My tent is 4’ x 4’ hung mylar DIY with a 300 actual watt full spectrum LED with a smaller pod 1/6th that. Day 46 and here we go! Fast? A little chilly near the floor but it is spring and so hoping my temps climb.

Day 53 for this FFT3 clone, a fast flower photo period from Fastbuds. Just slowly creeping along and getting established. I’ll give just water for now so nothing major to report.

Day 60 since FFT3 was cloned. I transplanted this week to a large container. Very clear it was early, the roots not so developed, but I wanted to use the original container. I feel some LST coming on. I bottom filled with BX Pro Mix and then side filled with a mixture of 40 parts BX Pro Mix: 5 Fox Farms Happy Frog: 5 worm castings: 1 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 1 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 1 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Blood and Bonemeal pellets: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 alfalfa meal compost: 1 pulverized egg shells.

Day 67 since I cloned FFT3. There were specks on the leaves that were objectively previous damage or from nutrients, however I felt there was also pest damage. I examined and spotted an aphid or some preliminary stage. I’m doing well with my tent so I occasionally try to treat everything for pests now and again. I use ethyl group alcohol, moonshine, distilled above 90%. It discourages or kills pests, and it evaporates faster than water at room temperature. If you saturate too much it will cause some leaf damage, I’ve shown that in pictures, I went heavy with spray yesterday to be proactive.

Day 74 for this FFT3 clone. Its really starting to spring up. I haven’t removed any of the damage from last week, I’m due for some defoliation and cleaning up. I will be taking clones as well, maybe even LST. Gotta be less lazy. Just water as there is plenty of soil amendment.

Day 82 for the FFT3 clone. I cleaned it up by trimming, proactively treating for pests, cloning, and tying down. Still just giving water at this point in time. I can’t wait to start giving this strain out to people (flavour-wise).

Day 89 for this FFT3 clone. Tough to show in pictures but this one is really hitting overdrive now. Super wide wing span. Seems to really be taking off now. The stem has gotten much larger and the branches are just bending straight up. I want to do more LST but I’ve been busy, seems a shame to top. I may just clone and flower (eventually). Still just giving water.

Day 96 for this FFT3 clone (by Fastbuds). Some unexpected happenings, I have a new flower light. I want to get this shibang going so I threw FFT3 into the other tent. I made room, and the room saved in veg is appreciated. I made sure to nab some clones before doing so. Another tester was looking shaky so I did take the opportunity to give this one 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow food with Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Hopefully this is an appreciated boost into flower. Lets take a moment to give shout out to BudXs and Hellishjam, two great Canadians who deserve some likes. Shower the love and check out their grows. Superb dudes.

Day 103 for this FFT3 clone. One week of flowering complete. Fastbuds lists it as about 49 days, in my experience I harvested a week later, so call it a 7-8 week window. Seven weeks remain. This is a 600 watt Vivosun HPS setup. Still adjusting to the benefits and drawbacks compared to LED, for example taking photos. I have experimented with plastic filters and have been shown some cheap products, for now just taking pictures with my phone with “dramatic” effect seems to be the best combination of colour and resolution for now. I’m not lugging them in and out based on the location of my tents. I will also shout-out to Hellishjam and BudXs 🤙🏻🇨🇦 who are constantly supportive and encouraging. I’m in a whole new ball game with the HPS, so I am surprised by the lovely stretch that FFT3 underwent. Just really flexing and getting ready to flower. I am only giving water as needed to this point.

Day 110 for this FFT3 clone. Two weeks flowering, I’m going to try for six weeks more. I have still only given water, I am going to apply food next irrigation. This plant majorly stretched under the HPS. Because its a fast flowering type, you can see the buds already in two weeks.

Day 117 for FFT3. Three weeks of flowering complete, about five weeks to go. I fed much earlier in the week, 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Last irrigation was water. A big feeding coming in the next day or so. This plant really got its stretch on, the two main stalks are so tall (comparatively). Mites are all over this one, an ongoing problem. Help is on the way, ladybugs airlifting in... well not that dramatic but it will be a lovely meal.

Day 124 for this FFT3 clone. Four weeks of flowering, four weeks to go. The mite infestation continues, and its brutal. Ladybugs arrived this week and are on their way to clean things up, but these things take time. Ladybugs don’t cover that much ground nor do they smoke weed. Patience is a must here, even as things get worse. I fed some 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz this week, with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I can see how strong it is, as a few days later the leaves are praying. I’ll be sure to dilute or make sure I don’t overdo it.

Day 131 for FFT3. Five weeks of flowering complete, three weeks left. The pest wave hasn’t improved much. Overall, FFT3 was getting the mites later and so the progression is delayed. Other parts of my tent improved and I moved some plants outside. The ladies have been munching away but the cat and mouse of populations leaves this in pretty bad shape still. I am really copping out with photos this week, just one general shot and mostly copy and paste description. Sorry not sorry. Midweek, i expect to move FFT3 outside to get picked apart for at least a week or two. I did give some 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom (and blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag)), but it will be water here on out. The food is likely a waste just given the plant condition.

Day 138 for FFT3. Six weeks of flowering, two weeks to go. That timeline is obviously altered with the mites and everything has happened. I have put FFT3 outside with the group of infested plants, and nature has taken its toll already. The cobwebs were quickly rained away. I don’t see many ladybugs hanging around. I will go through an intense wash cycle in a few weeks and lets see what we can save, the flavour will be largely scrubbed. Not sure how much these buds will finish outside mid summer.

Day 144 for FFT3. Seven weeks of flowering complete, I was aiming for one more week of flowering, but it would be best to harvest now. Not only does this devastated specimen have nothing left, but I believe it could be reverting back to veg. I will only wash and harvest the very tops and the biggest clumps of bud. I am not expecting much and will compost a good portion of mited or damaged product. If its not vapable I’ll just chuck the product.

This is a FastBuds 420 photoperiod tester, FFT3, a regular clone that I took. I sort of rushed the early life in terms of transplanting and enacting plans. However, nearing pre-flower readiness and stretch, this plant took off. I was quite surprised how much stretch I got under HPS, but also just in general compared to another Fastbuds tester I had going. Just as I was about to see major growth and trichome development ... the mites exploded. This outbreak is documented on other grows, and these two plants were collateral damage. Its amazing to see that in two weeks the infestation moved and overtook FFT3, visible mites and cobwebs everywhere. Just as it was about to bulk up, already limited with how little leaf matter I gave, the mites shredded the leaves and that was it. I eventually received my ordered ladybugs which tackled some of the population. I then left FFT3 outside in the Canadian Maritime summer climate to clear out the remaining. Not an ideal finish but it better allowed me to clean up and salvage. I budwashed more than usual, detailed below, and did get product. More than other mited plants, FFT3 was stringy, brittle, and not much bud or bag appeal. Compared to the seed iteration, less trichomes because of mite activity. Overall, it suffered. I had another tester salvage this incident with much better quality. With cobwebbing and then budwashing you lose and scrub some outside flavour, usually the highly aromatic. Its clear FFT3’s selling point is the citrus, but if this is tainted there isn’t much else behind the strain. I got the faint citrus aroma, but upon grinding and vaping the lack of smell, smell of curing, and just bad life cycle made vaping bland and fairly unenjoyable. The high is moderate, not really what I’m looking for. Sativa leaning, but not strong. I certainly liked FFT3 when I did the full grow cycle from seed, but a mite war doesn’t produce great plants. Even moreso, the genetics can’t really stand up to concussive incident damage, and the smell is delicate - easily tainted. So, this clone experience was one of my worst during the Mite Wars.

I have an overall photo of the budwash cycle, following being picked clean by nature and predators outdoors. I added the first step because of the mites, as opposed to rejecting the whole crop. First container holds 1 cup hydrogen peroxide, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice concentrate, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and 20 Liters of water. I tossed all the bud in, fan leaves too, and sloshed everything around and let it soak as I trimmed the bud. As each bud was trimmed I then swished in the first bowl which is just water, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice concentrate, and 3 tablespoons of baking soda. Final step is rinse in water, the last bowl, then hang to dry.

Your plant is suffering from over-watering or being to close to the LED! Check out my grow to see what a healthy Sativa should look like. #I Luv Relativity...#Fuck Quantum Mechanics!
