Scent Society! Banana & Bomb

3.3 | Lets count this as day one, plants are looking like shit but gotta start somewhere. 0.7 EC seems too high for the plants to root and I had to dilute that down. 9.3 | Some of the plants are showing first signs of healthy growth.

12.3 | Feeding the plants super low EC nutrient mix to make em root, backside Tropicanna Banana is rushing in growing speed. Still waiting for proper roots.

29.3 | Day 26 Still going with the low nutrient feed, burned the plants at week 3 when I tried to raise EC too fast. Tropicanna Banana has ran over Strawberry Lemonade which never just seemed to pick up the growing pace the others took.

6.4 | Day 33 You can spot the damage of mixing up too strong nutrients, also had a ph meter breakdown which made checking PH little harder. Plants are going to be moving into flowering, so starting to up the nutes slowly this time to avoid any more damage ;) CalMag added to the feed.

8.4 | Day 2 Flowering. Flipped to 12/12 yesterday, far red lights in use straight from the start of flower, turning on for 10 minutes after lights on cycle. Plants are already starting to stretch, raising the lamps as needed. Cleaned up the plant bottoms. 9.4 | Day 3 Plants are praying to the light, happy sight after all those problems in veg. Next couple days just checking how swapping to flowering affects the plants. 13.4 | I brutally took out all possible shitty stems from the bottom that might grow up to be larf. Also had to cut out Strawberry Lemonade out of the system, since it just never grabbed the growing speed. As you can see plants are stretching quite a bit, I hope my tent is tall enough for these ladies.

16.4 | Stretch for plants just keeps on going, turned up the power to around 300 watts, waiting a week or so for the stretch to end and then go full power. 18.4 | Plants keep on stretching, gonna start using yoyos to pull the longest to the corners. Flushed res, testing if plants still burn with 1.2EC. 20.4 | Yay its 4:20 today! I just dont understand the stretch the plants are throwing, nodes have like 30cm between them. Might have to do a tent switch for the system, I have a taller tent without use at the moment so just need a friend for help.

21.4 | There is still some old roots from the strawberry lemonade I pulled out so took out Torus today and added 2ml/L of Liquid Oxygen into the res to clean it up a bit. 23.4 | Moving the NFT system went great, first I emptied the reservoir then used string to tie all the branches together. After that was done, it was time to remove the other led panel and trellis net from the tent poles and off we go. I still have some space to lift the lights if these plants are still gonna stretch, starting to hope that it stops soon 😝😅 24.4 | Removed massive amounts of fan leaves and bottom growth which barely touched any light. Still feels like I left too much but we will wait and see, my first time letting plants stretch this much. 26.4 | Tiny leaves are already starting to fill the open spots in the tent, im pretty satisfied to the amount of leaves I ended up taking off. EC is at 1.0, plants are happy with it. Gonna ask a friend over these upcoming days to lift up the lights to the tent roof and completely remove the light hangers to gain some space between the canopy and lights. I would like to see my canopy at 27-28C, extra 5cm does exactly that. Sit tight, we have a exciting run to come.

28.4 | Day 22. Raised the lights to the max height by myself since I couldnt get a friend to help. Lots of sweat and grunting and it came out nice, now I cant raise the lights at all. Moved carbon filters position also just a bit, had to get those panels to fit. Plants are 145cm tall, im hoping this is the final height since I already got some bleached tops since the leds were 5cm from the canopy. I dont wish to get white buds so gotta keep a little distance between lamps and canopy. 29.4 | Day 23, Res was almost empty so filled that up. Currently sitting at 1.2 EC, added some RAW Silica, Humic Acid and Kelp into the res also with normal nute feed. Checking if the plants can take the 0.2 higher EC, pretty sure the plants are starting to need more nutes from now on. 30.4 | Day 24, Didn't notice any tips more burner than last time so gonna continue with 1.2 EC. 1.5 | Day 25 Res was getting kinda low so I filled that back up, crazy how much these plants drink. Filled the res back up, now with 1.3 EC. Noticed some spots on top leaves, gonna keep my eye on those. PH was at 6.1 before topping the res, not sure if that had anything to do with those. Anyways, keeping my eye on that. 3.5 | Day 27, funky shit is going on with the leaves and its time to clean the res today. Will go back to 1.2 EC since I didnt have any problems at that point. Also tried to dim down my leds but somehow managed to break the screw inside the driver. I gotta go buy a new Kill-A-Watt meter to check out what wattage was it left to. 4.5 | Day 28 Changed and cleaned the res with Liquid Oxygen, toned PH down to 5.3 and EC to 1.2. Gave the plants 1ml/L of CalMag Agent and lowered Micro dose to 0.5-0.7ml/L, since many leaves show very dark green color and some of the new marks on leaves & stems could indicate that I have Calsium defiency.

7.5 | Day 31 Im kinda sad when looking at canopy level leaves, tested EC at 1.4 but that didnt work out, started to raise immediately so backing it down to 1.3. Nothing much, just moving forward, not sure what to expect. Took out the whole LED drivers from the tent top and checked the dimming screws again, managed to turn those to 140w each. With this im trying to reduce the amount of bleached nugs, these top nugs dont like too intense lights right next to em.

13.5 | Day 37, Time is flying and plants are starting to have some nugs growing. Noticed some foxtailing on highest canopy level, also the krispy leaves are not making me happy. Leaves are dark green, so im gonna chill with the high dosage of N, since plants probably wont be needing that much in late flower ;) 17.5 | Day 41 Made a crazy nutrient mix, kelp, humic acid, silica added to the normal mix. EC was 1.5, trying it a bit higher just for a day, dropping tomorrow if plants react too strongly. Im ready to take this plant to 12 weeks if necessary, had a couple friends over to describe the smell of the nugs, other said it smells like bedbugs backside and other said it smells like fruit salad. Lets wait and see! Sticky traps are getting nice amount of gnats away from flying in the tent so Im really happy I bought those stickers.

19.5 | Day 43 EC hasnt started to shift after trying the new mix in the res, still keeping my eyes on the plants nonetheless. Starting week 7.

26.5 | Day 50 Going to start lowering the mix in the res, little by little. Buds fattening up, really loud smell when I open up the tent. Kind of a brown banana smell, not sure what to think about it! Its diffrent thats for sure. 1.6 | Starting to end the week, diluted the res EC back to 1.3. Plants are pretty much on autopilot, just checking the res water level and ec every couple days.

3.6 | Day 58 Noticed some more burning on leaves at 1.3 EC, so backed it to 1.1 EC. Smell is developing into more milky banana ice cream mix, which is very pleasant. 8.6 | Day 63 More frost coming to the buds. Dropped EC to 1.0.

11.6 | Day 66 Nugs have a really nice red tint to them, gorilla bomb is soo frosty I cant wait to press that into dab 😍 I hope ill get some nice summer smoke out of this grow, nugs have super potent smell and it really sticks to your clothes, might wanna bring a spare set if you gotta smell fresh ;) PH 6.2, EC 0.7. Took some nute water out, replaced with just plain water. Swapping the whole res tomorrow 👌

15.6 | Day 71 Grow is coming to an end, starting to see some amber trichomes when closely checking out the nugs. Chop is near, giving the tent all the days that it need, at this point I dont mind waiting a couple days for really hard hitting weed. 19.6 | Day 75 Today was the last day of this grow. Plants chopped and hanged, most of the larf I just tossed in the black hanger, not worth using my time trimming those. Now we wait for the yield 😇

During this grow, I played around the relatively long stretch these plants gave me and im going to use less far red in the future with possibly stretchy plants. I continued this experiment with my other 4x8 grow, and found out that shorty bushy strains really get the kick out of the extra far red at the end of day cycle. So, even after all of the new stuff this round was a success, my gpw for the tent was at 1.7 which broke all my records earlier on. Smell of the nugs is something I had to get used to, such violating scent out of these nugs just amaze me over and over again. Strong recommendations, this goes on my list of strains to try v2 at some point. ;)

Also had really strange bud structure, might be cause of too much Nitrogen in the stretch period / too much far red. Didn't get as big of a pheno as last time I grew this strain in coco, going to move forward from here, Gorilla Bomb has served its purpose.
