Coco/perlite (70/30 ish)
This is my second ever grow, the first one I tried going organic, made my own soil and it was fun but I messed up nutes in flowering and ended with a low yield.
Decided to try Coco coir with minimal reading and now finding out this is possibly harder than organic, so any tips are welcome!
Happy so far, seeing how she reacts to a little more nutes
Waiting on cal mag!
Trying something out as I have the wrong nutrients for Coco (some say wrong, I say food is food), I think the plants will still get what they need if I keep the dosage really low and keep a close eye for deficiancies. Coco loves to suck up all the calcium so I'm adding alg-a-mic (algae is high in magnesium and calcium, can't guarantee anything but worth a shot), the acti Vera and biogrow give a good spread of other beneficial nutrients according to my research.
The Coco mix I accidentally made is more accurately 30% coco pith 30% Coco bark 25% Coco peat 5% perlite
When I prepared the big pots I soaked them with the seedling strength nute solution until there was runoff before transplanting. (I think I soaked them a bit too much tbh)
Bottom of the pots have stayed moist but top half of the pots are quite dry, not worried yet but haven't fed them much at all just in case, no wilting so far and Sandra by far seems happiest with my efforts.
Think I finally got a good mix for nutrients. Been waiting for this calmag forever and gave up, got some epsom salts on day 13 and I think it's made a massive difference.
Looking forward to next week.
Much happier with growth and leaf colour this week. Now I have an alright nute base I might try adding in something new to tag in the last few minerals I'm currently missing.
New week
Not much to say, worried she'll go into flower next but hopefully not, should have a good 2 weeks. Calmag arrived so I've adjusted nutes again.
The colour of the leaves is beautiful and she has a weak smell now also I'm attempting some lst for the first time with this little lady and the 8ball kush.
Lst seems to be working without slowing them down much, got some baby stems but which hopefully grow out a bit more next week before going into flower. I lost a bit of time with her but any yield is a good yield tbh.
I have 3 plants, 2 photoperiod and 1 autoflower, all feminised as far as I remember.
The autoflower will go into flower soon, will it affect the other 2 plants?
the autoflower will go into flowering based on time, so it won't affect the other plants if they stay in the veg-cycle based on the amount of light-time it gets per day..
on the other hand if you flip to 12/12 to get the photosynthetic plants to flower, then it means the autoflower will only receive light for 12 hours, and will therefore not grow as much as if it had gotten 18 hours or more..
New colas imminent :)
Very happy with growth, training is scary. I keep pulling her and she pulls right back... Never thought I'd say this but lockdown actually is giving me some sweet observation time.
Up'd nutrients and feeding amount, feeding them every 2 days atm.
13/5 added biobloom, got lots of new nodes coming through, hoping to get them out from under the fan leaves this week but all depends on her.
15/5 definitely going into flowering :) I think I'll get 5 bud sites if they all manage to come out.
16/5 took off 1 fan leaf near the bottom to make a bit more space for another stem, hope it doesn't bother her
17/5 bit of defoliation today, never done that before, see how it goes *shrug*, just glad she got this far after all the earlier problems
19/5 Buds started forming 2 days ago, full on flowering nutes now, got 1 main bud and looks like 3 other forming :)
20/5 soon as a stem gets long enough I'm attempting to pull them away from each other
22/5 I haven't slept properly in a while, fed the plants some dubious feed and amounts last night so no feed today
24/5 there's a new stem, growing pretty fast
26/5 buds are fattening up, I thought they wouldn't but they are!
The stem has split, new part growing very fast :)
Just hope the heat doesnt fuck them up too much
2/06 about 2 weeks to go, had to change light schedule for my other plants. Buds aren't growing as quick now, I wont grow autos with photoperiod in future but she smells great and is getting really sticky already.
4/06 think I've overdone it with nutrients a bit, realised there's no way I can feed plants of such difference size the same way (seems obvious now lol)
So flushing with ph'd water and a little calmag
8/06 Flushing now :) I added too much nutrients, leaves are still pretty dark but hopefull they'll start to lighten soon. Happy with the bud development considering she is definitely stunted :)
11/06 smelling good, very herbal with hints of citrus so far, looking forward to how it changes. The buds seem to be doing better since starting the flush. Looks like they should be ready to harvest next week, got a little microscope coming to double check but trichomes looking good from my camera
13/06 still not there yet but so close!
16/06 going as planned. I think 5 days at most and ready for the chop :)
20/06 gonna go the the chop today. It's been a while not sure how to go about it yet, will post results later :)
I want to try growing stress killer again because I messed up on so many things but the bud came out pretty good.
It gives you a sort of background high, you definately feel it but it's more relaxing than anything.
Used the trim to make a glycerin tincture, which is the bomb. 35mg gets me pretty stoned and is AMAZING for pain relief and inflammation.
No paranoia or anxiety from this strain and shockingly, it seems to be making my dreams extremely vivid.
Good effort, not the best result but I'm still enjoying my harvest.
Buds aren't completely cured yet but still taste and feel 100x better than what I can buy.
Will be growing stress killer again soon hopefully
@dalilama,
Ive been alternating the weak solution and ph'd water because I'm growing in coco.
I read an article saying its fine but keeping a close eye just in case
