Purple Haze auto from sensible seeds grow number two.
The last seed in a batch I bought.
6 hours from water to sinking and then tap root within 18 hours, this girl is just begging to grow, so quick I only put in a small for a few days and shes nearly outgrown it, I was a bit busy at the time, shell be moved to a bigger one in the next 24hrs
Tap root was 10th today is 18th.
I'm looking forward to her sweet smells through the house soon
I'm trying not to tamper with her too much. althougthat said, I've never tried topping yet and I feel tempted.....
Yeah let's get our first top done, I've got a Wedding cake strain I have started which I'll leave alone instead...... Honest
a quiet week really, just letting her grow out.
did a bit of super cropping (stem snapping), and I also started to tuck back some of the bigger fan leaves away from the bud sites
I'm not took her out to photograph this week because I was a bit over enthusiastic with the super cropping and May have also underwater her (its hotter than usual where I live) but she is a strong strain, I know from my last Original Sensible Seeds Purp auto grow.
I trimmed some bottom leaves that were dying as they are no longer in use and out of the light.
I also tucked back under her own stems, some of the fan leaves covering bud sites. I haven't trimmed them with my thinking or opinion that she can eat them/use them/take nutrients from (I hope that makes sense) herself for her final push during budding. A turbo of sorts.....
I may be wrong but that's my thinking.
A good week.
Then again any week that doesn't have problems is a good week.
Which is what I have just had.
I have trimmed some lower dying leaves that were no longer getting any light..
I have super cropped 2 stems just to help shape her in the small environment.
I have tucked away (rather than remove) any leaves that are blocking bud sites.
I have noticed she is a very thirsty girl perhaps just noticeable next to her white widow sister.
She's stiffened up like a tree, she probably won't change much now except for stretching upwards so this will be her final shape really for the next few weeks, while she buds up nice and fat.
Crystals are showing around the bud sites
A fair few week off yet unfortunately
Another standard week with not much too to mention.
Trimmed anytime leaves underneath the canopy that will no longer getting any light.
Tucked back any leaves that were covering bud sites.
She's a thirsty girl I've just been giving her water recently I'll probably give her one more nutrition feed and then stay on water until harvest
I've trimmed around bud sites and any small stems that won't become worthwhile buds.
She's a very thirsty girl and drying pretty quick compared to my other grows.
Her first orange pistols have shown today but not in the photo as they were taken yesterday.
Still a few weeks for this girl.
There are the first signs of orange hairs on her buds.
I've cleared excess leaves below the canopy and any buds that are to small to be worth her or my effort, I'd rather she plumped and fattened up what buds she already has.
I've also chopped away and widen her spread total any blocking of "worth the effort" buds.
Supercropping has paid off, giving more room and of course, no effect to the girl whatsoever.
Hardly any change this week on the Purp..... except fatter buds of course. Only a few orange hairs still, so probably a few weeks from harvest yet.
She's only been on water ( no nuits except homemade) for a few weeks now as I thought she was ready to flush but alas there is still time.
No trimming or defol this week just left her to blossom
This is my second purple haze from sensible seeds.
I love the short size of her. Well suited for my small stealth DIY tents I scatter around the house.
A strong plant that takes a beating. Even the old snapped stem is not a problem
Not much change except some fan leaves yellowing which is a mix of the plants end cycle and erm...... I may have missed a water or two.......
She's a big drinker in a small pot so should be watered daily.
Buds just keep getting fatter and fatter but I think next weeks diary may be a harvest.
*Edit: dry weight and pic added 41.6g on the scales, plus a healthy 15g..... erm... product testing.... ahem!
I''ll call it 2oz dry all in. I'm happy with that.*
My second Purple haze auto from sensible seeds and again very happy with the plant. I have so many more strains to try, so I may never grow one again, but if I could only grow one strain again, from my short experience this girl would be the one for me.
I could have harvested this girl a few weeks ago but I thought I would risk a few more weeks to see how her buds developed.
I certainly made the right choice in doing so as these buds just got fatter and fatter.
I trained her with a mixture of lst and the now traditional for me super cropping.
I have had a shape her due to limited space in the grow cupboard to a more rectangular shape maximise the canopy size for the light. I have shown this in a video on my Bruce Banner #3 diary as Mrs B is being shaped.
My biggest buds to date without a doubt. Hitting 200g wet with stems my fingers were aching holding the stems while trimming so they were very bud heavy.
probably 50cm tall max from soil to top bud and a canopy space of around 60cm x 40cm available to her.
Grown under 3 x £1 / €1 / $1 Standard shop bought LED bulbs (cool white and warm) around 10w each converted.....
...Sorry light companies...
I think this a good yield and a proud growing moment personally.
I do often say that I will update when I have a dry weight but I don't honestly think I have yet.
I will still make the claim don't hold your breath.....
