- week 2 of seedling stage, same nutrients as the first week
- distilled water is being used for all feedings because EC is 0
- nutrient solution above was mixed and each portion of feeding was diluted with regular distilled water until the desired EC and PH was reached
- initial nutrient solution was PH'd to 6.0-6.1 then would usually raise to 6.2-6.3 when diluted
- feeding took place twice daily and EC was slowly raised (nutrient solution less diluted) at each feeding by approx EC 50
- EC was built up daily over the week until EC 1000 was reached
- so for instance on day 8 seedling was fed 1x @ EC 450 then later @ EC 500
- the same through the days up until day 12-13 when the nutrient solution wasn't diluted at all and EC was at full strength for the solution above (approx EC 1000)
- the seedling started showing signs of a Calcium deficiency (twisted leaves/discolouration)
- a CalMag solution was made @ EC 800 and PH 6.2, placed in a spray bottle and gently misted onto the leaves
- the deficiency seemed to clear up by day 14 or so
*** A personal observation I witnessed was that the humidity was too low and the seedling seemed to be slowing in growth. This was because I removed the humidity dome due to the fact that the seedling was stretching too much and I wanted to get the light a few inches away. The humidity went do to between 50-60%. After a few days when the seedling stopped stretching I placed the humidity dome back and got the light down almost touching the top of it and the seedling EXPLODED in growth over the last several days of this week. It was a huge improvement and I learned that humidity is important to seedlings.
Can you identify this small yellow flower coming out of the top? Is this a 'nanner'? Foxtailing?? It appears under the 2 colas that are underneath the strongest part of my LED. Light/heat stress? I looked at it closely and it's not a pod or anything.. just an extended growth.
Let's say you're flushing a plant with plain PH'd water 2 weeks before the breeders reco finishing time but she doesn't finish and keeps going.. Do you feed with more nutrients again or just keep going with the water only?
I wouldn't even flush, since all evidence about flushing is anecdotal, only perceived experience no hard evidence, so in my opinion just keep it going, if you want a true flush rip her from the ground at the end and set in a vase with only water.
Hello. You have a plan. Stick to the plan. Did you take a clone? Try flowering your next grow longer. If you've flushed, and near the end you need to harvest. Looks great by the way. Good Luck. Chuck.
@Belverde, Thanks for the comment. I'm really excited about this one. From what I've seen from Barney's Farm genetics I think this will be another strong performer if I can get the training done correctly. Will be my first attempt! I will remember not to fly a plane after smoking π Cheers!π
@TonyTrichomes, And rightly so!! π. It must feel so refreshing knowing you don't have to worry about a crazy law for a plant!!! Enjoy it all my friend πΏ
@Bushbaby808, I feel your pain bud.. Hang in there and hopefully one day things will change where you live. When they passed the laws here for legal growing I jumped all over it! Oh Canada!!
@Bushbaby808, Cheers! Ya man this is my first time trying out the popping & twisting (HST) on the stems and I really think she's benefited greatly from it! I did not notice the same reaction from the other strain I am simultaneously growing beside her but that strain has a bit more sativa dominance in terms of plant structure and just happens to be a lot more tall and skinny.
Looking great man. I've got one of these ladies in her last week of flower. I'm real excited. I found her really sensitive to pretty much anything. She didn't like a lot of nutes and suffered with calmag issues in mid flower when the others in the tent didn't. She smells unreal so I'm sure she will be worth the extra attention. Good luck with the grow mate π
