This week was a poorly planned week for all of my plants (read more about that in my Blue Amnesia Journal). These seedlings were ready to be transplanted earlier in the week. I had purchased some Rain Science Grow Bags that came in a little later than I had wished so the seedlings had to sit a little longer. I could see one was getting a little stressed out as the tiny leaves were starting to droop a little bit but she hung in their with some very long exposed roots which really made me worried when transplanting. I apparently am a notorious over waterer. I heard these bags have good air flow. I used a 50/50 mix of Fox Farms Ocean Forest and Coco Loco. the Coco Loco was a spur of the moment purchase after talking to an employee of the store.
Side note, my local hardware chain stopped carrying Fox Farms products this week. I had purchased a bag of Oceans Forest earlier in the week and assumed they would have more. I was wrong! I had called multiple stores in the area and they either stopped carrying their products or have sold out. Everyone is becoming a frantic gardener right now!
After a mad dash to find soil I transplanted these seedlings just yesterday. I hope they make it!
Still having an issue with these got dang fungus gnats. I finally picked up some neem spray and it seemed to knock down the population but I think I might have to do a soak at this point. The neem oil seems to be leaving a little residue on the leaves I should probably wipe off but they seem to be moving along.
These guys are starting gain some height! very exciting. After getting my watering under control, and a few mists of neem oil, it seems as if the fungus gnats are all gone. I removed some of my companion plants as well and everything seems to be going much better. Not sure if I want to do any training or topping on these guys. Might just want to watch the autos do their thing. I ordered a bunch of seeds from seedsman 4/20 promo so i'm eagerly waiting their arrival. This week i'm going to try and document what i'm feeding. Biggest struggle right now is just getting my watering under control. Seems so simple... and it is but also fairly simple to over water. Also looks like the white bag one is showing signs of flowering already.
Looks like one of the plants stretched a little bit do to PH imbalance but I used some binder clips to keep it some branches down and it looks like it will pay off in the long run!
I had 2 of these plants growing at the same time with one Blue Amnesia Auto from MOC. Both Skittlez were super easy to grow. They both took a little bit of a beating between overwatering, ph imbalance, beginner LST, and probably every other inexperienced mistake possible, and still turned out pretty darn well. one of the plants grew stunted but developed extremely fat buds which was awesome! Around the onset of flowering I decided to put in one of my old UFO LED light in there, I read that the further light spectrum would help. I have no control for experiment so I can't say for sure if it made a difference but the harvest turned out great. Let them dry for about a week in the grow tent before letting them cure in jars with some humidity packs.
