Alright GD Family!!! This BKG Grow is to highlight that you can have a successful cannabis grow for under $125!
Germ Date: 1/7/2018
Everything required for this grow will cost you very little, but will require some elbow grease:
1) Pics 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 above shows my Grow Room Setup:
On the Right Side I have a Reflector series 4'×2'×6' grow tent with a Mars Hydro 300 True Watt LED Light, But for this grow we are on the Left Side which is just silver reflective wrapping paper($3.50) taped to the walls with a Maravi 250 True Watt LED Light($50.00). I use 1 fairly powerful desk fan($15.00) to circulate the air between the 2 grow compartments. DIY CO2 Generator is just a recycled 2liter bottle thats filled 2/3 of the way full with sugar water($.05) and mixed with bread yeast($1.00). Poke a hole through top of cap so fish tank air-line($1.50) can be pushed through and run to above the plants with an air-stone($1.00) so CO2 which is heavier than oxygen will breakdown and sink into plant's leaves.
2) Pics 6, 7, 8 and 9 above shows my Grow Pot Setup:
1 5gallon bucket($3.00) with 1/10inch holes drilled on sides and bottom for air/drainage + 1 Plant Saucer($3.00). Natures Care Organic Soil 5gallons worth($5.00); Fill bottom of bucket with 3 inches of soil and then place 3 eggs($.50) before filling rest of bucket with soil. This gives many necessary nutrients and promotes a healthy bacterium within your soil.
3) Pics 10 & 11 above shows Seedling freshly germinated on 1-4-18:
Seed(Dinafem Sour Diesel Auto from SeedSupreme $13.00) germinated directly in the soil of prepared 5gallon bucket - There is no true need to start germination in water/paper towel or to start in a small container like a solo cup, Planting directly into final pot works just fine.
4) Pic 12 above shows BioBizz Nutes:
Good organic nutrients are the 1 variable you cannot skimp on - This 3 pack($25.00) comes with Bio-Grow, Bio-Bloom & Top-Max which are more than adequate for your grows needs.
5) Pic 13 above shows my big helper:
Hans the Shepherd and 1 of our 5 kitties Arya!
Thanks for all the amazing support and for every Follower! This community/family is what makes this all worth while!! (Well, That and love for Bud!)
There is nothing I like more to see them a budget grow :)
Some growers put way to much money into equipment and don't do very good. When they would have been better spending less money and learning how to grow :)
You are off to a great start and I'll most definitely be along for the ride and watching with interest mate!
This is going to be a fun one and will show you don't need all the expensive equipment and still get great results :)
Will pop back in on the next update mate until then thank you for documenting your Dinafem adventure on the grow diary platform :)
All the best
Mark..
@biggreens420, Thanks! I can envision this working out really well... But then again, this was just a complete test and we'll have to see! Love growing Cannabis 😉
Good diary brother nice explanation loving this one nice and cheap glad your sharing this with the community true u don't need expensive stuff just stuff that works and knowledge to go with it
@biggreens420, Thanks a ton! I looked and didn't see anything similar on GD (not that there isn't, I just didnt find one) so I thought to try it... That and I wanted to expand my Grow Room in a cheaper, more DIY way lol!
Looks like you've gone out of your way to make a very in depth and beautiful setup here. This should produce some absolutely wonderful results. Best wishes on growing this lovely girl. Cheers!
@DabCrab, Thats incredible! I have a fairly good grip on the science of the grow, but mainly stick to the major points necessary for a decent yield. Getting an even better understanding can only make me better, more efficient in the end so I'll be checking those out!
It's amazing to see a grower really dial in a grow... Paying direct heed to each variable from CO2 to Spectrum to advanced training techniques and truly maximizing the entire structure from root to Bud! It brings out a side of this wonderful plant that can only be achieved with that kind of dedication to detail - A remarkable and unmatchable beauty!!
On the same note though, Its also amazing to see an enthusiast discover that getting to a successful grow can be done without that much effort, and as result start their own cultivation!
Both avenues of this glorious herb are profoundly spectacular! If only the world would take an hour or two to get to know her for all her wonder :)
She looks great. Very interesting pruning and training that has resulted in some other worldly symmetry and shape. She looks awesome and I can't wait to see how this one turns out!
@Zannabis7, @Rtush, I got myself confused and mixed you and Rtush up on the question! I took a nice Wake n Bake dab of some Hash Oil I made from my Amnesia Haze Harvest a couple days ago... Whoa is it good, but heady!
@BudKingsGrow,
I did not stop, I took a break during the holidays but I restart very soon I just received my seeds (mobydick / remo chemo from dinafem) 😊
soon the beginning for new adventures ! stay tuned ! 😍
Another killer diary/journal entry from one of GD's best! The sour is looking both sweet and sour 😎! This one looks like she could produce a nice yield. As always, much respect and continued best wishes on the grows!
This is a KILLER looking grow. I see some experience shining through here. Nice job! As you know, I am attempting my first "topless" SCROG (trying to bend instead) with 6 different strains right now. I'd be interested to know more about the tent stake technique to allow more light to side shoots. I don't want to top the plant, but I might like to try some LST in addition to the SCROG. Any advise would be appreciated and welcomed. Thanks man! - Zannabis7
@BudKingsGrow, That is likely the best answer and feedback you could have provided. Thank you! I come from the same mindset, listen to your grow and it will slowly tell you what it needs. Trust your intuition and the cannabis goddess will slowly reveal her secrets! Namaste my friend! - Zannabis7
@Zannabis7, Thanks Man! I really appreciate the encouragement (we all could use more positive energy right?!) Just know that although I am passionate about Cannabis, I'm in no way an expert lol! But for real, There are TONS of training techniques being used nowdays... It is almost an overload of information that makes it hard to judge what you should try. And our Ladies are valuable so its hard to make a mistake lol. But if one is careful and listens to their Girls for signs of being stressed out, these plants are pretty hardy and will take quite a bit of experimentation! Especially external physical items like training. Take 30 mins and sit with your Gals; Really look them over and watch how they grow, and with some practice you will be able to tell how far you can bend a branch or if a certain training style is right for this grow. The tent stakes aren't really significant- They're just another way to secure a branch or stalk where we want it. But I will admit, I find they work extremely well when Shes still small or for training techniques like Mainlining which is close to soil. Anyways, I'll leave you with this; Your grows are off to a great start already and I'm sure whatever you decide to do, Your Ladies will do their best to impress you
👌👍 Well rounded setup bro! Interesting techniques with the soil, like placing the eggs. Direct seed plant is also working great here, just add soaking to the mix. :) Hope for a flawless grow! 😎👍 Happy growing cheers!
@BudKingsGrow, yap depends on the seed origens too, like old seeds are better to scarify, before the germination process, i just activate them with soaking for 12-18 hours, then direct soil plant, plugs did not perform well here.
Cool technique do the eggs get enough time to decompose? I have seen also a combo with a banana. Happy growing enjoy 👍🏻👊🏻👍🏻👊🏻
@CANNASIM, Thanks Man! Appreciate the feedback too! I've had mixed luck with soaking my seeds for some reason. Not sure if there's something I'm missing in the process, but I end up not germinating. I see so many other Growers having great success soaking seeds so I know it works well, just cant seem to get that one right lol! My Grandpa taught me a lot about gardening when I was young and he would always seed his raised tomato beds with eggs - Said it was good for flowering. Have done it in every one of my grows and haven't run into any issues so I just keep the tradition rolling 😉
@smokevera, Morning! Ah, Gotcha! That's pretty rad that Mars Hydro has someone on GD helping out! I've honestly had nothing but success out of my Mars Hydro 720watt LED... It's efficient, easy to use, and produces excellent light par levels in my Grow Room! I only wish I could do a much larger setup running 3 or 4 720's!
Thanks for chiming in and for your support of Growers on GD! (This platform may be in it's "Teenage" years, but it has a lot of potential to drive the Cannabis community forward, while encouraging new Growers, and making good profits all around!)
@BudKingsGrow, Morning! I have no grow journal, I'm Vera from Mars Hydro, so if you have any issues with the Mars Hydro light, you can contact me, I will do my best to help you!
@smokevera, Morning! Thanks for popping in and the encouragement! Will give weekly updates for sure, so thanks for following 😀
On another note: Where are your Grow Diaries? I noticed from your Profile Activity that you are with Mars Hydro, Is that true? My Mars Hydro 720watt light (not used on this particular GD) is the foundation of my Grow Room! This light has produced excellent grows for me time and time again - Very Excellent product!!
Wow! That it's a very interesting journal man. We are growing the same string at the same time, you as an experience grower amde on my first grow. Super interring to see the differences and what can be done. For sure I will be following this journal to take some notes and learn.
Cheers!
@FrostArg, Thanks much! I may be passionate about Cannabis, but no where near an expert yet!! There's always something new to learn about these Ladies, or some surprise they have for me that I've never experienced before! To me, being in there with them and taking their cues is some of the funnest parts about being a cultivator... Even when mistakes are made! I checked out your grow and She's gorgeous! It seems like you have learned a lot of valuable experience already that will filter down to all you future grows! Keep up that good work 👊
That early training which was very expertly done is now starting to pay off as we're are roughly 3 weeks into this flower show.
You have a beautiful canopy with multiple budsites getting ready to explode.
Super work so far my friend!
All the best
Mark..
