So started feeding with nutrients every other watering. Speed of growth has definitely increased but I’m slightly worried about the yellowing and the edges of my leafs curling a little bit. If anyone can give me some advice as to what I’m doing wrong or what I can do to fix it that would be amazing! Also slight brown marks on the very edges of the leafs as well. I’m a total novice and it’s a matter of little gear and no idea but I’m trying to work with what I’ve got! However, I’m finding it very satisfying and a bit of a release from work in the NHS. A nice smoke and a healthy plant is all I want at the end of day. Like I said any comments bad or good totally welcome. 👍

Growing a northern light auto. It’s currently at 5 weeks. Has my plant gone past the point of return? Shall I give up and try again?

Not likely.. Looks like major light burn... that's why the leaves turned white. Also, see how the leaves (therefore, nodes) stacked directly on top of each other? You shold only have a pair of leaves (later just one on a more mature plant) at a node. It looks like you have 3 or 4 pair all coming out at the same location. Not being mean. These are things you can observe and react to now. A new seedling needs light, but not torched. Within a day or two you'll move that light from 30" to 24" or so (ymmv - LEDs are usually this distance, for example). If you see it stretch, you know to move it a bit closer, but don't drop the light too fast or too far the very first day. If it makes you feel better, my aunt did this her first grow too. Once you find that 2-4" range of a sweet spot (like 20-24", not 2"-4"), just let plant grow into it and raise 2-4" at a time. autoflower? it's toast... you have ~5 weeks or a bit more left. It won't do anything useful in that time. Just for experience, try to raise the light and get it back into health. I'd raise it to 30" initially... allow it to recover for afew days and see if color starts coming back... even then, wait for some stretch before lowering it back down to ~24" (or whatever is suggested for your type of light source) May only harvest a few grams, but you'll see how it ripens, maybe get a look at some trichomes with a jeweler's loupe to guage ripeness and learn for the next one... If you have another seed, you should feel safe that you won't waste it planting it right now. that thing won't take up any more space, for the most part.... even if it does you'll favor the new plant 100% for certain. Allow the plant to dictate what you do. Watch how it racts when you change things... keep it simple. And, defintely keep that light further away... significantly further.

Hey! You might have been a little early with the nutrients. Autos do well with just pHd water until they are established. They have all they need to get them going in their first leaves which will fall off when they are no longer needed. So you probably could of held off for another week. Don't go crazy on the nutrients to start, work them up. Its best not to upset autos in Veg when the clock is ticking till flower. Also if you can get a PH pen, you can pick one up on amazon relatively cheap. Better to be accurate and you will need one down the road, this hobby is very addictive! My first grow I used the liquid dropper and it was a nightmare. Im no expert but hopefully that helps

@Sophilli, just the cotledon leaves, not the true leaves

@Autospud, I didn’t realise that it’s normal for the first few leafs to fall off - I assume that’s why they’re yellowing. Thank you so much for your comment, you’ve been a massive help!

If you are using soil there should be enough nutrients to just to feed with water for the first couple of weeks... In coco there isn't any nutrients so soon as you plant your seed you have to feed accordingly

@Sophilli, biobizz lightmix is ideal especially if you are planning to use biobizz nutes... My lsd 25 didn't get her first nute feed until day 28, she started to flower day 27.... Soil has every thing a seedlin needs.

@Geordiejesus, I realise this now, thank you. Next grow will be in soil. Any type of soil you recommend?

Hey man, I fucked up around 15 plants with coco. Same problem being stunted during first 2 weeks of veg. I think its always 2 much or not enough nutrients. In my case I just binned all of them at week 3 and start again. Dont touch coco any more, just soil mix. No problems, no headache

I'm sure you can't run organic nutes through coco.... You have to feed coco straight away as there isn't enough nutrients in the growing medium... You plant looks like it is seriously underfed.

I’ve chucked it out. Thank you everyone for all of the advice! Today I’ve started germinating strawberry gum auto - advanced seeds. I’m growing in soil this time and have raised my light as many people have recommended. Fingers crossed it goes well. I’ll start my diary once it’s popped!

Forgot to mention, I pulled off the dead leafs at the bottom. Weather it was a good idea or not, I don’t know, but hey ho!
