2nd grow after a first unsuccesful attempt (practice makes perfect !) 4 seeds (2 northern lights + 2 quick ones) indoor pre-vegetation (until the end of week 2) under a 60W white lamp (approx 14/10 schedule) (about 5cm distance from light) once night temperature reaches 18-20 degrees celsius, I'll transplant them in bigger pots. medium : coco mixed with organic soil (40/60 partition) let me know tips for outdoor growing if you have some ! thanks and happy growing to y'all End of week 1 edit : very good week overall, didn't think the 60W light bulb would be so efficient with growing my seedlings. 1 more week, and they will be ready to be transplanted outdoor !

Day 8 : I decided to transplant one of the NL because it started to outgrow its old pot. Besides the transplant I LST-ed it (photos on day 8) The other seedlings seem to go fine under the 60W light bulb, I hope I will be able to transplant them at the end of this week. Day 9 : First day out for the transplanted NL and it seemed that it was way too early for her to get exposed to the direct sunlight. As a unfortunate result, she suffered from a severe heat burn :( I decided to put it back indoor next to a window and give her a good watering (I didn't do it after her transplant), she seems to have recovered from it (photo). I am aware it will heavily affect her growing, but at least she's not dead. The other seedlings are still on a 14hrs light schedule under the 60W light bulb, hope they will be prepared for their transplant and outdoor transition. We'll see in few days. If you have tips to help the seedling that suffered from the heat burn, let me know in comment ! End of week 2 : all the 4 seedlings have been transplanted in their new homes (5L pots). As the temperature is much better (even in night time), they spend all their time outdoor from now. Next watering in few days. Let's see how fast they'll grow ! The first NL that suffered from heat burn seems to slowly recover from its injuries ... I'm quite pessimistic regarding this seedling, but let's see.

Will the seedling recover from its heat/light burn ? When going outdoors, do you usually place your seedlings under the direct sunlight ? Current temp in my location (22°C day/15°C night) Thanks in advance !

Nothing too bad happened. She will bounce back. She needs to develop some more roots now to become strong. Keep her in a sunny place behind the window in room temperature and after 2 weeks she will be ready for the outside world😉

End of week 3 update : Well, lot of things happened during this third week : - firstly, one of the NL died following its heat burn :( RIP mate - but on the other hand, the 3 remaining seedlings are doing super great due to the perfect weather in my location. They are enjoying sunlight 10 hrs a day, and they even stay outside at night due to nice temperatures. - the remaining NL is doing very good, its growth is super fast I'm impressed. - I decided to replace the NL that died last week with another seedling (also NL from RQS) that also spends all its time outdoor (day/night). Looks like it's enjoying sun too ! This one is approximately 2 weeks old. - I'm considering starting to use a generic chemical nutritient with 1/4 the normal doses next week on the older seeds to help them getting bigger and stronger roots. Happy growing to you all !

End of week 4 edit : - Pretty good week in terms of weather (sun and temperature), all plants are doing great as you can see - The Quick ones are already showing pistils which is very exciting ! they are much smaller than the northern light that is doing pretty good too - Overall, the main evolution I'm seing is how reinforced the stems have gotten, this is incredible. - I'm starting to using a general organic nutrient (NPK 3-3-3) with 1/4 the normal doses next week, I hope they are going to love it ! - I'm also thinking about LST one of them, just to try it (never did it before) Happy growing to y'all !

End of week 5 edit : - average week in terms of weather (very windy and rainy/cloudy), but still very good in terms of growth because of the stable temperatures. - I decided to LST 2 of the plants : 1 NL (the younger one) and 1 QO. Still, I don't think my LST technique is good enough, let me know what you think about it in comment (see photos) - overall, the plants are still growing very good, I think the QOs are about to flower, which is consistent with the harvesting planning RQS presents, very good news ! - I also decided to feed my plants with a generic organic NPK (3-3-3) nutrient I found in my local general store, no nutes burns visible so far, I think I dosed it nicely. - 2 waterings this week : one on Monday (1L/plant), and another one on Saturday (2L/plant because of the heat, the medium was pretty dry) Happy growing to you all !

This NL is about 3-4 weeks ; I only tied up the top of the plant to the side of the pot. Let me know what you think about it

The plant react to what you do in predictable ways.. the only concern is root structure.. as long as it is robust enough not to deteroy itself as you bend it down and add pressure to that area, then it is all good. An anchor at base of apical meristem is a good idea. give it support from the opposite side -- don't over do it or you add just as much stress pulling the other way, lol... try to even out the pressure from where you bent the top down to the opposite anchor side. you lower a terminal, it will cause auxiliary growth. you cut a terminal bud off, it causes redistribution of resources+growth elsewhere -- more so on the immediate branch below cut. Want somethign to grow faster? make it the tallest growth or at least higher than it was.. tie it up to opposite side branch and get them both going vertically.. they'll start to catch up. shape the plant.. manipulate it.. do as you want :) it will react in a consistent and predictable way once you observe it enough it's just clockwork to you.

End of week 6 edit : - terrible week in terms of weather (cloudy, rainy and windy) - I think I did the LST too hard on the NL#2, it suffered a lot from it (dry leaves, pretty bad coloring) - I followed the nutrient planning this week with the same amount, the plant seem to like it - the QO definitely started to flower, which is very exciting - the NLs are still in vegetative state Let me know what you think about it in comments, happy growing to you all !

End of week 7 edit : - pretty good week weather-wise ; - good flowering for QO #1 and #2 ; - still on the same nutrient planning, might raise it a little for week 8 ; - QO#3 which is 3 weeks old (average) has been transplanted in a new pot (5L) ; - strong citrus smell coming from the early QO buds, it is wonderful. I think I might be able to harvest in a month !
