I will grow this blueberry along side my Girl Scout Cookies - auto, which has an 8 day head start. I plan on giving the autoflower the bulk of the light until it is ready for harvest, than after harvest I will provide the blueberry with all the light I can. My reasoning for this is that the GSC-auto should get pampered as much as possible throughout its shorter life, while the photo period blueberry can tolerate sub-optimal lighting conditions for some time. By not waiting until the GSC has run its course, I should harvest the blueberry much faster. Unlike the first blueberry seed I attempted to sprout, this one germinated nicely in a heated rock wool cube. Besides a slight complication with the root being exposed, not much has happened within the first week.

There is a timelapse of this past week! This plant, the blueberry, is in the background. Early this week I transplanted the rock wool cube into my DWC system. I pH'd the water, but otherwise did not provide nutes for a few days. The grow tent is now on an 18hr light period. Sometime in the middle of this past week, this blueberry started wilting! In response, I provided the nutrients listed above, with the addition of 1 gallon of (hard) tap water to provide calcium. Unlike my GSC, the nutrients did not fix the wilting, but the wilting did go away after 2-3 days. I had some humidity troubles, so I resorted to flooding the bottom of my tent. This does seem to help maintain humidity around 50% RH. This plant is growing asymmetrically! It's first set of "real leaves" is not even. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

What do you guys think of the leaves on this plant? She's about 2.5 weeks old in DWC. The newer leaves are looking a little light green in color, especially when compared to my GSC. Should I provide more nutes? You can compare the lighter leaves to the darker set lower on her.

This entry covers days 15-23. Same as last week, there is a timelapse! I hope you check it out. (Timelapse to be added ASAP! The internet is too slow to upload it now! This past week I've upped the nutrients to about 410 ppm. This is a stronger nutrient solution than the one I used for my GSC at this age. I decided to up the nutrients so much because I noticed my leaves were a bit light in color, which I thought might be because it was lacking enough nutrients. Unfortunately the leaves are still this same light green at the end of this week, as well as some light splotches. Today, day 23, has seen some confusion. I found what I thought to be root rot, but turned out to be a nutrient buildup. I treated this using Jef79's suggestion of rinsing with water than matches the pH and temperature of my reservoir. I know the brown roots were from this nutrient build up because simply rinsing them helped a lot. After resolving this issue, I bound her down for some low stress training.

This entry covers days 23-30. This week has been rather confusing for my blueberry. She is quite wilted and has light green splotches on many of her leaves. Her roots are tangled and slightly brown, but I don't believe there to be root rot, rather a nutrient buildup on the roots. I've attempted to fix this issue by rinsing the brown parts of the roots to clear off which has produced clear results in the roots, but the leaves are still wilting. Perhaps my nutrient ratios are off here? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

My plant has these issues. I've rinsed off the roots in case it was nutrient buildup on roots, which I still believe to be the case. I have given this plant a good amount of nutrients the week before. Does this appear to be a deficiency? Any ideas? Thanks all for responding

tough one. Either pH or nute concentration? if the roots aren't scummy or slimy, you don't have a microbial problem. if they were slimy, that's more likely a cause. i'm assuming it wasn't slimy. Like you said, you've feed well, possibly too well. Back off for a while with a very low mix - same molar ratio. dividing grams or mL won't always do it, but could be good enough in many cases.

There is a timelapse of this week, Blueberry is in the background. This entry covers days 30 - 38. This week has seen violent acts. I've topped the blueberry. She's doing well! I've started to give this plant less light so I can give more energy to the flowering GSC auto. I'm not sure how much this will stunt my plant. Lately my feeding schedules for both this plant and my GSC auto are obtained by following the GH Flora Series recirculating feed chart on the General Hydroponics website. I put the amounts they suggest for 1 gallon, but I use 3 gallons of water. So, I give the plants 1/3 of what the feed chart recommends. It's worked well so far. My plants are thriving, and I haven't seen signs of nutrient burn. The only deficiencies I encounter are Cal Mag. I remedy this by mixing in some tap water with my RO water.

This entry covers days 38 - 45. This plant is brittle! I've accidentally bent a branch, and snapped off leaves. The most troubling thing was accidentally SPLITTING the plant down its main stem while LSTing her! I've used some ties to secure the top so it can heal its wound. She's doing great now. I believe this brittleness is the result of me providing insufficient light, in favor of my flowering GSC. After realizing this I've nudged the light over slightly in favor of the blueberry. Besides for its overall brittleness, the plant looks very healthy.

This entry covers days 45 - 52. This plant is growing quite asymmetrically due to her older sister shadowing her. This week I've topped for the second time. The growth from each node is not equal. I've noticed the roots are starting to get brown tinted, and smell slightly. I am afraid root rot may show its head soon, but until it does I will continue to give beneficial bacteria. I wish I could keep the water temperature lower than 75 degrees. I am just realizing just how long it will take this plant to flower, upwards of 8 weeks! That may prove to be an inconvenience, especially if I hold off on switching to 12/12 until after I harvest my GSC.

This covers days 52-59. Not too much has happened with this plant. I've gotten pretty lazy with the LST because most of the plant is unreachable, so it is very asymmetric. I hope this won't hinder the plant too much! I have switched from tap water for cal-mag supply to using calimagic. The dosage may be too low, but time will tell.

This covers days 59 - 66. This plant has overgrown its older sister. I am seriously reconsidering how large this plant will become by the time it is mature. Hopefully it can fit in my tent! I've paid minimal attention to the plants this past week. This one is growing quite quickly without signs of any deficiencies. The plant is growing very unevenly.

This covers days 73 - 80. I've switched to 12/12 light cycle. The plant will surely be large enough! Its large size continues to shadow my flowering autoflower. The easy fix to this is to simply LST the plant by taping the wire to the tent.
