tdriver The seeds have sprouted after 5 days (good seeds from Royal Queen Seeds) they have been placed into the pots in the tent and hand watered at this stage - have started the lights.
At the end of the first eek the seedlings are now about 5 - 6 cm in height - still hand watering with full strength nutrients
No sign of roots protruding from the bottom of the of the basket as yet.
Both plants are looking healthy
tdriver L/H seedling looks a little distorted but still healthy - R/H plant has now produced roots from the bottom of the cage.
Have moved light to 58cm and turned on the bloom side of the light as well - was reading that some growers leave the lights on bloom for the whole grow - wait and see what happens.
Temp. is getting a little too hot (40c) in the afternoon when the sun comes through sky light and shines directly onto the tent .. so have installed exhaust fan that comes on in the afternoon and seems to be keeping the temp at a reasonable level (28-30deg c).. still hand watering.
11 Days - both plants now have roots protruding from the bottom of the baskets and are going strong - the L/H one is the smaller one, but it sprouted later than the other and now seems to be doing OK.
R/H plant has now produced its first set of five fingered leaves - will probably top it soon.
Noticed a little leaf curl on the R/H plant .. could be heat stress or just an anomaly will keep an eye on it .. humidity is around 51% and have moved the lights to 60cm above the top of this plant just in case.
We are have very high outside temperatures at the moment (heat wave conditions) for this part of Aussie and that is not helping either, but those conditions should be over early this week.
The solution is maybe too warm at 29deg C.. so have opened the tent up and hopefully this will help in lowering the temp.
Have placed a small bowl of water on the floor of the tent to increase the humidity
12 days R/H plant topped this morning, now just waiting for the L/H one to catch up a little.
End of 2nd week - both plants have picked up - the one I was worried about (R/H) is now looking as it should
Things are going well
Have changed to 600watt LED
tdriver 16 Days - have changed nutrient over for a fresh one and added some extras that just arrived in time..
R/H plant looks ready to take off and the little old L/H seems to have become a very strong plant although a little shorter.
Have topped the L/H one now and taken some leaves off the R/H plant.
At the end of the third week and everything is looking good - made and installed the frame - changed out nutrients still on veg

Will not be changing out the nutrients for this week, just topped the pots up with what was left over from the last mix.

tdriver OK.. Rookie mistake - cant change nutrients with the frame over the plants as I have to lift them up to get the pump in (new design needed after this grow), so I have gone to a larger nylon net that is movable.
Did some LST on them
tdriver I'm getting 4 - 5 days out of my nutrient solution (10lts). there is only about 30mm of solution left - plants must be loving it
Trying to decide if I should thin out some of the fan leaves to get some more light into the center of the plant ... or just let it go and see what happens.
Day 58 - decided to thin out some of the fan leaves from the center of the plant.. Took a large amount of leaves off ... although from the photos there is hardly any noticeable change. However one day on and the lower buds are getting noticeable larger.
Hi there .. Is it a good idea to thin out some of the fan leaves during the flowering process, to allow more light into the lower and center parts of the plant?
If so, does this slow down the plant growth in any way?
Thanking you in advance
Good idea : if your plant is healthy, if your colas are close from each other, if your lower branches are in the shadow, if your airflow is blocked by some leaves. Bad idea : if your plant is ill / suffering from nutrients deficiency or nutrients-burn, if you remove too much leaves at the same time. Hope everything is going well, keep up the good work and happy harvest!
My theory is if they plants are doing well, then there is no problem to fix. They look great, all you will do is add time and stress.
>surface area of leaves = >photosynthesis. Let mother nature run the show if you can.
Yes you can thin it out a bit, which naturally causes some stress and can lengthen flowering a bit depending on how much stress. If you want to play it safe, take a few a day to allow for some recovery time. She maybe wont even notice :)
If you think about it, you're removing a leaf or two to allow light to reach some lower growth which will eventually grow bigger and add leaves and a greater surface area. So I believe it can be good in such situations, especially if your lady seems to be happy.
tdriver Have changed the nutrient additives a little and now run as according to the Cyco chart
The buds in the center of the plant have thickened since I removed some of the leaves - all buds are looking good and very sticky
@biggreens420, thanks .. I've decide to thin out some leaves in the middle - I did take quite a large amount, andthe plants hardly look any different - but the buds i have exposed certainly do
@biggreens420, yep going to start today.. have made a frame and now just waiting for everything to start growing into it - I think another two weeks of veg should do it - what do you think?
@tdriver, Great. That's the goal of this community is to help other growers feel welcome and to encourage their growing. Also, many of us offer up advice when needed. Don't hesitate to ask questions if need be. Best wishes.
@Zannabis7, thanks for the encouragement - you certainly make everyone feel welcome on this site old mate.. its kinda nice hearing from like minded people

Looking good, going to watch with interest as i'm growing a Critical + 2.0 at the moment and looking forward to how it develops now in flower !! Good luck with the rest of you're grow 👍
