Starting another diary off with Fastbuds. Next in line for the fast flowering photo periods is FFT10, this is an indica that is supposed to flower in eight weeks. My previous grows (FFT1-5) were plagued with early low temperatures, and then just wasted sea of green failures. I am committed to doing better. I germinated in a peat pod in a small cup of HP Pro Mix. My veg tent is 4’ x 4’ DIY construction. I have a 300 actual watt full spectrum LED and 1/6th of the same light, another 50 watts. This is day 3, hoping for a good one.

Day 11 for the tenth fast flowering photo period plant from Fastbuds. At this point all it gets is water. I turned on my output ventilation and temps seem steady, this is good.

Day 18 for FFT10, the tenth of the FastBuds photoperiod testers. It nearly bit the dust as I waited for my veg tent to clear up, and I could make space. I finally transplanted using 10 parts HP Pro Mix: 5 parts worm castings: 1 part Fox Farms Happy Frog soil. I expect it to be fine now.

Day 25 for FFT10, the tenth Fastbuds tester. Improvement since the new container and soil. Growth has quickened. But I’ve also changed things around, my new veg. tent has a higher light level, but two 300 actual watt full spectrum LEDs. I cut off any old leaves or anything damaged.

Day 32 for FFT10. Trimmed everything including taking the fan leaves off to make space and focus on vertical growth just prior to photos. In addition just prior, I fed 24-8-16 All Purpose Miracle Grow plant food and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). I will watch for nitrogen excess and give water soon anyway. Next week I look to transplant.

Day 39 for FFT10, the tenth of the Fastbuds testers. I have allowed the soil to dry out this week and have only irrigated when needed, just water. Things are slowly going, maybe I need get proactive and improve the tent, as lower temps have kept things in check. Regardless, things look good.

Day 46 for FFT10. It was going to be all week before I was able to get soil so to compensate I top dressed with blood and bone meal, mineralized phosphate, worm castings, in a mix of HP Pro Mix. Eventually, I did make the store and transplanted into a mix of 30 parts HP Pro Mix: 5 worm castings: 1 ASB Greenworld Sheep Manure Compost: 1 ASB Greenworld Black Earth: 1 ETI Greenhouse Gold Seafood Compost: 1 Green Gaia mineralized phosphate (guano): 1 alfalfa meal compost: 1 pulverized egg shells. BudXs was calling out my laziness earlier so I did give a little effort and better sealed the top of my veg. tent. Hopefully temps are slightly up this week.

Day 53 for FFT10. Since sealing the tent I’ve seen an increase in temperature, but this has also made nutrients much more available. I think I’m on the excess side of phosphorous, so my plan is to continue to water and flush if necessary. Since my flower tent is completely mite infested, I ordered some lady bugs, where some surplus were planted in my veg. tent. Not the most energetic under 24/7 lighting, they are still roaming around in the background. In the future, I plan to be more proactive with prevention. I’ll have to hang on until my flower tent is all cleared out.

Day 60 for FFT10. Positive signs all around. The ladybugs have kept things in check, the temps have been warm, the growth has been steady. To make sure everything is getting taken out I applied Safer’s potassium based insecticide soap which also acts as a light feeding. Cloning on the horizon Things look good!

Day 65 for FFT10. Time for the flower switch. I was waiting on further preventive but it got delayed. All I can do is another treatment of Safer’s Insecticide Soap. I also soaped the HPS tent. Other changes include lights on at night now, hoping to get some improvement, but anticipating only a minimal temperature change in my basement. No more defoliation, reading, and the internal monkeys on the threads say “no more.” Last shot is the new tent with my camera flash.

Day 72 for FFT10. One week of flowering complete, seven weeks remaining. Everything looks good! I haven’t run into issues, its a nice change. I got some neem oil and did a very light mix of it with potassium insecticide soap and water, focusing on spraying the underside of leaves. Looks good, no breakouts. Immediately after the weekend last week I mixed a compost tea which steeped overnight. I took 2 cups blood and bone meal, 2 cups of alfalfa meal compost, 2 cups worm castings, one cup Myke Flower mycorrhizae, 1 tablespoon of blackstrap molasses, and mixed it all with 20 liters of water. I pulsed it with a concrete mixer/drill periodically all day and left it overnight. The next day I diluted and watered, aiming for 10:1 water to tea. A bit strong for the FFTs as it was meant for vegging plants, but thats okay as I have already applied water again. My lighting setup is a 600 Watt Vivosun HPS. Rocking things thanks to the guidance of masters Hellishjam and BudXs 🇨🇦

Day 79 for FFT10. Two weeks of flowering complete, six weeks of flowering remain. Excited by all the progress, stretching all around. Of the final six testers, five of them seem very similar so far. I have irrigated and am excited to apply for food. Before, mid week, I fed 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Don’t screw it up from here!

Day 86 for FFT10. Three weeks of flowering complete, five weeks of flowering remain. Just trucking along now. So identical with FFT11 it seems I’m almost wondering if I mixed up the photos last week lol. I fed 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz with a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag). Still spraying away making sure I keep controlling any mites that remain. Other plants have not shown total elimination and so prevent is better than react in my experience 🐒 Way more accurate reading now that I replaced my cheap thermometer with a brand new cheap thermometer. Also, massive heat wave has been melting everything and so my temps are up through my entire home.

Day 93 for FFT10, the tenth of the FastBuds photoperiod testers. Four weeks of flowering complete, four weeks to go. And a dark horse emerges, crazy density out of nowhere. The under canopy buds are some of the biggest I’ve personally had. I’m able to alternate water with feedings often, and FFT10 continues to get 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz, and I add a popsicle stick dip of blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag).

Day 100 for the tenth of the FastBuds photoperiod testers, five weeks of flowering complete, three weeks ago. And a dark horse emerges .... this plant is dense. It just keeps piling on and the buds are the most rock hard amomgst FFT6 through FFT11. To boot, this plant still has an extra week compared to many of them! Still alternating 0-50-30 Fox Farms Beastie Bloomz (with blackstrap molasses and Plant Prod MJ Spike (CalMag)) and water. I will be able to feed for another week.

Day 107 for FFT10, the tenth tester. Six weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. This is my crown jewel, definitely my favorite for how dense and stacked. I’ll probably try to squeeze another feed of 0-10-10 Alaska Morbloom in before commencing the flush. I moved plants outside so now directly under the HPS. I can tell this strain loves my harsh conditions.

Day 114 for FFT10. Seven weeks of flowering complete, one week of flowering to go. I’ve moved this one outside for chilly nights and natural sunlight. One week to finish up. The flush is well underway. The density is the real treat here. Just fade, and then chop next weekend.

Day 120 for FFT10. Eight weeks of flowering complete, this is the projected time. I am satisfied, this was my favourite growing between 6 through 11 of the FastBuds testers, but lets wait for flavour and potency. I have been flushing away and keeping the buds dry. Gonna be a cool one and I’m hoping its frosted up with trichomes for harvest tomorrow morning.

Happy Harvest Day!

This is a review for the tenth of the fast flowering photoperiod testers from Fastbuds, FFT10 - an indica. Reaching back to the early weeks, FFT10 spent time in multiple tents including my most recently made veg. tent so the lighting conditions changed. I also was still working with previous soil amendment strategies. This is the last of the testers in this batch, and the last of the first numbered run through the eleven strains (this does not mean I don’t have clones or more seeds, I’ve just grown all eleven for better or worse on GD, and some clones and seeds not on GrowDiaries). FFT10 was consistently one of the stronger of its batch, roots were always fine. I grew the plant as one main crown, no training, and to medium height. It especially came on hard in mid flower when I recognized it has the dark horse of the bunch. It bulked and swelled, and got rock hard dense. This was the best density I’ve seen in the eleven. I brought FFT10 outside for the last couple weeks in the East Coast Canadian climate and allowed it to really frost up. FFT10 had the best progress moving to outdoors where the humidity varies but it was much colder then the HPS tent. Lots of extra trichome development, and this was evident on the final product. Harvest was no issue at all and it was a pleasure to trim based on the bud size and structure. The smells, taste, and flavours came out as herbal, deep green, just mid range strong smelling. There is a nice snap to the flavour upon inhale, almost fuel like, but overall FFT10 was just general dank. Nothing specific in terms of taste or smell characteristic. I’ll be clear I really enjoyed it, its just not easily distinguishable as the buttons below. I gave some away as gift and also greedily consumed so I wish I could have given a few month cure, but oh well. The effects are indica, just nice and relaxing. Mid range potency, it still gives you the ability to focus, but feeling very good. There could be more desired here but that would be nitpicking. Solid 9/10 for FFT10, the grow experience was easy without any negatives. The strain out performed others in a variety of conditions including extreme heat from HPS. It also responded well to outdoor colder temperatures. I did not attempt to clone and this would be an unknown still. The fragrances could be more notable though they were not negative at all, and the trichome and bud density are bigtime positives.

After finishing the plant up outside I tried to time the ending with a night cycle and harvest during dark. I wet trim, budwash and then hang to dry. The bud wash is a two step process. Step one is a quick dunk in lemon juice concentrate, baking soda, and water; the second step is a rinse in just water. I hang to dry as usual.
