Planted the seed in my aerogarden on March 18, 2020 and it sprouted on March 20 2020. I've grown things in my aerogarden for a couple of years. So my plan is to let this grow for awhile then move it to a grow tent using a dwc system. The aerogarden reservoir is only 1/2 gallon. So far so good.
She's growing like crazy and has a smell to her already. If you are within a foot of her you can definitely tell what I'm growing just from the aroma lol. Had to move her to the dwc system in the grow tent in the basement. I'm supposed to use a black bucket but only had white ones on hand. I bought some black paint but got lazy and didn't paint the bucket. I had to make the grow basket because my order was delayed on Amazon. It's not pretty but it works well. Will see how it goes.
She's not looking so healthy. Leaves are droopy and some are turning brown. Time to start reading and troubleshooting online lol. Came up with a few suggestions to what might be going wrong. A fungus or maybe nutrient burn. Got some FungicIde 3 and sprayed it on her. Cut off some of the brown leaves. I also broke down and ordered the general hydroponics trio.
Switched over to the general hydro nutrients on April 16. I clean my dwc bucket every 7 days. I'm using clay pebbles for the media. I also rinse those pebbles off when I clean my bucket. She's really packing on the leaves. Even though I'm using 5.5 gallons of ph neutral water in my dwc system I only used enough nutrients for 3 gallons of water. I am sure I had nute burn. Hopefully these new nutrients will work better for me. The smell is getting stronger. I did see some white pistils near the stem. Definitely female and I'm thinking she's in the flowering stage.. That is another auto white widow in the soil growing but that's for another grow diary.
She's really packing on the leaves and responding great to the general hydro nutrients. I tried some lst but didn't know if I was doing it right or if I was even doing it at the right time so after 3 days I let the lil lady be lol. I'l just go with the flow and see how things turn out. She's definitely bushy. I am glad that I took the suggestion on ILGM and made this strain my 1st grow.
Grow is going well. I did add 2 Byingo LED Grow Light Bulb - 50W (250W Equivalent) 660nm All Deep Red. Not sure if they are going to help but I read that red light helps with flowering. 1st grow so I have nothing to compare it too. I added a few pistil pics.
Only took a couple of bud site pics this week and adjusted my nutrients for the flowering/bloom stage I'm still using 5.5 gallons of water but only enough nutrients for 4 gallons. She's looking great and smelling good.
Growth is still going well. I snipped off some bottom leaves and some other leaves that didn't look so great. I invested in a jewelers loupe to get up close and personal. Not seeing a lot of size in the buds yet but I read the size will come in the last couple of weeks. I noticed some browning on the leaf tips of the parts closest to the light so I moved the light up from 14 inches to 17 inches. I did change from a 6.5 gallon bucket to a 5 gallon but i'm only using 4 gallons of water. My next dwc grow will be in a 3.5 gallon bucket. The root system doesn't get really big and it's a waste of nutrients. My girl is drinking around 3/4 of a gallon a week now. I already have auto strawberry cheesecake and auto gelato in the aerogarden. Hopefully in 2-3 weeks I can harvest.
Not much to report. Starting to see some purple near the buds. Still not much size to the buds yet. I did realize that I have to be more diligent about checking the ph level of my nute solution because it has been running high. Other than that all is well.
