Mephisto Grab-bag

Germ on 5/10 in Rapid Rooters kept warm (~80F) soaked in tap water with a touch ~100ul/250ml of Rapid Start. All had popped by 5/13. Transplanted to sterile solo cups with Black Gold Cactus mix. Topped soil and covered stem with ground cinnamon to ward off damping off disease. Lost two seedlings last week to this and hoping it does not return. Lost 1 CDLC to a pincherbug who feasted on it/never opened up after shedding casing. Started germing a Canna Cheese to replace it. Keep lights close and running about 22/2 or 20/4. Really need a timer. Seedling light is some $30 white LED off amazon that outputs about 30W, not concerned about burning them. Fed today 5/16 4am according to Dave's experiment here: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=295935&page=9 After mixing nutes in the volumes specified in RO, the resultant PPM ~960 EC=1.9 pH ~5.9. Glad I checked. Diluted 1:1 with more RO and added a pinch of Great White ~100mg. ppm= 530, EC=1.09 pH=5.9. Much better. Feed 24ml each. Found a fungus gnat while feeding. Smashed.

DAY 10: Transplanted from solo cups to 3gal fabric pots, with Black Gold organic and 30% perlite. Very loose soil in solo, and not root bound AT ALL. Soil ran through my hands and was left holding just the rapid rooter. maybe should have waited until roots more developed. Lux readings on a 300W QB turned all the way down and lowered to ~12in should +30k lux or 570.82 umol/s/m2 PPFD. Raised until lux read ~10K or 250Umol/s/m2 Auto blues looked wilted after Pot change, watered with 36ml or so, all plants. Humidity has been low, trying to raise it with a wet towel and fan. been working okay, fluctuating between 55-70% humidity at 77-80F (heat wave) DAY 14 a couple of days after the transplant they started to perk up and grow wider. watered 2x this week ~125ml each plant. watering again tomorrow. DAY 13, 16, 18.

Lots of growth this week. Continued LST. Auto blues looking like pre-flower at day 24, showing sex. 3BOG also showing sex. Canna cheese is stretching and i think i did the best LST job on her. Its been real hot out ~95F, so tent 80F temps and low humidity ~50% have been occurring, but they dont seem to mind. added powdered coconut water to the nutrient mix around D20, tap water around D22

Really exploded this week. watering every other day and they have been drinking it up! Coconut water with Silicon on non feed days, ~300 ppm. 3/4 plants showing pistils...just waiting on Canna-cheese (five days behind the rest) increased the light to 50-70% output, 19k lux or 360par measured at plant level. ABxSB and 3BOGxSN showed sex D24. really nice stretch on ABxSB. 3BOGxSN is bushy with super tight inter-node distance on main branch. tried hard to spread her out. Heavy lst this week, especially D32... CDLC is too bushy, just showed sex D32.

N-Tox argh! Seeing some clawing after the feed with mega-crop + flora series last week. Also increased the light to 100% @ 30in D35, turned up fan to high on plants, and heatwave brought them to 82ish. lots of clawing next day...N tox, windburn, light stress, heat, or ALL?? Clawing got bad, flushed D36 with ~5L pH'd coco tap @300pm ~6.3 to try and help them recover. run offs were in correct pH range, but 1800ppm! next day reduce to 90% light at 36in, or about 33k lux or 530par. going to maybe lightly feed today D38, trying to keep around 700 PPM, low in N

lots of adjusting t he light intensity and distance to ensure the 3 older girls were getting enough but the Canna wasnt clawing. moving the light and Canna to opposite sides of the tent seemed to help, she has exploded and clawing is going down! N-tox is fixed, feeding on 6/19 had no N so maybe overshot it. added some cal-mag mid week for good measure. did some super light defoil on the bushier plants, maybe 3-5 fan leaves that were covering bud sites. CDLC is too freaking bushy, idk how to deal with it being so low and thick, hoping i dont end up with all larf. Attempted a super-cropping on 3BOG and Canna, one stem each. curious to see how those colas differ from the rest of the plant.

Gradually increase light to 100% as of today. moved out the ballast so temps should be much lower for the rest of the run, even in the dead of summer. Dropped a heatsink on the 3BOGxSN main cola, took a nice chunk out. Still bottom feeding, heavier N and ppm this week, more volume too. Some fungus gnats have appeared but only a couple. fly tape will be going up. Light defoil, mostly of large blockers or lower fan leaves that are yellowed out (N def) or nute burned from early watering. all about 9in tall except Canna @14ish.

Some defoil/removing larf/tiny colas from CC. a few per day to not stress her out. I think CC is a heavier feed than i first thought and or i messed up by skipping a feeding at preflower due to N tox fears. Several large lower fan leaves have yellowed and fallen off. N deficient! the others are doing well, some spotting and necrosis on the 3BOGxSN. not sure what to make of it, she will probably finish in the next two weeks, but ive upped my feeding. ABxSB is smelling really nice! CDLC is bushy with smalllll buds. kinda disappointed in it this run. leaves are starting to turn color a bit in classic CDLC finishing style, poor bud structure and next to no light penetration. not much I can do here, Ill include one on my next run, hopefully without stunting it early on. Still smells amazing. Dont trust my nute numbers this week
