The two plants featured in this diary were bred last year from my Barney's Farm Gorilla Zkittles and some pollen from a good friend that was toying with genetics from Big Bud, Lemon Haze, and Blueberry.
Soil is recovered from last years grow, a mix of fine mulch, compost, worm castings, peat moss, perlite, vermiculite and a few other amendments. I top dressed with alfalfa pellets and have been letting the girls take advantage of the soil before the feedings begin.
The GZX #1 plant is in a 5 gallon plastic planter, with holes drilled in the sides, and the bottom completely removed, allowing the plant to be able to tap into the natural soil, this also has encouraged the local worm tribe to colonize the root mass, and move about freely.
A few cool nights this week. We had a relatively mild winter here in Indian Territory. Tornado season is pretty much here, and with it potentially catastrophic results for ANYTHING.
Happy Gardening!
Week 5
A late freeze happened the night of the 14th, we hit temps of about 27°F, and then the weather kind of evened off. I had attemped to train both girls to the north but I accidentally topped GZX 2. Roots are building and I'm waiting for the sign that they're primed and ready to feed.
Week 7
Increased veg nutes to 3/4 strength. I was afraid to truly give good feedings in veg last year and i can certainly see where that would have laid the foundation for a more bountiful harvest.
