Not much happening during week 1.
Start adding nutrients at around week 2 or 3 depending on how charged my coco is.
[Day 0]
I used LABs and Aloe FPJ (at a ratio of 2 drops per 25ml water) to soak seed for 12 hours then planted 1cm deep and lightly spraying the coco with pHd water.
The seed popped and broke out of the coco 24 hours later.
[Day 2]
Say cheese!
[Day 3]
Increased humidity to 70%
Looking healthy. Ill be back in 2 days.
[Day 5]
Can see she looking for nutrients. Almost time to drop the first feed. For now ill spray with sea weed & calmag. She'll manage.
[Day 7]
Flimsy stem. Watch out, she needs stem training by tapping with your finger once a day or a light breeze.
Not much happening during week 2 either.
Started adding nutrients.
[Day 9]
Still using foliar spray for leaves.
[Day 10]
Wattered 1l with nutrients around 400ppm and pH 6
[Day 12_1]
You can see the feeding on Day 10 made a difference.
[Day 12_2]
Early look at the node structure. I can also see here that my light is a perfect height. Need to keep her short.
[Day 14]
Taking sttructure really well. Indica looking leaves, but she is nearly pure sativa. May just be a phase. We'll see.
[Day 16]
Another feeding. Not worrying about runoff just yet. Ill flush when i start seeing first signs of issues. Only giving her what she needs.
[Day 17_1]
Expanding really well. Fast growth as well
[Day 17_2]
Another look at the node development. Impressive. Check how the breeze stress fattened up her stem. She's firmer now.
On another note, lets point out the elephant in the room. Will I be topping or LST? XD
[Day 17_3]
Just flexing my grow space.
[Day 18]
Added temp/humidity sensor cause she looking discouraged.
[Day 20]
She happy again, needed to decrease humidity slightly.
[Day 22]
Overhead view. Leaves slightly droopy but that's pH issue right off the bat. Simply reducing pH to 5.6 for a week should balance it out. If not, then stick to 5.7 or 5.8 constant.
[Day 23_1]
Internodal view. Great genetics.
[Day 23_2]
Chop chop! Topped and put the topping into the cloner.
[Day 39_1]
Stem check. Check.
[Day 39_2]
Stacking fast. Wow
[Day 40-42]
Foliar sprays with mostly kelp and calmag. I still spray EM1 and 2 weekly as well as flushing with microbes.
[Clone_1_ 1-4]
This clone was topped at a reasonable height to compensate for rooting in jiffy. Creating 2 main stems and also another clone!
[Day 44]
Still building. Patience/Consistency game now.
Q & A
- Q - Why did i not defoliate?
- A - Your plants leaves are solar panels, they are also miniature silos. My advice, only defoliate when you need to. Too bushy or mould, otherwise leave the leaves alone. I usually find myself trying to bend a leaf beneath another leaf before i break it. Less stress, happier plant.
[Day 49]
Featuring guest herb Chamomile.
[Day 51_1]
When you have to decide what will be best for her. Sometimes you dont wanna top, but its necessary, and your plants will love you long term.
[Day 51_2]
Family photo
[Day 58_1]
Defoliate? No!!! Not yet. Unless necessary you don't. You can, and probably will have to, but ultimately it isn't necessary, even though you see me doing it in a few of my weeks..... Honestly. Make sure your cola sites are getting light, bend leaves if you have to, and if all that fails, then cut it off. OR cut off 3 fingers from the leaf, leaving it attached but missing a few fingers on the side where you want more light to penetrate.
[Plant_scrog_1-4]
I needed to renovate the tent since i eventually came to a realization that this plant would need as much space as i could possibly give it and to be honest with you guys, i initially had never planned on growing this big of a plant....... isn't too big yet, but if you take a look at the structure i've moulded the plant into, you'll know either by logic or by experience that she's probably going to tripple in size during the switch and she still has a few weeks left before the official 12/12.
[Day 64]
Not sure what to expect right now. i'm trying to feed as well as i can well trying to learn her appetite.
[Day 65]
Currently her leaves are not looking as happy as they should be so thats an immediate red flag for me. I have protocols in place for these situations😂
Ill teach you MY way:
How do i diagnose a plant?
- The issue is the source and the source is the issue. Sad leaves is usually pH related. It could also be light, or heat? or even bad water....
This is why i follow a simple solution template:
- fix the water
- fix the nutrients
- raise/lower lights
-check humidity/temp in tent
You'd be surprised how much temps affect the intake of nutrients through the roots. ANYTHING can be an issue so make sure you're 120% sure of the results you put into this world.
[Clone_1]
Simple structure to follow when training. Very effective.
Looking happy this week. Nothing in specific happening. Checked my runoff though, ph was 7 and tds was 2000.
Ill start dosing 5.5 pH again and lower nutes until its in balance again. this issue usually means the plant is drinking more water than nutrients, then tds builds up as the water lessens...
Goodby veg, hello pre-flower. This is the last week ill be feeding a lot of grow nutrients. Hopefully boost some extra growth out before the transition is complete.
