Just popped up and doing great! Been spraying it with water twice a day to promote better growth. Since it’s outside, I’ve been a little worried about night temps but so far so good
Awesome growth since introducing more water. The outside seems to be drying out the 3 gallon super fast so it’s a watering pretty much every couple days now.
This week was spent trying to compensate for the elevated temps outside. The pot kept drying out super quick so I had to resort to feeding almost every day with an alternating schedule of nutrients as to not over so it
This week went really well! The outdoors temps and weather has been working in my advantage big time! Rain has been perfect, just enough to not need additional water and not too much to over water them. I did notice a few spiders on the fans though. I noticed a couple of the fan leaf tips were curled in touching the underside of the leaf. After closer inspection I noticed that spiders curved the leave and planted babies. I should have taken a pick but was too over eager to remove them. It was common outside spiders thankful and no spider mites. I’ll be keeping and eye on it and might pull out the Spinosad if I see it again.
Oops! Forget to hit save on last weeks check-in so here we go!
Major growth in the last week upwards of about 5-6 inches! Due to being outside, I’ve had to battle spiders (not spider-mites) trying to nest within the leaves. I’ve found that each day wiping from the bottom up with a damp cloth will resolve this issue. Humidity has been within range although temps are starting to rise. Watering has been almost every other day due to the excessive heat drying out the soil.
This week was a real struggle with temperatures! Days in average have been about 85 with drastic drops down to the upper 50’s to low 60’s at night.
Spiders are still trying to move in and nest on this plant but the treatment of rubbing down the leaves from bottom up have helped tremendously!
This week I focused on training the branches out to provide optimum coverage and really let the outdoor light penetrate the buds.
I’ve noticed a couple spots within a few of the larger fans that are pointing towards potassium deficiency, that’s also due in part to not hitting them with my veg+bloom shine addition. I will be correcting that today or tomorrow and should see vast improvement in next weeks check in
I’ll start with this weeks struggles and that’s rain and heat! Daily temps have been fluctuating between 80-90 for the better part of a week. In addition to this, the last couple days have been raining giving this one more water on the buds than I care for.
I should have covered this with a bag prior to the storm, but I’ll be more attentive next time for sure. I want to reduce the chances of mold at all costs especially with humidity on the rise this week.
Any bug issues have seem to have gone away for the most part. Since defoliating the larger fans to open up even more light penetration, the spiders don’t seem that interested in the buds and for the most part have disappeared.
Watering has been pretty constant at about every other day just because of the excessive heat, but I am keeping up with it the best I can.
Overall, so far so good! The buds themselves are forming great and showing me signs they will end up pretty dense which is a great trait!
Looking forward to next weeks checkin and the progress of this outdoor grow
What a beautiful plant. My dream is to have an outdoor plant happy like this one to illuminate my days.
This is the best way to achieve cannabis self-sufficiency.
One day will get there too!
