I grew up smoking this incredible strain whilst living in Africa. We used to buy from the locals as "Malawi Cob". It was cured in corn sheaves and bound with the fibrous strands rolled from the mother plants stem. It resembled an ancient Egyptian artefact and at that age (14) holding a full unopened one in your hand made you feel like a God. For me, this is one of the most glorious smokes if had. I am extremely excited to have found these feminised seeds from Lineage Genetics. 22/05 Day1 After germinating overnight in a zip-lock folded in a towel and Duct taped to the side of the fridge for warmth I potted them into BioBizz Light mix and placed them into a cardboard box for darkness and warmth overnight. 23/05 Day2 Temp 26c Humidity 60% Placed the pots into the tent under with the others until they pop the surface ... 24/05 Day3 Temp 27c Humidity 65% The African Queens are awakening. 25/05 Day4 🍼 Temp 26c Humidity 50% They're a bit slower than most but seem to have thicker stems already 💪🏼 14:00 1st time feeding with 2 drops (1 drop = 0.05ml) of BioBizz Root Juice & 2 drops of MULTI-MITE Liquid Seaweed in 4ml of distilled water 26/05 Day5 Temp 27c Humidity 70% Height 2.7cm They survived their first feed. Although unorthodox I decided to try it anyway as I think the girls in my Sour Diesel diary may be slightly slow a) due to only feeding on the 2nd week. b) not re-potting sooner into BioBizz AllMix. Still, with caution, I think they're much tougher than made out to be a lot of the time. They are weeds after all and having seen them growing feral in their natural habitats, they adapt remarkably well to the dodgiest of situations. Love a strong woman 👍🏼💃🏼💪🏼 27/05 Day6 🍼 Temp 25c Humidity 70% Height 3.5cm 2nd feed same ratio but upped the volume of solution to 15ml per plant. 28/05 Day7 Temp 25c Humidity 69% Height 4cm These babies are colouring up nicely and although still small, they're looking distinctly sturdy.

05/06 Day 15 Temp 22c Humidity 62% Height 6.5cm Not a lot to report. They look strong! 06/06 Day 16 🍼 Temp 25c Humidity 65% Height 6.5cm Fed the little monsters 200ml of solution each. Tomorrow they move to the woods 07/06 Day 17 Temp 25c Humidity 62% Height 7cm Hideous weather neither I nor these girls are venturing outdoors today. 08/06 Day 18 🛩️ 👸🏾👸🏾🍼 Temp 21c Humidity 50% Height 7.5cm Today my African Queens moved to their summer palace on the river. Perfect weather to do the switch. High humidity, zero wind and intermittent sunshine. Interestingly as I only discovered today they will be sharing their grounds with a family of Otters! I'm sure they're more interested in the abundance of fish and swan eggs in the neighbourhood but just in case I marked the periphery of the garden with peppermint oil for the otters as well as around the tops of the root pouches for the bugs. Fed 1.5L of solution each + BioBizz Root Juice for the move

12/06 Day 22 Height 15cm I saw my Queens for the first time in 4 days since moving them outdoors. WOW, they have tripled in size and the weather's been shite! I'm super impressed with their progress. Also added some Ecofective Organic Slug Defence to the base of each stem just as a precaution and another dose of Peppermint Oil around the top rims of their root pouches. Need to return tomorrow and feed them as I wasn't sure if they'de be ready (dry enough) today. 14/07 Day 24🍼 Height 22cm Fed the lady’s 1.5L solution each. Definitely going to increase this to 2L. There’s been a lot of stretching since I last saw them 2days ago. I’m not liking this they look ropey. Had to attach the main stems to bamboo supports. Although Sativas this is a bit much and there are still not enough nodes to top them and initiate mainlining. Noticed some little bug has been dining out on a few of the fan leaves. I’ll put a stop to this with some Organic Ecofective spray on my next visit. 16/07 Day 26🍼 Height 32cm These two Sativa Queens are shooting up, the one in particular. 8cm in 2days. Fed each 2L of solution Their nodes are spread far apart and the main stem is super slender so I've attached them to bamboo supports. Mr Bug met his match today. Sprayed with Ecofective Bug Spray (Organic)⚰️ 18/07 Day 28 Height 40cm Popped down to check on these two and re-spray for bugs after the heavy rains this morning. They're taking off! 🚀👍🏼 I wasn't happy about their leaves touching the mesh in places. Dead easy for the wild critters to hop aboard from the nice ladder I had given them so I removed the wire enclosure. No rabbits around just otters nearby. 22/06 Day 32 🍼 Height 47cm Today the weather was perfect. full sun all-day. Forcast as such for the rest of the week so I fed them 2L of Solution each and thoroughly re-sprayed with Ecoffective ⚰️ These Bush Queens are a sight to behold, they grow extremely proud.

29/06 Day40 Height 83cm Noticed that on one of the plants that approx 70% of the leaves look exaggeratedly rough with a dusting of orangey brownish markings. This came after the bug episode I remedied with Eccofective Bug Spray (Organic) Fed each 2L of Solution Inoculated the rims of their pouches with Peppermint Oil. The creepy-crawlies hate it😈 07/06 Day 47 The one plant looks decidedly miserable. Weird rough leaves with slight discolouration and droopy. They're not being over or under watered. They both receive the exact same nutrient ratio and mix. It's been suggested to me by Bloombuster that it's heat-related. This makes sense as it was over 30c when I moved them outdoors. They're also showing Indica genetics more than the Sativas they're meant to be. I'll make mention of this to Lineage Genetics.

Hi Guys I’ve notice that some of my leaves are extremely rough/overly textured with slight discolouration, almost looks highlighted or over exposed in colour with some light yellow/ brownish visible. The plant looks alert just a bit odd. It’s only the 1 plant of 2

10/06 Day 50 🍼🍼 I haven’t seen these girls in a few days coz it’s been raining so much there wasn’t any real point in the commute. The one with the odd leaves and sickly appearance looks perkier. I'm guessing the extra feeding and cooler wetter weather conditions are favourable They still looking droopy but I now believe it to be a genetic issue as the leaves are far from Sativa like esp since I've seen this exact strain growing wild. Fed each 2L of solution. Didn't have much time as it was almost dark when I arrived on site. Strange activity in the dark nearby, in the middle of nowhere with two guys and a torch! Poachers I hope? The wildlife is abundant.

Best wishes, friend. Outdoor grows are a roll of the dice. Thanks for the great pictures documenting your condition, and showing us wide leaflets inconsistent with Malawi genetics. I’m not doubting it’s 50/50 sat/indi, as is most everything else out there now despite breeder claims. And who knows? Maybe the blend is the best of both worlds! Enjoy your harvest

@growdoctordc, Hi there thanks for taking a look at the leaf situation. It's very true what you mentioned about the genetic inconsistency. There definitely seems to be a hint of Indica lurking however, the general stem/node structure is very much Sativa. I truly hope this Indica genetic is not apparent in the smoke as I really do not like the effects of it at all. Malawi being one of my all-time favourite smokes since I was probably too young to be partaking 😈

@GreenGuerilla, Lake Baikal is very beautiful, but it is very difficult to get there! By the way, there is a lot of wild hemp growing there, my Amur giant, which grows in a partisan way in the Central part of Russia, and goes from there. Also, Siberian haze was born there and there is a variety of wild Manzhur marijuana that contains more than 20% THC. The nature of Eastern Siberia is truly amazing

@RussianGrower, Greetings from the UK! I admire your grows. I wish to visit your country someday esp around Lake Baikal.
