Kushty was the first girl to start alerting me to issues with the outdoor grow. As was mentioned in last weeks entry, on the evening of transplant, they got hit with pretty heavy rains and I believe that kind of started a downfall. As you can see on day 4, we start to see some issues. I struggled with this thinking it was due to pH fluctuations. Plants had been watered at around 6.4 pH while inside and once outdoors, started getting hit right away with rain that is usually around 5.5-5.7. This also made me realize that I had not put any lime in the original soil and so there was absolutely no buffer. I immediately applied about a cup of lime to the top soil and raked in. I know this takes a while to seep in but I did it and hoped I caught things early enough. I began heavily documenting the issues so that I could seek out some advice in one of my grow groups which is why you see almost daily pictures. I even decided to retop her on 6/1/20 because the leaves felt damaged enough. I thought I would be giving her better chances with a fresh start on top. I think this decision only continued to play into her downfall. It was too soon after the pH issues and transplant to try and top again.
For the record, this diary is be updated from many week into the future. I continued to document the downfall and will slowly beginning to update the weeks but, I stopped journaling it because I truly did not think anything would come from the plants. I mean the downfall gets REALLY bad over the coming weeks while I search for any and every answer. We are now a month off into the future and they are just now starting to make a comeback which is why I decided to revisit. I think many will enjoy seeing not only the downfall but the absolute comeback.
