Water is a good idea at this point. She is a pretty close to finishing so the flush will do her good. She should pack a bit more in as you flush. At this point I wouldn't worry that much about the leaf fade. Not a lot you can do about it anyway. You could trim away some of the big fan leaves.
I loved curb your enthusiasm, pretty pretty, pretttttttyyy good ๐
your plant really is looking good though, great work. when are you going to top/start LST?
ps my bd are thirsty girls too, pots usually starting to dry knuckle deep at 48 hours, I am surprised when i pick the pot up and its light again already so soon after watering, since growing in the past in soil with other strains ive done aren't as fast of eaters! Thirsty ladies they are *yoda voice* but probably also has to do with my change in medium as I hear coco/perlite drains a little quicker then most soils.
@Jack_Greenstalk, Great information and thanks so much for sharing your insight/smoke report. I will certainly be growing this strain next time around.
@Zannabis7, as a all day user I vary my strains for given situation. I have found blue dreams one of the most consistent meds I have ever used. It's got a longer lasting effect then all my other strains which is nice for someone like me who does gigs a few hours at a time for work, I stay medicated entire time, vs most other strains don't stay with me as long as BD. That said i feel its a very subtle, nuanced high which is very mellow and brings me sharp focus. I'm a little on the manic side so being high energy it dials me back about 5-10% I need and lets me get stuff done much more effectively. Although I'm just doin my first grow of this strain, I have medicated with this for 4+ years daily from a good stable of socals finest growers, and although I see a lot of people say #fuckbluedream or call it mids across the board, I feel this is a perfect strain for a newbie toker to a all day veteran user. can't recommend it more highly ๐๐
@Jack_Greenstalk, Sorry if I gave you the impression that I didn't believe that trichome color determines type of high. I was playin' the fool. I purposely harvested my last grow about a week early because I had a feeling the bagseed I had grown was going to give me heavy couch lock. I have experienced some of the same symptoms you mentioned. I always attributed it to some of the high octane sativas out there. Maybe not!
@Quexos, this trichome stuff is pretty well confirmed in my experience. I've been medicating since 2005 and I have known growers and grown myself since 2008 with stable cultivars. I recently picked up a trichome stick (100ร zoom made for looking at live plants or buds to tell trich color to determine when harvested). I can tell you, clear or glassy trichomes (early harvest - used to call this the "heady danks") will enduce headier psychoactive effects, regardless strain. I got some Master OG which is a strain ive had from some grower for years. he usually runs it to all milky trichs (id say the true medical effects of the strain based on its pheno and parent genetics). and at milky even no amber the master OG is pretty sedative. but clear, i was up til 2 am mind racing. same strain, grower feed etc, just changed harvest timing!
amber trichs will def make even heady sativas have a little body punch, and more sedative effects. even when some strains pistils get orange (i notice blue dream gets more orange earlier then most other strains and gets a nice coating of colored pistils before trichs fill into cloudy, milky, plastic looking. I flush right when its almost all milky, by time flush is done all glassy have gone to milky and a touch of amber just at tips by end of flush.
@DeathEvil, It won't hurt your buds if you wait longer. The more amber the trichomes, the more sedative the high. Earlier, and you get more energetic highs. Or so they say...
Also, if you have excess nutes, the longer flushing period will help rid your buds of those off flavors.
2 nice harvests! Way to go! That should keep you busy for a little while.
BTW nice guitars. My son plays. I'm trying to raise him right so he listens to a lot of Jimi and BB.
She looks like she has several weeks to go before harvesting. I didn't see if you were adding any flowering nutes. I was getting some brown tips because I think I used one of the bloom nutes too long. It had a lot of Nitrogen. There are some other things going on though. Part of it is the plant absorbing nutrients from the leaves, but you might have something going on.
@Quexos,
I'm not even thinking about harvest yet (at least 5 more weeks). I did give her bloom nutes from early on along with veg nutes. I see tips burned but not sure if its from too many nutes, o the plant already eating the foliage to get the nutes she needs.
yes:) I have never trimmed as much fan leaves as this time, so it will be a direct comparison to my last grow (green crack) in which I did very little of trimming above the scrog net
This is going to be crazy group of plants! You are going to need to make a second support for those long bud stalks. They are going to start filling in, and those branches don't look like they will support those serious buds.
@Quexos,
Yeah it will be crowdy. I can move the script bet up and down to help with support, but I think she's do fine since this is a small tree already
Timber!! She looks ready to chop! How are the trichomes? I would definitely do some serious wet trimming for this grow. You want to get rid of all that faded growth before you start drying her out. She looks like a lot of harvest work. Have fun!
