So this is my last ditch attempt to salvage the plant, and a bit of a fun experiment to see if it is possible.
When I found the plant she had no leaves left on her, so I decided to see if I could nurse her back to health.
I de-rooted her and washed the roots and potted her in compost.
I took her indoors and put her on a 24/0 cycle of low light for 2 days. No growth she just withered.
I realised there was no way it could get enough energy without leaves, or breathe. So I heard about grafting, stinging nettles are part of the same family and had seen it was possible.
I cut a female nettle I found with a blade at an angle and did the same with the stem. I dipped both ends in fox farm big bloom nutrients and then rubbed honey on the ends for bacterial and fungal protection. I inserted the cannabis stem into the nettle stem as it was a smaller as it was dehydrated, it slipped right in. And I secured with tape and tightened with wire.
It will be interesting to see if this works, the stem was covered in crystals, so I assume the auto is in flowering, who knows I may even get a bud or two if thus works.☘️
Any advice for protecting the plant from getting eaten by insects? I think it is small flys I have found on the leaves. I would rather not use chemical pesticides.
Neem oil is an organic pesticide made from a plant. I use it as do many other growers. Just don't use it last 4 weeks of flower. You can plant marigolds around your crop to help deter alot of pests. And 🐞 are a great pest predators!! Happy Growing! 👊
Update: Went to the crop, and the situation is worse some leaves have now been eaten off. Ive ordered some neem oil, but read that soapy water is also a solution, so using that in the meantime😬
