Had to remove the White Widow from the diary as it had a lot of wonky growing happening. It seems to be stunted as well but no worries. It will keep growing to see what happens.
The Auto PE lady is still going strong and has started flowering. I'm gonna keep the 18/6 light cycle, and put the 250w HPS in next week for some better light penetration.
I'm currently using nutrients available at a hydro shop close to me. They have recently started stocking EHG nutrients so I will be buying that once I have finished my supply.
I will also be upgrading my grow space in the next couple months. The custom tent will be used for drying, and a 1,5m x 1,5m x 2,2m space will be converted for growing.
I've added the 250w HPS in there now and she loves it. It's still on the 18/6 light cycle due to the mini white widow in the tent, but that won't hurt the Auto flowering cycle, right?
I removed some leaves below the net, and also trimmed a bit above the net to get light to the lower buds. It's crazy how quickly the leaves grow and cast shadows everywhere.
She's still growing well even though she stayed a bit small. The colas are starting to form nicely but the lower buds dont get enough light in my opinion. Do you guys and girls think I should trim some of the bigger leaves?
Its the 4th week of flower for her now and she is really starting to put on weight. She's also giving off a fruity, tropical smell. The leaves are getting frosty and overall she just seems to be very healthy.
I've seen some other growers trim the bigger fan leaves at the top. Do you guys think its necessary for me to do that?
I've started adding the MKP bloom booster now. The biggest cola is 12cm around so far and 7cm long. Each day the colas look fatter and feel firmer. Definitely bigger than my previous grow even though the plant is smaller.
I trimmed a few of the larger leaves that were covering the lower buds. Now they are getting more direct light.
Im really enjoying the fruity smell when I open the tent. It just make me wanna cut it down and dry it, but I know it will be worth the wait.
Not much to add this week. I let her completely dry the pot earlier in the week. She is still going strong and getting a little firmer each day. She's a very easy plant to look after.
Looks like its time to start the flush.
Final 2 weeks before harvesting. Flushing her with calmag and pH 6 water till I harvest. She is looking great and smells even better.
She hasn't grown in a while, but she just gets firmer.
Her trichomes are pretty much all cloudy and I suspect they will start turning amber soon. But I think I'll harvest when that happens.
Such an easy plant to grow. Even though she got damaged early on, she recovered quickly and carried on. I definitely noticed her tropical smell early after she started flowering.
Id advise vegging for a couple more weeks and fill out the screen before flipping to 12/12. Strongly, strongly recommend. Will make a huge difference in yield.
@ChilaCro, Ah, got ya. She'll work out fine in the end but I would suggest not plucking too many more fan leafs for a while. They are the solar panels for the plant and unless they're directly blocking a bud site and the plant has adequate air flow then find a place for em. Good luck!
@MaximusVerde, thanks for popping in. She's an auto so that wont help. The main stem got damaged early on, so it prevented her from growing as big as I would have liked. But that's how we learn, right? I also removed a few of the big leaves under the net just before taking the photo, that's why it's looking so empty. I will take some more photos, then you can see how it has already grown bushy again after just a couple days. 😁
@ChilaCro,thats true man i also really enjoying to be a part of that community and the main reason about everybody just wants everybody else to have a succesful harvest we all love this plant:)) we all together being a part of every single strain life cycle and its very constructive and funny.
@@frags, thanks for the kind words. From everything I've seen on the net, scrog seems to be the way to go for small indoor grows. I still have so much to learn but the green community is so helpful. Everybody just wants everybody else to have a successful harvest.
Just curious why you're flipping an auto to 12/12. They're not light dependent like photos and mature much faster in 18/6 or 20/4 throughout their life cycle.
Nice looking grow so far ... you might think about trimming some of the upper fan leaves for better light and air penetration for some of the lower buds.
@bosgrower, thanks for the advice. There was a photo White Widow in the tent as well, so I only flipped when the WW was ready. I tried to keep it on 18/6 as long as I could, but the WW was getting too big.
@PigBearMan, thanks a lot. I started with DWC last year and had a few failed attempts due to humidity and heat issues. Moved over to coco, and have 1 successful harvest so far. Only came across this site recently.
