Another week, another challenge! This week I'll completely fade out from the vega nutes and focus on bud boosters. She had a great development since last week, and it seems that it will give me some buds to enjoy.

@Zannabis7 hi bro Can you take a look at the last pics (day 28), and say to me if she's pre-flowering? Cheers!
GreenZealand
GreenZealandcommented7 years ago
@Zannabis7, thanks for the suggestion bro!! Probably I'll wait a few more days to decide it, but I think that I'll do it for the benefit of self-learning! (: Cheers, mate

@GreenZealand, Hey mate, Yes, but I would start by only taking those bottom most leaves with three leaflets and slowly remove more as necessary.
GreenZealand
GreenZealandcommented7 years ago
@Zannabis7, hey mate! I followed that plan, and it seems like they are off to a great flowering phase. (: About the burned leaves, do you think that it's a good idea to remove them? So then the plant can focus on the buds

@zannabis7 mate, do you know if this colour inside the leaves is a signal of some need from the plant?
GreenZealand

@Zannabis7, thanks for the source of info! I'm also reading other interesting articles from them, regarding autoflowering Cheers!

@GreenZealand, Yes, should work as that is low nutrient - just use it at half strength to start with.

@Zannabis7 Here bro! This is from today. What do you think?
Zannabis7
Zannabis7commented7 years ago
@GreenZealand, That's great news and I'm glad you figured out what was going on both with the light and the water. It's always nice when you troubleshoot something and get the grow dialed in. Great job buddy. Continued best wishes on the grow!

@Zannabis7, hey bro! I think we're on the right track here. It looks like it was really a light-burn problem... After reading some stuff here, I found something really interesting, that fits perfectly for my situation. http://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-light-burn Two parts of the article represent exactly what happened here. 1) "Light burn is often mistaken for a Nitrogen deficiency ... A nitrogen deficiency starts from the bottom of the plant and moves up, while light burn often is worse at the top of the plant" The upper leaves were the ones that showed the yellowing... and the lowest ones are looking good with a regular green. And 3 days after doubling the distance from LED to the top of the plants, the new leaves from the top showed to be also with a regular green, like "healthy" 2) "If the lights are only slightly too close, maybe just an inch or a few cm, the yellowing from light burn may happen slowly over the course of days (or even weeks!) because leaves are dying early instead of immediately. Because of that, the light burn may first appear on somewhat older leaves, which can be confusing and make it hard to diagnose." As said on that part, the older leaves are the ones that showed to be really affected by the light burn... Well, along with that I think that I was really over watering... so besides lifting the LED Panel, I also stopped the "daily watering" routine... now I'll back with watering when the plants show they're in need. Do you think that when I'm back with watering (probably tomorrow, or a max day after), I'm good to start feeding them with 1/2 of suggested for Canna Terra Vega + Seaweed? As you said, I'm putting all my heart and the best energy on those babies! It should work at all! Cheers mate!!

Zannabis7commented7 years ago
@GreenZealand, You are doing great! No, you are not going to lose the plant, we just need to dial things in before the flower!. Hang in there mate! Your heart in it, that's what counts! Rock on mate!

Seedlings are looking great. Yes, great idea to feed them some form of microbial product or a light seaweed product. Just feed them light nutrients (1/4 strength at week three) and then slowly increase the nutes with maturity. Best wishes...

@GreenZealand, I personally recommend Recharge. There a lot of growers on here that use this as their go to microbial product. But there are others like SLF 100, Mammoth P, etc. Cheers!

Looks great, I'll follow your progress. I'm growing two msnl auto cheese also. I have one that is flowering and one that's taking it's good time. Is it normal for autos to flower at different times even with being sprouted at about the same time. I want to grow as big as buds as possible.
GreenZealand
GreenZealandcommented7 years ago
@Autosarefun, hi bro! I made a lot of mistakes on the beginning and she still working very well. Looks like MSNL have strong seeds.
Endriu
Endriucommentedweek 47 years ago
Hey mate! I wouldn't take off the leaves, she's fine, and the leaves, even if spotted, are a consistent part of her structure and nutrients tanks. I personally think that it's useless and stressfull, at this stage of growth. Keep rockin! ๐Ÿค˜

@Endriu, thanks mate!! Still in doubt... probably will leave as it is

@Esseebee, thanks for following mate! Looks that MNSL have some strong seeds, considering that I had made some mistakes, and even though she recovered fast!

Hi mate! ๐Ÿค˜ Hope everything's fine with this lady! Next time, if you want to lower your water's ph, try to add some drop of apple's vinegard or lemon juice, they lower the pH, but tend to fluctuate a bit, even if the soil has the "tampon effect". Now, if you don't want to get mad, buy a PH down, it's more convenient in the long time. And I think that the stains on the leaves were caused by some product you use to spray'em, maybe? Rock on! ๐Ÿค˜
GreenZealand
GreenZealandcommented7 years ago
@Endriu, hi bro! I'll work with a PH down on the next days. Hope it helps to keep the soil at the right point! And yes, I remember to have sprayed the plants ate the beginning, could be related. Thanks for the advice regarding PH Cheers!

See your having some troubles, a plant that young having a deficency from anything would be hard.. it's a baby it needs hardly anything My thought/observation 1) the container seems large for the small plant 2) you seem to be watering every couple days? You need dry periods too and a good balance, this is hard when you have a very large pot for a very small plant 3) LEDs are super intense they should be 4+ feet away for a seedling 4) checkout and follow The Grow Boss on you tube for tips and guidelines To me it looks overwatered and too much light, rotting the root hairs will cause the plant to not take in nutrients, then you think you have a deficiency (you do then, just not from not enough nutes, it's from rotted roots) Hope some or any of this helps
GreenZealand
GreenZealandcommented7 years ago
@Fun_Growin, hi mate! Thank you so much for your considerations. I've taken some of them to be addressed: 1) interrupt watering until the plant shows some signals that it is in need (last time watering was 2 days ago, with 250ml of distilled water) 2) Lifted up the LED panel, from 50cm of distance to 100cm I'll keep the light cycle in 20h on/ 4h off because from my recent research this is not quite a problem to auto-flowering plants, and also, so then I can change and check on thing per time, to be more accurate on my log. Keep checking the grow, and hopefully, you will see your advice making some positive changes here! Cheers mate

RumRunner
RumRunnercommentedweek 17 years ago
Looks good, nice set-up. Do you mean no nutrients for the entire grow? Or just at seedling stage?
GreenZealand
GreenZealandcommented7 years ago
@RumRunner, hi mate! I mean during this time of seedling before go to a regular pot. Some friends told me that they have weak roots and that this is one of the most critical aspects of having good yields or not. Is it true? Do you think that it worth feeding them with a something to root stimulation? I've bought this: https://www.bunnings.co.nz/seasol-1-2l-seaweed-health-tonic-concentrate_p02962108 But even during vegetation/flowering, I didn't find something clear for autoflowers... one thing that still not clear to me is the fact that they have a short lifecycle, and I'm afraid to burn them overfeeding... Listened a few times that is better to be low on nutrients, and try to fix it rather than overfeeding and not having a way to fix it. Is it true? Cheers bro!!
