Dropped the rapid rooter in the garden in a sea of organic soil. Along came my nemesis, the squirrel (named DickHead, or DH for short), and decided to pull it out. I found it dry on top of soil.... Hopefully roots are ok & this will keep DH away from it. DH hits my lettuce, chives, tomatoes, celery, bok choy on my deck all the time..... But that was low.
Still need to protect her from DH. She looks like her roots are spreading out as her leaves have grown too. Lots of rain, hope she gets some sunshine over the weekend.
Fucking DH is driving me nuts. Second hole in as many days.... as soon as the cage is off, I am sure that cock sucker will dig her up. I wish I could shoot the fucking thing.... and It might actually be a chipmunk, I am not sure. Mouse traps (classic) all over my deck and the fucker sets them off, then digs up my planters...... seriously, how can killing a fucking pest be animal cruelty?
She popped out of the cage..... DH has dug a couple of times around the cage. I hope her roots can withstand DH digging beside her.
I might start a blue cheese auto beside her. Hope she gains some bulk in the next week.
Grown a bit taller, no side growth.... I suspect the rapid rooter plug got hard when DH dug it up and it affected the development of the side roots, which affect side branches.....
I hope this is the break out week for her.... she will need to start growing some branches.
Day 32, still no bulking up. Got some small flowers on top and at leaf sites.
The picture showing the rapid rooter help understand why I have no branches. I believe it messed up the rooting, if it had side roots, they would hold the plug steady, like all the others I have used. DH screwed us over by digging her up and exposing it to the air.
