I had a beautiful 7cm stretch the first 5 days of flowering and since then almost no stretch at all... Any advice please? We did get a cold front this week dropping day temps by 3 degrees(around 23°C)... Temp at lights on in morning was around 20°C after lights off all night...
Hi
I typically see a stretch from my plants over the first 1-3 weeks of flowering, and and a few other g.d.p diaries show a slow progression in stretching. So I wouldn't worry about it, watch it over the next couple weeks and see what happens. The plants look incredibly healthy and a 3 degree difference in temps shouldnt cause any big problems. Some plants won't even double in height, but they'll fill out width wise with dense buds.👍
Should I defoliate more at this point in flowering or wait until a later stage when buds start to form?
Also airflow is good on undergrowth and sides but is my room overcrowded?
Hi there!
You can remove little bit more of those lower leaves but don't take too much 'cos there wont be that much leaf growth anymore.
Some people likes to defoliate at the day 21 of flowering so maybe you can let them grow for a week more and then defoliate little bit more?
Is it fine to super crop my plants now during week 2 and 3 of flowering to thicken up stems in order to support bigger bud growth and to open up the center of the plant for better light penetration?
Need help identifying if I've got a problem with flowering... I'm 18 days into flower since I flipped to 12/12 but it seems like my pistils aren't developing as I'd expected and see on other grows... On some pistils/sugar leaves the tips are turning black...
Every strain will be different. I'm assuming the coloring is genetic. Other than that they look mad healthy. I'd say just give her some time she may just be a late bloomer. Hopefully this helps. ✌️
Low number of pistils at end of flower week 4. I've got two chees plants in the same room with a lot more pistils than the GDP, plants are healthy but the GDP seems to be a bit slow! What might the problem be? Seems like they won't grow into fat, dense buds with so few calyxes
Looks okay to me. In general, bigger size is better thand more numerous flower.
If you want more flowers, you should feed addtive with cytokinin like brown sea weed extract. I do that any way.
Supplement your regular regime with molasses helps ith the flower size. Should be a safe addtion without screwing up pH and the reast of the stuff. 2 ml/liter once a week until the final week. This should help get the C/N ratio up.
GDP strain is notorious for havign hermaphrodite flower. So, you have to inspect it at least twice a week.
Good luck
Thank you @Abuelito, really appreciate the commentary,, I'll definitely check out your grow and follow your progress! 😁 Your plants look amazing so far... 💪🏻
@Calyxo, I wouldn't flush until I start setting nearly all cloudy and a few Ambers. Then you have 7-14 days for them to turn abit more amber and fully Mature, they will fatten up at this stage quite a bit! Or it could be that your light is too far away or just not powerful enough. Removing a few fan leaves will help get light further down.
@Fruitgrower, should I do another light feeding before I flush? Trichomes I'd say are about 50% cloudy and some fan leaves are starting to yellow and wilt... How will defoliation help at this point if you don't mind me asking? Also I'm past 9 weeks into flower,, shouldn't they have bulked up by now judging by the other signs already pointing toward the end of flowering
I just saw your defoliation question that had since been resolved. I just did heavy defoliation and took before/after pix. My plants will finish in 4-6 weeks (different strains). Feel free to follow these next few weeks for the outcome/results. Your grow looks great. Keep on growing!
