2 Moby Dick Autos from Canuk Seeds
1 Auto PK from Oasis Genetics
After 30 hours in ziplock bags for germinating, only the Purple Kush popped. Planted all 3 seeds in 5G fabric pots, hoping that the Moby Dicks will sprout.
Sure enough within 4 days of being planted, all 3 sprouted and by weeks end were looking great.
Only fed tap water Ph between 6 - 6.1
Was a relatively slow week. Did not feed any nutrients until midway through the week. No better for next time to give nutrients right from the beginning. Did not use Jiffy Pellets this time and Cocoa has no nutrients bended into the medium.
Was feeding 1ml per 500ml Ph between 6 - 6.1 feeding roughly 100ml each once per day (Started this mid week)
Great week for growth!
Purple Kush growing the fastest of the 3 and more sativa dominant. Was getting a nitrogen deficiencies on the Purple Kush as well.
Feeding was every other day each got fed 1ml per 500ml Ph between 6 - 6.1
Pretty good week for growth. The Moby Dick's were showing more Indica traits while the Purple Kush was showing Sativa.
Began the first LST at the end of the week and defoliated to allow more airflow through the canopy, even though most say not to defoliate autos?
Purple Kush was growing surprisingly well and was having nitrogen deficiency up to this point, But was starting to see green foliage rather than yellowish green.
Love this week! Lots of growth! Kept up with LST throughout the week and the Moby's were growing very bushy which forced me to defoliate more than I would have liked to, but they needed airflow and they didn't stress to much.
Feeding was steady every 2nd day, and slowly increased water and nutrient amount. By weeks end was at full strength 8ml / 1G Ph between 6 - 6.1
Moby Dick #2 was getting fed less than the others because it was growing slower which in the end took less to feed but was at full strength at the end of the week.
*Got busy during the week and forgot to raise the lights up which the Purple Kush did not like. Spider Farmer lights sure produce a lot of unexpected heat.
Lots of veg growth this week as they prepare to start flowering. Did some more defoliating and the Purple did not like it too much.
The Moby Dick's were getting to bushy I had to remove some leaves to allow more airflow through the canopy. This was a constant upkeep with the Moby's.
Feeding was every other day but a few days at the end of the week they were thirsty and had to feed them every day.
8ml per 4000ml ph between 6 - 6.1
WoW! What a week!
The Purple Kush is starting to really show her colours and berry aroma.
The Moby's were growing extremely wide and bushy to the point I was removing fan leaves every day. As for bud production, definitely slower in that aspect over the Purple which was really starting to bulk up.
Feeding is now at the point of lifting the pots but with cocoa if the medium is dry up to your knuckles that is usually a good sign to water. I do this technique always, but depending on the time of the day (light schedule) will determine when I actually feed.
They were thirsty girls, sometimes I feed AM to AM.
Feeding amounts were constant all week. For the most part my solution temp was 19 C but once or twice it got to 21 C Ph 6 - 6.1
Moby 1 - 9ml 4500ml
Moby 2 - 9ml 4500ml
Purple - 8ml 4000ml
I LOVE GROWING!!
Purple Kush is growing super fast! It will be finished way before the Moby Dick's.
I was noticing some swollen Calyx on the Purple Kush and since I'm a newbie I was a little concerned thinking that she hermed on me. After talking with many growers I was told it was normal which was a HUGE relief.
I fed 5 out of 7 days this week
Ph between 6 - 6.1
Moby 1 - 9ml 4500ml
Moby 2 - 9ml 4500ml
Purple - 8ml 4000ml
*Screwed up one feed on the Purple and fed 9ml 4000ml and shortly notice nute burn.
Such a great week! One of the best weeks is seeing the colas start to develop. Makes me happy to be a grower!!
This week I was playing around a little with my temps/humidity, trying to get a better understanding of VPD. I'm sure most growers on here have or are currently battling Rh fluctuations inside their grow tent. As plants age, especially during flower, they release moisture into the air causing Rh levels to increase. Also every time you feed you are adding water (moisture) into the air which in late stages typically you feed/water 1G plus each time per plant. That is a lot of water! Depending on your setup you may not be able to keep your Rh down in the mid-high 50s. With most VPD charts there are "sweet" spot ranges to keep your temps/humidity levels at for the right VPD. So in the end I have raised my temps up to 28-30 C and my humidity is now 58-65%. After adjusting my levels, I noticed a HUGE improvement in plant production and how healthier each plant looked.
The Purple Kush was having deficiency issues and with it being only a week away from the start leeching (flushing), I kept feeding it as normal. Buds were looking really nice compared to the previous Purple Kush.
The Moby Dick's were also starting to show signs of deficiencies. My guess is to be Potassium (P) or Phosphorous (K) deficiency but It didn't play around with the nutrients. At the end of this week, according to the Remo feeding charts, week 5 is an increase in nutrients so I just let them go.
My feedings are pretty much consistent each week which is about 5 feeds each plant. I do the lift technique and when I can lift the pot with little to no effort I feed.
What a great week! The smells coming out of the tent are amazing! Very sweet haze like which is what I'd expect from a Moby Dick (White Widow Haze). The Purple Kush smells like pure Berry Candy and looks beautiful especially with the fall colour leaves starting to show.
Purple Kush started leaching (flushing) this week as she was showing some amber trichomes but very little milky. I do what Remo recommends which is half nature's candy half straight water. So since I started the leach this week, I started with 4500ml of water with 10ml of Nature's Candy. I will use this amount every time she is thirsty and next week will be straight water until she is fnished. Always Phing between 6 - 6.1
Moby's are getting full nute feeds and I up the nute's according to Remo's feeding chart at week 5 of flower. 14ml per 5000ml of water Ph between 6 - 6.1. I am only using 11ml of MagNifiCal which is what Remo recommends at flower week 5.
Last week on the Purple Kush before she's being harvested! 😀 Flushing with straight water ph between 6 - 6.1
I'm really happy at how purple the buds are and the aroma is super berry, fruity like. Happier with the way this one turned out over the last one.
The Moby Dick's are stacking very nicely! I'm really excited for these two and thinking they will be done 3 more weeks?
I'm a huge haze fan and the aroma is just that... very sweet, piney, tropical.... soooo good!
They are on the last week of nutes but no longer getting any MagnifiCal.
A bit of a frustrating week with all the hot weather we've been getting but I did my best to manage VPD.
I would really like Grow Diaries to add a drying section or a way to add it to the harvest section. My Purple Kush got chopped down this week and is in the drying to tent to hang dry for 10-14 days. With the heat wave its been around 23 C with Rh 45-50% 👌
Started leaching the Moby Dick's. I do what Remo recommends and split your leaching time (flush time) in half and do a Nature's Candy flush. So I typically aim for a 2 week flush so this week I started with 14ml of Nature's Candy in 5000ml of tap water Ph between 6 - 6.1
The Moby's are getting really thick with some mad fox tailing but in a good way haha. I inspect my plants twice daily and very thoroughly and see no signs of stress 👌😎
The final week! These Auto's are BEASTS!!
No more nutrients just leaching with tap water Ph between 6 - 6.1 the taps ppm is 200 so I will eventually get an R/O system.
Really packing on some weight!! Had to tie branches to other branches to hold them up. Did a final defoliation a little late in the week normally I would do it at the start of the last week.
Quick and easy grow! It finished in 82 days from sprout.
Tastes awesome! Strong berry flavour and aroma with Kush undertones. Can definitely tell its a Kush from the flavour.
I don't like the bud structure at all (popcorn) which is why I after the last seed is done I won't be growing this again. It smokes really nice! I did a fantastic job this cycle with the flush and this may be some of the whitest ash I've seen in a long time!! Super stoked about that.
It has no negative effects that I found but I had to put something in the section. Googly Eyes for the win
These were 2 monster Auots!! 1lb from 2 auto plants is more than any grower could ask for. Moby 1 weighed 271.82g
Moby 2 weighed 246.39g
I hung them for 15 days to dry. I dont have fans in my dry tent its just hooked up to the hrv which is constantly on.
For being a Haze strain I was hoping for a stronger pine taste and aroma but its got some line in it. Nugs are solid rocks which means it will last longer.
Definitely a good harvest and a happy grower 😎🤙👍🌱
