I got a double scrog setup and I'm gonna let it grow into it. This is my first grow and I'm excited. General Hydroponics nutes (Flora series). Kingbrite QB 288 v3 from alibaba. I'm just gonna let her do her thing until about week 3.
Just letting her grow and do her thing. She's growing slow but i haven't fed nutrients or anything so there's no need to go and measure water temp or PPM. I put solution temp to 70 because it wouldn't let me leave it blank.
Started nutes this week. Gave it a double feeding because my measurement beakers came late but oh well. Overall about 8ml of each nutrient. PH up and Down to control Ph levels.
Topped for the first time this week. Topped at the 5th node and she's been taking off well. Night temp is at 90 today which is super high but that's because I have an iphone in there recording a timelapse and it's making the phone very hot. I'm gonna work on a solution to get the phone cooler or place it in a different spot. Fed with 6ml nutes this week because I had given a measured and eyeball amount equating to 8ml last week so I just wanted to be safe. Other than that everything's been good so far.
I think I ended up fimming rather than topping her. Humidity is getting hard to increase to combat high temps but I do have 2 humidifiers on the way. They come with fan attachments so I will use those to help exhaust out the tent. I've been exhausting out the tent since about June 18 to combat high temps so far and it's working a little bit which is good. I've also been adding 2 frozen water bottles every 6 hours or so to combat high wager temperatures but I'm probably gonna have to start rotating those out every 3 hours. I'm also gonna start tying branches down starting tomorrow. I defoliated all the lower growth on the 26th so that the focus can be at the tops. I plan on topping maybe one more time when It grows up a little more. She's taking off kinda slow and I'm hoping I didn't stunt her but we'll see.
Got my humidifiers in today to which only 1 worked so that sucks that I have to ship 2 back but even with 2 in there right now the humidity still hovers in the 40-45% range. I bought a bigger humidifier today to help up the humidity and it will be here tomorrow so hopefully that bumps it up to about 55+. I tied branches down this week starting on day 43 and tied em tighter on day 45. Some leaves seem to be brittle and most feel dry but I'm chalking that up to my lack of humidity. Temps seem to still be high even though I've had both fans exhausting out the side of the tent all week and had the tent ports open at the top. Other than that everything seems to be going well so hopefully the humidifier arrives on time and works and fixes any issues I may be having. Any suggestions would be great.
Edit: Just found out I'm giving the wrong amount of nutrients. Especially bloom. Gonna redo her nutrients when the humidifier arrives. Also moved the driver for my light to outside the tent to combat high temps. Hoping for the best!
Discovered I had root rot by the 3rd. I ordered hydroguard but it didn't arrive till the 9th. I also had my plants in a bucket i had painted the inside black. BIG OOF, i know. Anyways i bought new all black buckets from home depot on the 9th of June. So this week she was just stressing and dying. I cut off most of the dying leaves and clipped the ends of the ones dying but thats all shown in the next week pics.
Got hydroguard and a new bucket on July 9th, but I didn't take pics that day. Flushed the system with pH only water to 5.5 then added around 10ml of hydroguard. By the end of the week the roots were white, separated, and shooting out everywhere. I topped the 2 main stalks parallel to one another on the 13th. I also defoliated alot of the dead leaves and cut the tips of the leaves that were dying off or that went bad and were turning colors. Finally introduced nutes, I fed at 1/2 the dosage suggestion from some chart i got online that shows the flora series for simple recirculating. I just LST'd the branches on the 14th but i broke a stalk that split halfway. It's still attached it's just got green wire holding it sturdy to the main stem right at the knuckle. (EDIT) I split it a little more on the 15th fixing my LST but now I've got it duct tape around the knuckle to keep it together. I cut slim strips of duct tape and taped it around so it's sturdy. I'm just gonna leave it be for now. I spread the canopy out with green anchors and now I'm just gonna leave it alone for about 3 days before i start checking for growth. So far hydroguard seems to be doing amazing so i gave it a second light feeding of 4ml on the 13th of June. Roots are almost fully touching the water so I'm expecting growth to explode and the plant to heal well over the next couple of days.
Updating this on the 12th week so I'm not sure how accurate my readings are however I know my nutrient calculations should be about correct because I was feeding at exactly half the recommended dose for DWC. It grew well this week and I didn't do much except extra defoliation to clean it up and expose more budsites before I flip to flower.
LST'd on the 26th of July and just let it grow from there. I fed the same amount of nutes as the week before just to help it get adjusted and bounce back. It grew nice and well this week
Was feeding to 3/4 recommended dosage up until 8/4. Now I'm feeding at 2/3 and I'm going to continue feeding at this strength until the end of the grow. PPM spiked to 1810 but as I've said I've now got that under control. Didn't really do much to her this week besides just letting her go until she hits the net. I'm flipping to flower in a week so far now I'm just gonna leave her alone, feed her right, and let her fill out.
Fed her good this last week. 2/3 The recommended dosage for GH Flora Series. Didn't do much this week just let her grow on her own to reach the scrog net before I flip her to flower next week.
Finally flipped to flower. Fed at 1/2 recommended nute strength for transition to flower. Finally hit the scrog net too this week. Didn't do much this week just let it grow.
Defoliated heavy at the start of the week to clear out some light for the bud sites. I also added a water level indicator tube on the bucket to better track nutrient feedings. Fed at 1/2 strength the recommended dosage for week 5 of Early bloom Flora Series "Simple Recirculating" chart. Just let her fill out the scrog this week as it grows more and more.
Fed at week 1/2 strength again for week 7 per the schedule I'm using. Defoliated a little more on September 5th and just focused on tucking the plant under the scrog to keep it even.
Went back to week 6 feeding per the chart I'm using. Fed at half strength because I didn't like how rapidly the PPM's were rising this week. I had to keep lowering the PPM throughout the week. Other than that no real hiccups. I also wrapped my buckets in foil insulation to keep the water cooler longer while I put empty water bottles in there.
Back at week 7 feeding now at half strength. I've ordered a dehumidifier to get the humidity down as I'm in week 6 approaching week 7 of flower. So far all is good
Got my humidifier in and all this week the humidity has held steady around 40-50. The humidifier works great. Defoliated a little and fed at half week 8 strength per the chart I'm using.
This week gave me some trouble as I started feeding week 9 per the chart I started seeing signs of nutrient stress. I couldn't identify in time so by Oct 1 I flushed for 2 days then on Oct 3 I fed week 8 nutrients at 1/3 the strength. I think I had did my math wrong so by next week I'll begin week 9 feeding probably at 1/3 strength then within 2-3 days bump it up to 1/2 if necessary. I clipped some of the burnt tips and removed a few leaves that were ugly but other than that I just let her be. Color is really coming in and it looks beautiful. Some leaves were starting to purple prior to the nute burn but you can't really see it now. Trichomes look amazing and my iPhone 11 camera doesn't do it justice because she is FROSTY. Smell is good but I can't really describe it so I'm gonna wait till cure. For now whenever I brush up against a nug I get a fruity smell from the plant but that's different from the smell I get when I open up the tent for the first time in a day. Hope all goes well next week because I'm looking to be done in about 3 weeks.
Plant was looking and doing good this week no real problems. It started turning more and more purple as the week ended. Overall nothing bad to report. She's just bulking up at this stage. Fed at 1/2 strength for week 9 of the chart. It's at the ripen stage so no more FloraGro for the rest of the grow.
P.H and PPM kind of went out of wack this week. I had to flush the last 2 days with just plain pH'd water but overall the plant was alright through the week. I started the week with a 1/2 strength feeding of week 10 and then added a 1/5 feeding when p.H was dropping and thats when my p.H had dropped and PPM rose. I just topped with plain water to bring the PPM down and adjusted p.H to about 5.7 every 2 days. Overall she was alright this week nothing crazy. The leaves that had got burnt a couple weeks back are dying off and I've decided to leave them on so the plant can use them for energy. The bud is turning more purple every day which is a nice touch.
