..Another week from seed. The initial soil mix for these seedlings is peat free soil, compost, earthworm castings, gypsum, epsom salts, humic acid, kelp meal, insect frass. A light mixture to get things going. The seedling looked like she was suffering. The environmental settings were ok. The humidity was hoovering around 62%-66% an the day to night temps are about 80 degrees to about 75 degrees. The leaves were not very perky and she honestly looked sad. On day 10 she was watered with a corn sprouted tea and on day 11 was was given a compost tea brew as a foliar. On day 14 still looking a bit down but in organics things take a bit longer to happen.
...One change I made in the tent this week was to change over my seedlings fluorescent light and replaced it with a 100w full spectrum COB. DAY 17 she has made a turn around and leaves are praying now. Only watering now when the soil feels dry. My main aim is to keep the soil moist to keep the microbial life happy. This week she will have an alfalfa seed sorted tea mixed with some aloes.
DAY18 .. Saw some fungus gnats, about 3 or 5 adults when i rubbed the surface of the soil. I put some peppermint oil around the rim of the pot and some got on a leaf which cause a brown burn spot.
Day 19... Added some yellow stickies to catch the gnats.
Day 20.. Watered with reverse osmosis water to a pH of 6.5
DAY 21... Not impressed by what I am seeing here. There is some sort of deficiency occurring. The lower leaves are turning yellow which could mean low nitrogen but there are brown spots on the leaves the tips... I will do a transplant now as it has been 21 days and the minerals in the soil may be depleted.
DAY23.. Transplant day. The deficiency issues are still showing. When comparing previous plants from different grows at at that same stage were much bigger and looking healthy. Im guessing this organic grow method is very slow and fixes takes some time to show positive effects. The transplant was done using Great White mycorrhizae to inoculate the roots and soil. The root system looked ok but not vibrant.
After the transplant she was watered with sprouted corn tea as a soil drench and also a 24hr brewed tea using worm casting, alfalfa, kelp, neem meal and humic acid. Lets see what happens over the next few days.
D47...she is remaining short and stout but pulling her weight. Looking green and her secondary stems are coming up. She has been getting a few hrs of sunlight daily. She was also topped on two of her fast growing branches.
D49... She was given a mineral rich compost tea and also used as a foliar.
D51..She was put outside on a hot bright warm day to charge up.
D52...Those gnats are acting up again. Some tie downs were done. Some topping was done today too.
D54... A veg compost tea was done and stopped as foliar and riot drench.
D55. Nematodes were used on the soil to control fungas gnats... Little fuckers.
D56.. put her outdoors.. she's loving it.. praying all day.
D58... Transplant day today into the 10 gallon.... Micorrizhae was used in the roots during the transplant
On the last day of veg she started 36 hrs of darkness. On day 2 when lights came in she looked ok. Slight yellowing in some of the new leaves. Nothing serious. She was given a nutrient rich compost tea to start flowering... Still have fungus gnats issues but will address that again.
F4&F5......... Some bigger size leaves which were facing towards the inner of the plant were removed. This is a bushy plant and I foresee heavy defoliation in weeks to come.
..very uneventful week with this lady.. Pistils were not showing and its day 15. She was given a compost tea on day 15 with some seed sprouted tea. Heavy defoliation taking place as she is very bushy lady. Her stems appear to be very thin and fragile. They were still picked and bent over to maintain the canopy.
This is a strange plant she is. She has developed pistils but for some reason they are taking long to develop. I'm not sure if its because it may be a long flowering sativa dominant strain that's why she's crawling. Still very bushy and her stems are a bit on the weak side. Other than that i can't observe any problems with her. Cant get any smell either. Hope this strain works out to be something spectacular in aroma and taste...
Her big fan leaves that's blocking bud sites are tucked away or removed.
This strain makes for easy work. No deficiencies showing. There are a few bud sites well below the canopy where light isn't getting to. Options are to defoliate or remove the bud sites. This strain from what Im seeing will produce small flowers and it would be a waste of time trying to trim small undeveloped flowers. I'll just remove them.
Nothing much going on this week.... Buds taking their time and don't look much in a rush. Just basic maintenance going on.. No real smell happening either.
F36.... She was given a compost tea mix in addition to an alfalfa SST and aloes to be watered in. Buds are getting bigger slowly... .Night time temperatures are around 68F and humidity around
64%..Daytime temps are around 78f with RH of about 58%.
F43...She hadn't been watered in a few days and she's looking a bit droopy. Cant tell from this picture though.
F44.. The soil was drenched today as the soil was dry which was really poor..
F47... Kept the soil moistened.
F50.. Top dressed with malted barley, worm casting and the remainder of some super soil with some new straw..
She is a very resinous strain. very sticky and that's just from my fingers touching the leaves. When touched there is a strong smell of pine and lime with something else I can't figure out as yet.
D57 Compost tea was watered in. Loads of fungus gnats but the compost tea I'm applying seems to deal with that. Some neem meal was put into the compost tea mix and some neem was top dressed .
Loads of white pistils but the plant is healthy and going strong. No deficienies observed. Very strong smell. Happy week.
D59.. The compost tea significantly reduced the fungus gnats.. BYE BYE..
D60.. The pistils starting to turn brown.
This week the trichomes were checked but no where near enough milky ....
General maintainence routines
Coming to the end of this journey. This week was about checking trichomes and waiting till the best opportunity to harvest. Very resinous buds.
F73.. Chop Day.
@MRTHC, I'm growing organic, too. I use coco coir, perlite, worm castings, crab meal and kelp meal, mycorrhizae and trychoderma, and I haven't had a grow where I can forget about pH yet; maybe that's the case for super soil though. For this strain I'm between 5.8-6.4, never above 6.4 and the plant is doing great. If you're using soil maybe don't go so low, but do try to keep it between 6.2-6.5 and see how it responds. N shouldn't be an issue even at 7, so maybe it's just the plant genetics with the color; mine also looks a lighter green, but it's growing super strong and fast and lower growth is also the same color, so it's evidently not defficient in anything.

@yugen, thanks for that. She definitely looks like she's going through some kinda deficiency in N. Looks really lime green. I usually water between 6.4 and 6.8 so I'll keep an eye on that
