Moved my entire set up around. This is my first full year with the greenhouse. I completed the build last fall (not leaves on the trees) and didn’t realize that by the end of August half my greenhouse was in the shade. Oops. So I needed to move my potting benches and equipment to the back and the plants to front. Luckily I harvested 4 plants already. And have just one more auto harvest. So I just have 3 big white og and my super tall special queen. Plus a couple clones I’m playing with. The white OG are looking good and healthy. The topping I did a few weeks ago definitely filled them out. So now I’m defoliating to open up some light to the lower buds. They started flowering last week but very slightly so I was hesitant to mark the week as first flower. But we are definitely into flower now. Feeding them once a week with tiger bloom. And ph water. The heat wave is over so they are nice and cool in the greenhouse. Temps are ranging from 75-80. Vs the high 90s we had for majority of the midsummer. I didn’t expect these to start flowering for a couple weeks but i think the sun tucking herself behind the trees and the cool temps signaled fall to these ladies and they jumped on the fruit to harvest train. Having some spider mites concerns but keeping them at bay. The ladies bugs helped a little though - out of 1500 ladybugs I maybe have 2-3 left in the greenhouse. Oh well. I need to swing by and get some been oil. I treated last week with de , then pyrethrum and then hosted them down just about everyday with a blasting mister in my hose. And I’ve been picking the spiders off with my fingers when I see them. And rubbing the leaves. It tedious and I don’t have time for all that. Stopped at 2 places for neem oil it no luck. Should have just ordered it online. Oh well. Bud sites look numerous. Very excited as I’ve only harvested autos. And 3 of those were cbd pink kush and they were low yielding strains. The blueberry did quite well. But these feminized photo plants are enourmous. The yield will be great. Just got to get them there carefully. Ordered a levo2 for some lotion and oil creations. Very excited about this. With my new garden I was excited to see how many advocates exist for cannabis and how many people are looking to try it for help with their ailments. Like arthritis, back pain, anxiety. The stigma here is lifting and it’s good to see. This plant can be a miracle for some. This first journey through growing it myself has been fun. Now on to the final weeks to yield the most I can before winter!!!!! (And time to make a decision if I will carry it to an indoor grow. Still on the fence)

I began to notice some bud rot the other day. And I trimmed it away but last night it had spread. i harvested the whole Plant early. cloudy trichomesfew amber. better than it dying. How do I clean the healthy buds I salvaged from the bud rot? Or do I just dry quickly?

Great article. Thank you. It does state you can water cure bud rotted buds. Nah. Yuck. I cut out the actual infected portions and will throw them away 😭 about 1/3 of my harvest. Luckily for me- I have far more than I’ll ever need, so I just keep reminding myself of that as my heart breaks. I may try this water curing thing. Though I’m Worried about the drying process. I cut a lot of the bud rot out and to do so it left behind a lot of little buds not on stems. It’s says to “hang dry” the buds after water curing. Well that’s not possible with half of what I have left over. I do use a mesh hanging rack for drying. Do you think this will be ok and not cause more of a mold issue during the drying portion? Also I harvested and trimmed last night. Still thinks it ok to proceed with water curing a day later? This is all so new to me. TIA

Hi growmie! First of all: i feel you sister, to bad this mold affected your growth! but growing outdoors without mold aint gonna happen, there will always be that one season you get it, its just a reminder for you to be more progressive in prevention and becoming a better gardener😁👍 sucks though i know, my compost bin worth 1000's of bucks this year due to mold🤣 Unless you live in a desert or dry climate, you better start with autos early, so they finish in the middle of summer, also work clean, mold spores are everywere but working clean minimizes the spread. Air flow is crucial i learned it the hard way 2, the spores fall in the leaves/budds more often without a good wind into your greenhouse, plants dry up faster too. I bought a little wireless fan that i place in my greenhouse now, hoping my photo periods wont mold big time. It seems to have a beneficial outcome. For the budds( the question actually😜): evey budd that seems moldy, discard, this mold is toxic when digesting. Other budds that are okay can be dried and cured like you are use too. If you have a microscope, check those budds, watch out for white fluffyness on your plant tissue, if you see that, discard it. Water curing is also a good way, but when your plant is already affected by mold, this extra wet period can be hazardous for more budds to rot aswell, mold loves water, its there base to live on. Water curing does have benefits aswell like @pizzaman841 told you, its smoother when smoked but less flavourfull, so great in edibles. For smokers you'd be better off the old school way imo. Have a great day and happy growing😁👊

Look into water curing. If effectiveness of the medicine is of more concern to you than "bag appeal", it may be your salvation. You'll lose most of the flavor and aroma, but actually be left with slightly more potency per gram of finished product. Just trim away the bad areas prior to the process. I included a link to a decent article explaining the process. Hope it helps and best of luck to you! https://wayofleaf.com/cannabis/growing/water-curing-weed
