Day 1. Germination with jiffy peet pellets. So far I had a 100% success rate with these amazing little cheat chips, lets hope it continues...
Day 3. 24/25 seeds has broken surface so far. (ps. forgot to take photo)
Day 4. 24 seeds transplanted to hydro buckets, in 1-2 weeks I will separate them so it's only 1 plant per bucket instead of 2 like now.
Normally I do 3 plants or clones per bucket (and 2 buckets per sqm), but I wanna try and see how well these autos perform alone in a decent sized pot where the roots have space to really stretch out.
Day 5. I will give the last one a few more days to break surface. But I think I need to accept that my 100% success rate with jiffys just fell dramatically to ~99%... Well, if you cant take a loss you never be a boss ;)
Week 2 (day 8).
They seem to quickly adjust to their new environment. No root development yet but it's coming soon. I wont add any nutes until I see roots touching the water.
Day 13.
Roots are finally stretching out for water, another part of growing that always puts a smile on my face :)
Week 3.
I accidentally stunned my baby girls a little cause I forgot to raise the lights to proper distance and to dim them down before I turned them on (I blame only myself for being too stoned to think straight 😇). Let's see how they recover from that but they're still growing and producing roots, however at a slow pace. No worries, I will give my girls time to heal from my stupidity :)
Day 19.
Time to start some light LST, see if we can stress them enough to fight back :)
Week 4 (day 22).
Can't decide if I'm gonna follow the breeders instructions regarding that this auto strain will benefit greatly from topping, or if I go with my gut feeling and not top since everything I know about autos is that it's better if not top or main-line (even though I see some hobby growers treat their autos like bonsai trees and doing ok with that).
Week 5 (day 29).
All is good so far. Flipped the lights to 20/24 today. And stepped up the nutes a bit again to 600ppm, was a bit spicy for some of the smaller weaker plants so they indicated some light overfeeding. Let's hope they bounce back.
