LST appears to work, but I have a theory on this , and please hear me out
Newbies know nothing and they don’t LST. They let plants go au naturèl. As their skills and knowledge increase, their plants do better with bigger buds and yields. And they typically LST as they become experienced.
I suggest take away the LST and the yield remains. It’s the knowledge and skill that grew the buds, not LST. Try it! Leave a plant untopped and see if the yield is lower
My method could be called XLST I suppose. Extreme low stress training. I do brush my branches lovingly downward to spread them out, like I’m petting a dog. And I separate the top cola leaves and pull them downward just a bit. This sends the plant the message “I have hit an obstruction to vertical growth. I will grow my side branches out”
I just love apex buds and don’t have the heart to top plants anymore!
Happy growing. Enjoy your harvest
