Made a few mistakes as this is my first grow. First, I let the seeds dry out in paper towel. Then I was afraid of the light being too close resulting in plant 2 and 3 to look like they were dying. Additionally, plant 3 had some of the seed stuck on it. I was able to remove the shell and have found a good distance for the light, and they look like they are doing well at this pont.
Looks like they have all bounced back well from the initial lighting mixup! Will continue with water only for another week, then start incorporating nutes.
Two of my plants are looking good, though they seem to be growing a little slowly (or I'm just expecting too much). Looks like I need to adjust my ph down a little in the water. I started these girls in ffof, and one of them seems to be having issues with the "hot" soil. Will avoid starting in for in the future. Will continue just water for now until I see some signs that nutes are needed. Hoping the one with burn bounces back!
Biggest frustration this week is my other two plants are starting to show nuts burn from the ffof (definitely lesson learned for grow 2). I'm thinking a part of the problem is perhaps due to the fact that I was worried about over watering so I haven't watered until runoff in the past, maybe creating some extra hot soil toward the bottom of the pot? I've started watering heavily once the soil dries to hopefully flush out all the extra nutes still in the soil. I also moved my light higher as i was noticing some stress and slow bunched up growth (thanks to someone else's question I found this remedy). I began lst with one of my plants, hopefully this gets smoother as i continue. No breaks, but its super stressful for me and I'm sure I could do a better job. I will begin lst with my other plant shortly. Finally, I think I'm pulling the plug on my 3rd plant as its well behind the other two and I want to shift all of my attention and resources to the stronger plants. I was hoping just for 2 of the 3 to germinate, so I guess this will put me back on track!
Still battling issues trying to get the nutrient level right. Was seeing slow growth early in the week. I added humbldts secret a, b, golden tree, and plant enzymes (all at half the min recommended strength) for 2 waterings. I noticed some of the brach growth start to pick up, but the main stem foliage is still showing some slight burn, while the issues with the previously impacted leaves were exacerbated. I watered today with ph'd h2o only. I've continued lst and think I want to scrog on the next grow to simplify the process. Definitely want to try coco/perlite on next grow to better be able to control the nutrients.
Went out of town for 9 days, fed plants nutes, and had a friend give .5 gallons of h20 to each plant on day 5. Plants looked great when i got back, a lot of growth. Fed them on Monday of this week and they have shot up even more over the last 2 days!
Plants have shot up substantially more over the last week. Bud sites look to be coming in well, and seeing a good amount of trichromes developing on leaves. Looks like just a touch of nute burn from last weeks feeding, barely noticeable on tips of leaves. This week I cut back on base nutrients a bit (from 9 to 7 ml/gl), and increased flower nutes (from 1 to 3 ml/gl). One thing im noticing is the amount of time its taking for the pots to dry out between watering/feeding, around 4 days. I think due to the size of my tent 5 gl pots may be a touch big, and I'm going to order some pot elevators to try and increase air flow around them.
Can anyone provide some inside into what these spots on the leaf may be from? I know there was slight nute burn as multiple tips have indicated, but this is the only leaf I've seen with these spots. Thanks in advance!
Plants seem to be coming along nicely. Haven't added any nutes since last Wednesday, watered 2x in the last week with ph'd water. The plant on the left seems to be maturing faster, but less bud. Pistils starting to change color on her. I will feed next, either tomorrow or the day after, but likely a low dose. Fingers crossed, all will go well this week!
Still taking about 3-4 days to dry out. Most likely due to my lack of adding extra perlite when starting. I think this is causing some pretty big fluctuations in humidity. Going to get a dehumidifier this week with a controller to try and stabilize the grow tent and possibly dry the smart pots faster. Im watering 2 times between each feeding, trying to take it slow with nutes to ensure no issues during flower. All in all I'm feeling pretty good about the progress, as I'm really starting to see the buds coming in and growing in size.
Last feed was a week ago, have watered twice in the past week with ph'd water. Ladies are progressing nicely. Will feed tomorrow, and see how things progress. Got the dehumidifier and control put in, have it set at 45 rh, right now. Have seen the humidity come down substantially but still swings between 40 and 54. Thinking about lowering the setting a bit to around 40 to try and get tighter control as I finish out the grow over the next several weeks.
Fed for the last time, going to go to just water and some enzymes moving forward since it takes so long to dry between watering. Buds seem to be coming along nicely. Hoping harvest will come in the next 2 weeks!
