I started this seed in an aerogarden, planted the seed on May 12, 2020. Everything went as expected And thenl I started reading more about how to optimize my yield...
You can see my little aerogarden in my 4x4x7 tent because its all I could order that would come the next day. It was overwhelming when it came, but I do not regret the purchase.
Next steps. what to do with all this space?
shes popping. I am learning a ton about basin size, lighting, air flow, oxygen in the water, LS/HS training techniques. I thought this was going to be easy. Time to dish out a few bucks.
I did the first Topping right at the end of this week.
This was a big week. I learned a ton and made some big changes. I take a few photos everyday (incase you havnt noticed). I picked up a Bestva light and a couple 32 watt LED bulbs. Fans for intake and exhaust, I put a 6" filter on a 4" cloudline fan for the exhaust. I ditched the aerogarden for a 5 gal bucket because I realized how constrained I was.
Checking PH daily keeping it around 6. recalibrated pH pen. by the way I am guessing the height based off the photos. I never measured.
I was able to 3D print a bunch of stuff aside from the basket, which
After trying a few methods I finally landed on drilling tiny holes in the rim of the bucket and attaching copper wire to it to help with LST.
Another solid week, but I ran into a couple problems. My buddy helped me make a closed loop bucket system on my bday! This made my lfie much easier. except for the small drip i had going by the resivoir outside the tent. but i took care of it with no problems.
During some LST I split the main stem. fixed that too.
I topped one side and FIMmed the other side beginning of the week.
3D pritned light fixtures which clip onto the tent bars
3D printed a clip on shelf for one of my fans.
For the loop system:
5 buckets, 4 to hold plants and 1 as a reservoir. purchased a $25 waterpump and $20 worth of 1/2 tube and $10 worth fo 3/16 tube for airstones, got a nice Air Pump 8 Outlets 80W 1,300GPH ($120)
3D printed bulkeads to connect buckets, airflow blockers for the connections. silicone to make it water tight.
Plant looks healthy and strong!
Got a new 1500w light.
Added smaller light fixture with 6 LED bulbs 6500k, 100 watt each
Added a second basin with a chiller to the loop system.
ScrOG
Now my system is at least 25 gal so i am upping the nutrients baby!
having some problems with the tent getting a little bit too hot. Going to route the exhaust to a nearby window so the room doesnt heat up.
Might be worth mentioning that I've been using fltered water from a carbon filter and then flouride filters. then i add my nutrients.
Oh I just learned about CO2.
Things are getting a bit out of hand.
The roots have filled the 5 gallon bucket almost completely.
The plant is startign to cover my newer clones.
I only have 1 tent and did not start all my plants at the same time so the cycle is off by a few weeks between plants.
I think I might move her outside this weekend.
Transitioned her out of the tent, decided to take advantage of the sun this season!
First put her in the basement for 36 hours of darkness.
She fell through my 3D pritned PLA basket- ended up holding her up with a bunch of pipecleaners attached together then wrapped around her base and then pulled up and wrapped around bamboo sticks. This way the roots float as much as posible.
Next challenge is controlling the lights
She is starting to adjust and grow.
I use a couple tarps to keep out the late during the early morning and evening so i can maintain my 12/12 light cycle.
Just before buds came in I decided to cut off a bunch of the lower branches and do some 'Kushman Chiropracty' even though it is a bit late
I took away 30% instead of 50% of the branches and leaves.
she made a quick recovery!
I decided to put the best branches in my aerogarden. They ended up growing roots very quickly!
Things were going really well this week. buds were starting to form really nicely.
August 2nd i had a big rainstorm and my tent pooled and came crashing down on my Cindy and broke like 5 or 6 branches including a split right down the main stem. Pretty devistating.
I did a big repair job using tape, zipties, pipecleaners. hoping she makes a quick recovery.
