- germinated in paper towels - one runt too about 54hrs while the other was bursting out within 48hrs - placed under humidity dome and maintained a 27C temp with a 70-80% RH - started feeding a very diluted nute formula when cotyledons showed up @ EC 400 - lights set to 24 until cotyledons appeared then 18/6 - increased EC of nute feed by 75-100 at every feed until EC 1000 was reached - 2x daily feedings - potted up by weeks end once roots emerged from jiffy's

- Feed was mixed and then diluted until an EC of 1100-1150 was reached - showing nice growth this week - will need to pot up at the beginning of next week - fed twice daily with 0.25L at each feeding - RH not as high as I would like (avg 55%) but there's nothing I can do until I get a better set up as the fan from the flower side is constantly on - could have probably kept them in the humidity dome this wk

- Growing nicely after the up-potting - haven't decided how I'm going to train this one yet but I have to make a decision soon - I will mostly likely set up a ScrOG net once they get into flower - I may have to top a few times prior to that due to the fact I need them to sit in my veg tent for up to 8 weeks until the plants on my flower side finish up - looking healthy overall so far, slowly increasing the EC levels in the feed

- I've decided to "Main Line" train these plants bc I've never tried it before (always want to try something new just to experiment) - last week the plants were topped to the 3rd node and growth tips removed from the 1st & 2nd node of the main stalk - when the new growth tips on the 3rd node grew out themselves to the 4th node on each side the plants were topped again but removing just above the 3rd node on each side - the growth tips from the second node were also removed on each branch so that the 2 growth tips on the 1st and 3rd node on each side are preserved - these nodes will create my 8 new tops (4 on each side) - LST was used to tie down the branches on each side, I'm trying to get these as flat and even as possible so the hormones distribute evenly and create 8 equally sized colas - I'm planning on also using a trellis netting for this grow but I can't incorporate it until the first week of flower since I use one tent with a veg side and a flowering side and already have plants occupying the flower side - this is less than ideal but I figure I can just veg them for an extra week or so once I switch them over and work in the trellis netting

- Lots of growth this wk! Had to be on top of the LST - growth tips beginning to explode from plant - trying to keep the plant as low as possible to create a bush so a lot of rubber wire and zip ties around the pot were used to tie the growth tips down - having a real hard time keeping the branches as even as possible to promote balanced growth but doing my best - will continue with this feeding schedule until transition week

- Just chugging along - Getting bushy in here! - I feel like this will be a nice stalky plant - EC run off getting a bit high so skipped a full nute feeding and fed with PH'd water with just CalMag added - Keeping up with the LST, keeping the branches as level as possible - First time using airpots, not sure it's making that much more of a difference between a fabric pot, would love to do a side by side fabric vs airpot grow from clones one day - Will start popping and twisting the stems next week and then in the first week of flower I will incorporate a scrog net in an attempt to really level the canopy

- Plants are low and bushy, ready to flip after this week - Nothing too crazy to report here, just trying to stay on top of LST and make sure branches are growing equally - The air pots are a bit trickier for LST because they are more narrow than the fabric pots I am used to so it's making things a bit difficult due to lack of room - Leaves looking healthy and filling out the space a lot, will look forward to flipping to flower next week - Medium isn't drying as much as I'd like between waterings so I will have to adjust my fan position

- Big week for the plants, moved into the flowering room and LST'd heavily throughout the week in order to get all the branches even - Defoliated the lower sections of the plants throughout the week a little at a time to watch the plants and see how they responded - By weeks end there were little to no leaves or growth tips on the lower sections of the leaves - By removing the lower branches my goal is to avoid the popcorn buds I've seen with previous grows and to concentrate the energy and growth potential to the top of the plants as early as possible in the plants life - My goal with this grow is to not defoliate as much as I have in the past as I believe I went too far with my Blue Gelato 41 plant - I will still remove leaves with a purple stem or large fan leaves blocking major bud sites - Popped and cracked the main stems and branches as well in order to create some extra strength in the branches - Plants seemed to have responded well to all the training and defoliation by weeks end - GDP2 is looking much smaller than GDP1 and is growing much slower for some reason, I will have to keep my eye on her - No more LST from here on out, mainly just letting the branches reach up towards the light from here on out and keeping them as level as possible

- continuing with the LST this week, just trying to keep everything as even as possible - running into an issue with GDP2 where one side of the plant is more dominant than the other and I've been doing my best to try and get the other side to grow more by tipping the pot slight to raise one side closer to the light - removed some leaves from the bottom (lollipopping) and some small, lower bud sites and shoot that I don't think will grow into much - really trying to concentrate the growth into the main colas on this grow just to see what will happen - pistils showed up in and around F12-14, both females, all is good! - plants starting to bush out a little but I'm trying not to defoliate to hard on this grow - plants were flushed with CalMag only in the water at weeks start then fed normally throughout the week in an attempt to keep EC levels and salt build up to a minimum in the root zone - plants seem to be taking in nutes quite well so I would have to comment that they are heavy eaters due to the fact that me EC levels are constantly staying low when compared to other plants I have grown but I don't want to push these guys - scouting for pests or any problems daily

- getting bushy up in here! - slight defoliation on the plants at the start of the week, trying to be a little more subtle on my defoliations - mostly removing lower leaves and inner fan leaves - flowers starting to form nicely on both plants - bit of a chill week, just keeping an eye on the leaves for bugs or deficiencies but luckily all is good! - getting cooler in my neck of the woods so temps are easier to maintain which is refreshing

- Continuing with light defoliation, only really did it at the start of the week - Maintaining to removing inner fan leaves only - Plants shot up in height throughout this week, should be the final week of stretch - Mainly staying nice and squat - I had listened to an interview with DJ Short and Mass Medical Strains about how they recommend trying an 11/13 lighting schedule and how it can bring out different expressions in your plants so I though "What the heck!" and am going to try it out - A real test of this would be to have 2 different flowering rooms with clones of the same mother and do a back to back of one room with 12/12 and the other with 11/13 and really see what happens - Deciding to really cool it on the supplement amounts for this grow and really only feed them sparingly (trying to adhere to the less is more approach) - Next week I will cut down all my nute levels as I can see the tips of the leaves look a bit burnt, maybe this strain is a low feeder - Overall plants are looking healthy and will continue to scout for pests or problems

- Plants are starting to smell real nice, buds are filling in and resin production is ramping up - Slight defoliation done again this wk, just lightly removing leaves from the center of the plant and anything blocking good bud sites - Resin is super super sticky! I'm excited for these one - Plants are staying nice and squat - Noticed something about the plants that I think is going to come back to bite me in the end.. The manifold worked out well but due to the fact the pots are just so narrow there wasn't enough room to train the branches to grow with a lot of space in between the 8 main colas so they are growing quite close together and the light is not penetrating into them as much. I noticed this when I separated 2 of the colas and could see how different the colours of the leaves were where the light wasn't hitting me. I feel like I may have an issue where some parts of the colas won't be as mature as other parts... I don't know. We'll see and lessoned learned. - Overall plants are looking good and coming along nicely - Feeding once per week with just ph'd calmag water has seemed to work in keeping my EC run off levels in check

- Finding that the GDP1 pheno is throwing a lot more resin glands than it's counterpart - Some light defoliation this week just to clean up some bud sites - Finding that the colas are much too cramped together - It was definitely a mistake to mainline these plants in these narrow airpots - Airpots would've been better for just letting a plant grow naturally or maybe being topped once or twice.. lesson learned - When I separate the colas I can see that the bud sites that are being cramped together are much more light in colour and look very under developed - May have to harvest these plant in stages and just cut the tops of the colas off and leave the bottoms for another week or two - Nothing too major to report, Micro Gro has been cut from the feeding schedule and I ran out of Kool Bloom so I'm just letting these plants go without - For the last 4 feedings in this week I took 4 gallons of nutrient water and diluted it with another 4 gallons of water with just calmag in it in order to reduce my EC and flush the plants a little bit and keep EC run off low

Welcome to nugshot-ville!! - Plants looking delicious and filling in nicely - Resin smells like grape perfume, it's really nice - Cutting back on a lot of the nutes this week and by mid week I diluted the nutrient feed in half - Environment is dialed in at this time of year (Autumn) and it's been pretty perfect for growing so it's nice to see good results - GDP1 showing a lot more frost than GDP2, you can visibly see the difference in maturity - Debating on whether or not to leave GDP2 in a little longer, we'll see what she does next week

- Pretty chill week, buds looking delicious and everything looking good - Just have to keep her steady and guide her onto the runway at this point - Checking daily for pests or problems, nothing to report at this stage - Nutrients cut off by mid week to allow for 10-14 days of flushing with plain PH balanced water - The idea with PH balancing the water I suppose is to allow the plants to continue up-taking nutrients left over in the coco during the flushing period - Home stretch! One more week after this most likely and then harvest time! - Tent has been hovering around 26C for day temps and 21C for night temps, I don't have AC or I would've cooled her down in the 16-18C range to see if I could coax some colour out of them - I just don't think these particular genetics have purple in them like the original GDP strain

- PM (powdery mildew) STRIKES! - Pretty much the final week and this little problem pops up - After a small battle I was able to keep the PM at bay during this final week by wiping the leaves with a wet paper towel and it's pretty much worked! - I very carefully wiped every single fan leaf and it would go away and then show up on a few fan leaves 2 days later but in very small patches - I would also very carefully remove a few of the more covered leaves so as not to shake it and distribute any PM spores throughout the tent - By week's end I haven't seen anymore of it pop up - First time dealing with this issue so this is both good and bad.. I at least know what to do if I encounter this in the future and now have experience with it - Plants fed with plain PH'd water as a continuation of the flushing process - Watered in some Florakleen two days in a row midweek - Not sure why I did this and probably unnecessary but I had it there so I wanted to use it and why not.. it'll help break down the salts and I still have enough time to flush it all out anyway - Trichomes on GDP1 are like 60% cloudy, 20% clear with amber and 20% clear - Trichomes on GDP2 are like 80% clear and 5% clear amber and 5% cloudy - This is the tricky part for me.. On the one hand I don't want everything to degrade but on the other hand I really want to hold out for 80% cloudy and 20% cloudy amber trichomes - As of writing this they are on currently day 65 of Flower (wk 10) so I will be watching them closely - Super tempted to let them go 70 days but will keep an eye out - GDP2 is definitely going longer than GDP1 so GDP1 will probably get the chop a few days before #2

- Week 10 baby! These sweet ladies went the distance - Fed with plain water in the final week.. no need to adjust PH as there are no nutes to uptake - GDP1 was chopped on Day 67 of flowering - The top half of GDP2 was chopped on day 71 of flowering! This one decided to take awhile - The bottoms of GDP2 were left to mature a little longer, I'll probably let that go for another 5-7 days but will check often

Not an overly impressive strain and I would say she was not that hard to grow. If I even grew this one again I would let it go naturally with some LST. Wanted more grape flavours but they don't really come through in the smoke. There's a bit of a sharp fruity smell that's sort of piney with a hint of fuel at the end. The smoke is not too flavourful in my opinion but that just means I didn't grow it well. Super tight nugs so be careful with humidity as stated above. Also she's a bit of a light feeder so be careful with your nutes. As you can see I burnt her tips and over fed her a lot. Not a bad yield though! I've only really smoked the lowers on this one so far so that gave me a bit of a racey high, just slightly racey. I would accredit that to the lowers not being mature enough at chop. The plant is super dense and since I mainlined it the lowers didn't receive enough light. I tried to let the lowers mature more but the plant stopped maturing when I chopped the tops, this caused stress and the plant just shut down basically. Not sure if I would grow Blimburn's GDP again until I grow the real GDP.
