jahredi Week 1 Germinated well. Went into a super soil mix I made as I switch to a living soil process. Excited to see how it goes!

jahredi Some really weird leaf stuff going on here. I’ve heard the genetics can be wonky with GCS. We shall see. Hopefully it grows out of it.

jahredi Prime time growing right now. I think the combo of the weather and the roots reaching the super soil has inspired some vigorous growth. Definitely noticed some thrip an/or leaf hopper damage. I’ve spotted 4 thrips and 2 leaf hoppers across all of the plants this week, although the overall damage throughout the greenhouse would suggest that there are more (even still, the damage is not that bad. Limited to a leaf or two on 4 plants. Fed them a bunch of beneficial nematodes and did 2 nights of spinosad followed by three nights of neem, and then one more night of spinosad. Hopefully that gets things back in check. I’ll be feeding a compost tea tomorrow morning. Removed some of the straw top covering since the weather has cooled back down.

jahredi I was under watering quite a bit in an attempt to make sure I didn’t flush out the benes and nutrients of the super soil. Ironically, I might have killed all the benes. Lol. Either way, they’re getting about 1 gal every other day now. Growing strong. This plant got some of the most thrip damage. It also had some really strange early growth. It looks about a week or so behind the other two autos that I planted at the same time... Just did another spinosad treatment. I haven’t seen any more thrips in the greenhouse since the first treatment 10 or so days ago. Saw a leaf hopper in there though 😡

jahredi All plants are responding well to the increase in water. I’m up to 1.25 gallon with this one every 2-3 days, depending on weather. It’s definitely starting to cool off and the days are getting shorter... About half an hour less light each week. It’s officially flowering. I added some top dressing amendments, high P seabird guano, a little neem meal, azomite, and some EWC

jahredi Early in the week I did an AACT tea. I didn’t know what I was doing (still don’t, but I’m learning). I most likely made it too complex and put every amendment I had on hand in the bag. Not sure of whether it had any microbial benefits or effect. I followed that up with another nematode watering and I can definitely say it has had a major effect. Between the nematodes and the yellow sticky traps, there’s hardly a fungus gnat to be seen. I topdressed yesterday with a mix of super soil, powdered oats, high P seabird guano, EWC, azomite, humic acid, alfalfa meal, and kelp meal. This one (and two other autos) is looking like it needs feed. The AACT is really just a bacterial introduction. I won’t make it so complex next time. Just EWC and molasses from here on out. The top dress will probably take a little bit to break down, so I‘ll do a simple nutrient tea with alfalfa or fish hydrolysate in the next couple days. Hopefully that helps out. Other than that, it looks pretty good. Seems slow, but I suspect that is the feed.

jahredi I starved these autos by accident at a critical time. I was feeding/watering on the same schedule as my photo plants in 15 gal bags, meaning straight water. But the soil was definitely used up in these smaller 5 gal bags. It’s definitely turned around since the top dressing and Neptune’s Harvest feeds. Hopefully, these bud sites will fatten up, stack up and connect. this one started flowering a little later than the Tangerine Dream and Pineapple Express, but it’s caught up. Did a feed with Neptune’s Harvest Fish and Kelp Hydrolysate 2-3-1 at beginning of the week, straight water mid week and ended with a Neptune’s Harvest Fish Hydrolysate 2-4-1. This is on top of the P heavy phosphorus top dressing I added a couple weeks ago that is definitely starting to break down.

jahredi Posting these a bit late. I developed a bit of a fungus gnat issue that I think got a bit out of control and the larva were definitely stunting all the plants, some more than others. I did a nematode release and OG Biowar Foliar Pack the next week. I’ll post results in the next week. This one is starting to stink. Straight skunk smell 💯

jahredi Getting close. Thinking within this week... Battling a couple teeny tiny PM outbreaks. Not much on this plant at all. Changed the set up to put the dehumidifier and heater closer to the intakes. Defoliate quite a bit, added an oscillating fan and spread things out. The last day seemed to be all clear.

jahredi I harvested this a little early. I needed to make room for the photo periods to finish up. I think it could of gone another 5 days or so. Still, it smells great. Can’t wait for it to dry so I can sample. I’m aiming for a 5-7 day dry with temps between 65-70º and RH between 55-60%. Then, I’ll go with a two week jar cure before I really dig in.

I just grew this for my last grow. Pretty decent stuff. I grew 2 plants and they were quite different as far as bud size and density, I can't say for certain if it was inconsistent genetics or not. But my northern lights from growers choice were the same way, one looked like an indica as it should, and the other was more sativa like. I have had a good experience with growers choice, they have decent seeds, and good customer service. Happy growing!

@smoke24, nice! TBH, I’ve been using your grow to compare the pace of mine. I haven’t grown more than one seed of each strain from growers choice so I can’t speak to the consistency, but I’ve heard that GC might be a little inconsistent. Mine seems to be pretty similar to the one you documented. I’m getting close... Interested to see how the follow up grow you mentioned in your post goes!

@jahredi, looking good man. One of the reasons I decided to do a pic everyday was so that others could compare the pace of their grows, so its nice to hear that at least one other person is able to use my experience to help their own grows. I consider all fellow growers as part of a family, and being able to help people have successful grows is one of the reasons that im on here in the first place. While GC may be a bit inconsistent, the fact that they are based here in the USA is a plus for me, because it only takes about a week or so to get an order, as opposed to seed banks overseas which take way longer. I won 3 different strains from exotic seeds, so my plan is to do a diary on each of those, and if I'm lucky enough to win again, I will continue to do reviews on those breeders as well. I've been growing 2 plants at a time, always the same strain, for the sole purpose of being able to see how consistent they are, (and to have them be ready at the same time), It would be interesting to run different strains at the same time, but since I use the same tent for growing and drying, its really not a great idea. My northern lights grow was finished in 15 weeks, so you are getting close for sure. Happy harvesting!

Using the same seeds for my first grow and watching your pics for comparison, thanks for doing this. Mine are going slow, they are slow for the same time frame
