Was not sure how these plants would turn out since they are a pollen chuck. Out of 7 seeds, 3 females and 2 males survived early selection -- this involves culling mutated plants or plants showing hermie traits. Next is identifying and grouping phenotypes. This girl and her sister will begin flowering by week 6 of veg.
Induced flower this week. Expecting these to require 9 to 10 weeks for full maturity. Much more excitement and pictures to come once week 4 rolls around.
Stretching is giving way to flowering development. Both phenotypes are stinkier than I am used to. This crop may very well test my smell control!
Phenotype #1 is the larger of the two. Her leaf structure leans toward the mom used in the cross, Nirvana's Pure Power Plant. Stem rub also leans toward the mother in the cross.
Phenotype #2 has taken after the father (Greenpoint Seeds' The Deputy), showing identical leaf pattern and stem rub aroma.
Branching structure is identical between the two phenotypes, indicating that the favorable structure from The Deputy is dominant in this cross. Now begins the wait until week 9 to see how their flowers develop!
Stretch has slowed and flower set has begun! I have swapped out my 600 watt HPS/MH combo for a 240 watt LED fixture! Temperatures are holding stable at 76F and light intensity has actually increased due to improved uniformity! Can't wait to see how these plants develop over the next 4 weeks.
These plants have been taking their sweet time developing -- they look to be at the end of week 7 of flower this week. That puts them ~2 weeks behind schedule! Fortunately the plants are packing on weight; their yield this run should be fantastic.
Here we are rounding the corner in flower to harvest as it is nearly time to chop these girls down! Smells are beginning to develop more and more, with additional resin being produced every day. Peacebringer #1 is earthy, sweet, fruity and floral. Peacebringer #2 is earthy, ascerbic and fruity undertones. At least 2 more weeks before harvest! Will capture some more Peacebringer #2 shots soon.
