In the Next weeks I’ll graft some of my baby lophophora onto Trichocereus bridgesii and pereskiopsis. I sprayed the box to keep the baby’s moisture!

Getting a bit much sun now, so some are starting to get red. But that’s not bad, I’ll keep them in more shadow now.

Welcome to the ninth week for my peyote (lophophora wiliamsii) cacti’s! They’re doing pretty well and I think the last month they didn’t received as much sunlight as they could’ve absorb, that’s why they are not that big yet, now I put them in indirect/direct sunlight. The place they now have is a lot brighter🌵👍

Soo, im sorry for the interruption and that I deleted some weeks, but keeping up with this diary is hard work actually😅 I chose a different batch of seedlings to document from now on, because they grow nicer, faster and better in overall. I hope you enjoy these ones from now on!

I had taken my peyotes into my tent to give them perfect conditions before winter dormacy, they burnt slightly, but nothing to worry about. They grow really fast!

They’re doing good. But you need to keep in mind that I’m growing them in kind of a ,,rough“ way, so they don’t receive artificial lights or so, that’s why they’ll be smaller than other seedlings at this age. But I’m quite happy with that because they’re so damn cute haha

Some small rust infections on my peyote babies, but nothing to worry about. I’ll open the lid of they’re box now so the humidity lowers a bit and the fresh air will fight the fungus.

this will take yeas(~5) to develop and produce something that you'll be able to consume. do you think you'll document until then? best of luck with the grow
TheDoctor
TheDoctorcommented5 years ago
@@occultgreen420, I really hope so! I go travelling next month for half a year, but i think a friend of mine will take pictures in that time-frame. I have patience and I don’t think I’ll consume these, rather I’ll take bridgesii for this experience! :)

Cool! I have some San Pedro that I've been growing from seed. The pot fell and dumped them out, though. Looks like I managed to save two or three out of the original dozen.

SpaceToastcommented5 years ago
@TheDoctor, Wow! 200 seeds. I started with 20 but then I'm only looking to end up with 3 or 4 mature ones.
TheDoctor
TheDoctorcommented5 years ago
@SpaceToast, They are so delicate! It’s just a whole different world of care you need for them to thrive, at least in the first year... I will pop another 200 seeds in the next months or so. Just to be on the safe side and to have at least 50 healthy cacti in the next years

Yo Doc! Thank you for posting this dude! I recently picked up some Peyote seeds from rare exotic seeds but have been hesitant to start them. It seems like the germination period is pretty difficult. What kind of soil did you use? I have some miracle grow succulent soil but I'd rather get something I know that works since I have a limited amount of seeds. Keep up the god work dude! Best of luck🌵
TheDoctor
TheDoctorcommented4 years ago
@JakeNBake520, Thank you bro! I used a nearly 100% mineral soil, so if your succulent soil is made out of minerals it should be fine!

@igrowtomatoes, Thanks:) i really love the species of lophophora, I’ll update this one every month from now on, because otherwise you wouldn’t see any difference at all between the weeks😅

Hello. I did this 15 years ago. If you would like to see my 15 year old cactus go to my diary Amnesia Lemon in the Greenhouse week 4. Your doing a great job. I got my first flower in about 2 years. Chuck.
