The past seven days have had daytime temps of +30C to +38C and +20C to +24C over night. There has been no rain.
We have started to shade our vegetable garden and may do the same with the cannaplants if the drought continues. Watering every other night currently but was once a week previously.
Will give their first shot of fertilizer once the heat passes. They were planted in a home-made super soil and have been thriving but could use a good dose of full nutrients to restore their vigor once the temps go back to normal.
Bugs are at an all time high right now, and I can't remember a worse year in my 35 years of growing. Mostly leafhoppers and asian beetles, but a good mix of others too.
We could use some of your summer here in western Canada. It’s been totally cool and rainy all summer with only a few exceptions so far. Not a good year weather wise. Good luck with your grow.
@ChronicFinest, thanks. The Glookies does look to be leaning toward its GG4 parent. Most are seedling that have not been topped - why they look straight.
