Day 0 - The taproot went in the rapid rooter today with just regular pHed water that has a bit of Hydroguard down in the water for the roots that will make it down in the next few days. Using 200 watt LED setup for a bit. Will move to the 600W LED later on in the process. It took a really long time to get the seeds thanks to Covid, so I am super anxious to see this plant come to life! 🤞
7/14 Day 1 she finally popped out of the rooter. I started another one of these seeds a few days ago as well and it hasn’t popped out at all. I think it might be a dud which is a bummer because I waited a really really long time for these seeds. I moved both to a 400w light on day two and It didn’t speed it up like my other two plants.
7/15 small AF sprout. Other 2 seeds in the pack were duds. One didn’t germinate at all and the other had a fraction of a tap root and never went further after 6 days. I tried putting it in a rapid rooter to see if it would make progress and still nothing two days later 😕
7/20 Day 7. I seem to have a problem with root rot in my other two plants regardless of the water temperature being below 68 and having two medium size air stones in both containers. I’m going to try to use the Kratky method on this one and see if root rot starts. Before I started using air pumps and air stones, I just had my original plant in water with some room for air. No root issues at all with that plant until I put it in the bigger set up that has air stones. There was even a lot of light on the roots and I still had no issue.
